While driving thru the area I saw this DQ and decided to run in and grab a Blizzard. I got their pumpkin Blizzard, since it's that season now. Service was quick and efficient. The Blizzard tasted pretty good. It wasn't served properly though, as I seem to recall they're supposed to hand it to me upside down. This is the most inconsistent Dairy Queen I've ever visited. There doesn't seem to be any standard for how to serve ice cream. All 3 photos attached are of small cups of ice cream, and you can see that every time the volume and the way they serve it out of the machine is different. Every other DQ I've ever visited typically looks the same each time. The service is pretty abysmal. The employees are typically curt and don't bother to say hello or ask what you'd like when you approach the counter, they just blankly stare at customers. The teens working at the store have bickered with each other, and the adult women working have been gossiping about their acquaintances. The most frustrating thing about this Dairy Queen is the quality of the ice cream itself. Something about the texture is off that leads me to believe their machine isn't set to the correct temperature, or they're not allowing the machine to churn the ice cream long enough. It's always disappointing, and each time I crave DQ and visit this store, I leave wishing I had gone somewhere else. It's a shame this franchise owner doesn't seem to care about the cleanliness, staff, or quality at their store. read more

I don't typically visit or review chains or 'fast food" but for a quick soft serve cone or a blizzard, Dairy Queen hits the spot. We were greeted right when we walked in by a very pleasant employee who chatted with us while taking and preparing our order. Nice serving sizes. these people work so hard! this dairy queen closes at 9pm... my group of 20 walked in at 8:45, 10more walked in at 8:55, and these people were able to meet the demand of nearly 30 customers at the same time! they kept a great attitude and served every ice cream with a smile. awesome workers! read more

My kids wanted DQ so badly, so we all went for Blizzards. The store is located in a pretty busy shopping center off of Broad St. The manager was very active in and out of the store. I stayed in the car while the kids went inside, but I watched him opening the door for customers, taking napkins to customers outside the store, and keeping the door clean. The service was quick & my kids said the cashiers were kind of nice. They were able to get our treats fast, and that was the point. Masks were required & the store is small, but they tried to enforce social distancing between themselves and the customers. They had tables between them and the front counter. July 20, 2025 this DQ had no chocolate ice cream. Since that's all I wanted we left. How can a DQ not have chocolate ice cream?

Please note: the ice cream was good-the review is about customer service (not manager related) and how I almost walked out today...I'm old school and people used to be required to wear hair bonnets or hats to keep hair away from product when working in the food industry. I came in to treat myself for my birthday and I've been in this location before. The manager is awesome, fast, always professional and wears her hair in a tight bun with nothing visible on or around her face. When I came today she was walking towards the back and there were a few younger workers making ice cream. The young lady that took my order was polite but she just kept repeatedly running her hand through her hair, trying to keep it out of her face I guess...she was talking to a coworker while making my blizzard so she wasn't really watching but her long hair was dangerous close to my open blizzard cup while she carried on a conversation with her coworker while waiting to dip toppings on the ice cream blizzard. Even though she had on a visor, her hair was long and not really tied up at all. Part of it was hanging way past the visor and It's really easy to go from clean to unclean when dealing with food prep and I was uncomfortable and a bit repulsed that people are working with food products but not a bit more cautious in terms of possible contamination. I don't want to think that I'll get home and see someone's hair in my food. In light of Covid it seems like companies would be more careful. No gloves used, no barrier to keep hair or germs away from ice cream... a tight bun with a visor if you have long hair and other precautions should be standard in this type of environment ....but don't keep putting your hands in your hair while you're fixing my stuff...to me that's another aspect of customer service...please do better... read more

Dairy Queen has been one of the staples of my childhood, and this location never fails. Today, I ordered a mini Blizzard - the caramel cannonball is great if you love caramel. My only qualm was that my server didnt flip it upside down! :( I also sampled my friends' Blueberry Cheesecake Blizzard (very light with good flavors) and an Oreo Cookie Jar Blizzard (too sweet and heavy, we couldn't finish). One thing I love about this DQ location is the great sitting area outside, and I will definitely be coming back on nice warm days. read more

