How the fuck does this location have 4 stars ?? I went here 3 days in a row and all 3 days something happen that left me with no donuts. First day I get there at 7:53am just for them to tell me they had no donuts ready at all...cool. I come back the next day...the line is so damn long it's wrapping out the parking lot and there's a sign on the door for the lobby being closed -_- at this point I'm done..... This is THE Krispy Kreme to go to. I've been going to this place since I was a kid. Don't get me wrong, there is another location on the Southside, and they are nice and all, but nothing compares to the OG Krispy Kreme. Over the years, they have updated ad remodeled the space to keep up with the times without sacrificing the taste of the products while opening up the layout for little ones and big alike to watch the magic happen in their open concept kitchen. The coffee/drinks, hot or cold is string and flavorful. The confections are always fresh and tasty. Despite moving away 20 years ago, it is still the same, even some of the staff. I saw the Krispy Kreme sign up ahead, and I thought, "I'm going to go ahead and try it today". I have had Krispy Kreme donuts before, and they were soooo good. Today, I decided to try the coffee too, as my usual coffee place was a bit far away considering I had an upcoming meeting. So, I pull up to the drive thru and begin my order. The young lady taking the order seemed pleasant enough, as she had a professional attitude in response to me adding more than she thought to my order. I pull up to the second window as instructed to pay, and she duly takes my money. She hands out most of my order, and a young man gives me my coffee. Silent bells go off in my head, as I am thinking, "Why the old switcheroo?" But I didn't think too much of it. I left, and as I attempted to enjoy my cup of Joe, I noticed that there was no cream and no sugar in the coffee. I could tell because, obviously, the coffee was black and it was not very aromatic. That's funny, because I swore I asked for 4 creams and 4 sugars, and also, I had to wait a beat for the coffee, so I assumed that it was fresh. No time to turn around, my meeting was in five minutes. I went to my meeting, and as I returned to my car after a very successful 45 minutes, I thought about leaving it alone and chalking it up to experience. "No," I thought, "I am not going to do that. I am going to reask for my cream and sugar. I didn't want to show off, so I returned to the drive thru. "Hello," I calmly explained. "I was here about an hour ago, and I neglected to get my cream and sugar." The young man instructed me to pull forward, and I did. He handed me a bag, and in the bag was 5 creams and 5 sugars. I added them to the coffee, but like I said before, by the coffee being the way it was, it was still very potent. As I poured the coffee over my pipes and chased it with hot water, I thought, I'm coming back tomorrow. And here I am, at my usual coffee place, enjoying life. Krispy Kreme is so bad for you but they taste sooooo good! My greedy tail, usually gets the three pack. Tonight i stopped by for my usual 3 pack and it consisted of a Raspberry filled donut, a regular glazed donut, and a chocolate ice cream filled. The donuts are always so fresh and so good. The customer service tonight was very good. 2 of the most important things that matter to me are good customer service and good food. Good job Krispy kreme! read more

Trash. Ghetto employees, stale donuts, and flavorless coffee are among the many reasons for my 1 star rating. The employee at the window forgot my order and asked for it again when I pulled up. The donut was very stale and the coffee tasted like cardboard: the employees were talking and playing on their phones when I was being served which caused me to have to wait minute. This is the second time we've ordered from the app for delivery from this store and the second time something has been missing from our order. No notification, just a half delivered order. Todays was late also. I've sent a note to KK but I'm not holding my breath for a refund. Either they forgot to put my order in the bag or they were out of cinnamon rolls. Kristy Kreme used to be great but this Richmond location has gone down hill. The "Hot Doughnuts Now" sign is never on. My husband went through the drive-thru today (a Saturday morning) and ordered a dozen of the original glazed donuts. The order wasn't right. He got home with 12 mixed donuts. They were all stale and clearly made yesterday. If you don't make fresh donuts for customers on a Saturday morning, when do you ever make them? I definitely think quality control needs to be addressed with management. read more

This franchise location typically has friendly people working there but lately Management here has been lacking due to incorrect orders and a lack of friendly customer service towards customers. I recently witnessed one employee (possibly management) bitching out another employee. It's very unprofessional to do that in front of customers especially small children who just want a sweet treat. My suggestion is that the franchise owner become more active in hiring quality workers at this location. Everyone has bad days but if an employee is acting like it's defcon 1 over some donuts, then due to inadequate stress tolerance, that person should do some thing else, like work at a library. read more