When I needed a cake the next day for my wife's birthday party, they did NOT say they needed 48 hours notice, but worked with me to make it happen. This location could be a bit better, its small and when I arrived a family of 3 was being served inside and given their 4 patron limit I waited outside. Another trip to Costco and again their ice cream machine didn't work . This time I knew exactly where to go.. back to DQ . This time I decided to try the orange dreamcycle dip. It was great but I went with the large which was very big a little too much on a 90 degree day. The coating did help the melting a little. DQ will be a regular stop on Costco days. Probably the best place to get ice cream in the West End! You may come for the great ice cream, but you'll be blown away by the great staff. Upon entering store I was greeted by an all star employee Dylan who quickly went thru a long line of hungry customers and made them their frozen treats. Dylan's recommendation of a M&M blizzard was on point as it was one of the best ice cream mixes I've ever had. The whole staff deserves credit for having a clean, quick moving, and friendly store. This place really brings back the old school ice cream parlor feel to the Innsbrook area! The hipster crowd can have Gelati Celesti all they want but for me I'll take Dairy Queen any day of the week! read more

Picked up daughter's bday blizzard cake yesterday. Manager there is always great and very friendly. However, when I looked at the oreo blizzard cake it looked like whoever decorated it just took two fistfuls of oreo crumbs and threw in on in two places on the cake including on top of the birthday message. When we cut the cake, it fell apart with a gaping hole in between the ice cream layers, with all the cookie crumbs spilling out on the plate. My family has loved coming to this Dairy Queen for years. The man who runs it is always friendly and the ice cream is always yummy!

What's even better than the delicious ice cream is the friendly atmosphere. We are always greeted with a smile, and the manager goes out of his way to make us feel welcome. Their soft serve ice cream is so creamy and hits the spot on a hot day, or even on a cold one. I ordered an ice cream cake for my husband for Valentine's Day, and it was beautiful and super yummy. My husband came up to your counter tonight for ice cream. He is 70 years old. The dark haired, heavy set woman who waited on him had no mask on. She was in his face taking the order, less than 2 feet away. I tried to call back to the store and no one answered, in fact they hung up the phone without speaking. Your employee potentially exposed many people to the corona virus because she was too lazy to wear a mask. She should not be allowed to work without a mask on. Great Staff! Well made product with appropriate sizes. Outdoor seating is good. Indoor seating not so great. Needs to be a little cleaner in lobby area. Things behind the counter look great in regards to cleanliness. Turn on Dominion then scoot in shopping center side entrance if you take Cox you end up making a U Turn way down the road. We had a potluck for work and I decided to bring ice cream cake because who can resist ice cream cake!? The owner was really helpful and explained the different cakes to me, but I needed a big sheet cake and all those were already decorated with happy birthday and congratulations. He offered to cover up the words with oreos so you couldn't see the hidden message underneath, which saved the day! While I waited he gave me an ice cream cone and we chatted about the business. I really like people who are passionate about their work and he was telling me how there aren't that many DQs left so he is grateful that his is still standing. Seriously love this Dairy Queen. It is never out the door crowded...although I'm sure they wish it was. They are open late at least in the summer. So you can take your kids here after bribing them all day. My daughter was 70cents short and they still gave her the sundae. I had to drag it outa her and I paid them....how nice are they??!!! No one does that stuff anymore. Lots and lots of parking and you can sit outside and eat. Lots of people bring their doggies to sit out and eat. Dogs are like vacuums. Came in for a quick treat. I ordered some ice cream that had brownies and chocolate in it. Chocolate is not really my thing but this was delicious! When my order was ready, before giving it to me they flipped my cup over to prove that it would stay in place -it did. I ordered a small but to my surprise it had so much in there. 3 issues with visits to this Dairy Queen this week. 1). They closed at 9:20pm Sunday 7/29/18 despite having advertised hours of open until 10pm. 2). Visited evening of 7/30. The place is filthy. Counter was littered with trash and "sprinkle" debris. Open trash bin overflowing with trash behind the counter where the orders are being prepared. Floor was dirty. 3). Evening of 7/30 --- no chocolate sauce for "dip" cones. Isn't that a DQ signature classic? If it wasn't for the brand, they would get 1 star. This DQ does no favors to the DQ brand. read more