I ordered 6 lemon-filled and 6 glazed creme-filled (my absolute favorite and the reason I drive across town for these). I got 5 lemon-filled, 1 raspberry-filled, and 6 original glazed. If I could give 0 stars I would, I came on the $0.89 a dozen day and was told oh so conveniently at exactly 23:00 that they were out of donuts. I wouldnt be as upset if they had told me they were closed but to lie and say you're out of donuts like nobody would think or know otherwise (when your whole process and kitchen is on display) is beyond me. I had been waiting at least an hour in line and had drove 40+ minutes to my closest Krispy Cream after getting off from a 12 hour shift. How convenient of them to run out of donuts at 23:00, on the dot, after I had already seen all the donuts that were prepared to be baked on the conveyor belt while waiting in line. I can speak for a lot of people in saying I'm very disappointed and honestly I feel like my time was not respected. Now I have to drive 40+ minutes back home with nothing. This could've been done differently, ppl who waited in line should've been able to get a raincheck or something. Out of all the people working there, somebody couldve came out and stopped more people from getting in line so that people who were just getting in line didnt have to waste their time and so that those who DID wait could get donuts or raincheck. I will be talking to corporate about the procedure this location decided to take regarding this promotion. This location is near Willow Lawn and has been a pillar in Richmond for quite some time when it was the only Krispy Kreme location. There's nothing like being in the area and seeing that hot sign lit. You can usually smell the donuts during this time as you drive by. They now have a rewards system where you can download their mobile app. When you first sign up, you get a free donut. Whenever they have deals and specials, you will get notified via app or email based upon your preferences. There's a section with tables and seats if you want to eat your donuts there. They also have coffee, frozen drinks, soda, juice, and milk. read more

Manager Connor is one of the worst managers I have ever seen. Never have I heard a manager tell customers "if they have an attitude they can leave they must not want the doughnuts bad enough". Nobody was working the cash register and he was standing around with no idea of what was going on. It takes a lot to ruin a good doughnut and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts have been in Richmond a long time and have consistently made a good product. Their doughnuts are made each day and they are FRESH. They have kept up with the times by adding their own blend of coffee. I bought a Raspberry filled Doughnut and asked if they would fill it will some Vanilla Creme... They could not be more accommodating to your request. The service and people are 5 star plus. The doughnuts feel and taste like they just came out of the fryer.... I would go often however, my belt will run out of holes... however when I do go, I do enjoy my dozen. Take a look at the Raspberry/Creme doughnut and tell me that this is not out of this world... Thank God for the little old lady from Louisiana that the original owner bought the recipe from back in the 1930's. Things have probably been altered a bit over the decades but these donuts are delicious. FYI: Don't waste your time with the pre-packaged ones in the store. Seriously. If I hear one more person say "Just put them in the microwave. They'll be fine." *blank stare* Look for the hot light to be on. What does that mean? It means that those delectable deep fried disks of confectionary delight (too much?) have just gone through the donut assembly line. I posted pictures which give you an idea of how they are made. The benefit of this location if you're curious like me (I blame kid shows like Mr. Rogers and Reading Rainbow), then you'll find it fascinating to see the donut making process happen right before your eyes. It's a great location to bring children just for this very reason. And the restrooms are usually pretty clean. In all of my years of coming here I've never had a bad experience with quality of product or customer service. There may be times later at night or in the wee hours of the morning (24 hour drive thru) that the staff may not be perky but who needs perky when you can get a hot donut that was JUST MADE? Many of their glazed donuts are super sweet so if you are not partial to that then stick with some of their more cake-like fare. Krispy Kreme also offers fresh coffee, hot chocolate, smoothy-like concoctions and milk if you need something to wash down the goodness. The coffee is adequate. What's cool about this location is that the drive thru is open 24 hours! So you can basically stop by here anytime! I recently went here on December 12 because there was a buy one dozen, get one dozen free. I've got to tell you, it was so crowded here! It really felt like Black Friday when I came. Employees weren't friendly. We ordered a dozen donuts and were given ones that were not fresh. They were hard - like when you get them from the box at the grocery store. So I asked for fresh ones. Lady gave us a filthy look, threw our donuts away (they could have easily been donated or given away to local homeless). She got us another batch and these were considerably fresher but still not fresh. Plus, they didn't taste all that great either. We gave up. The attitudes and overall rude behavior wasn't worth the hassle. My fiance also ordered coffee with 12 sugars and 12 creamers. It came with NO creme or sugar AT ALL. Wouldn't go back to this Krispy Kreme. Drove out of our way to get these dounuts and just... Awful experience. We don't recommend this location in the least. Find another one. read more

Been going here for the past over three years and it's been the same issue every time. There is no other Krispy Kreme near here though they've been talking of building one for over 10 years in the shortcut area but that again has been a project that never comes to fruition. I'm not sure who is in charge of hiring but they need to be fired there is no way that we should be waiting for 30 minutes for three donuts when there is a place full of people and no one working. Literally. No one. Working.
