I used to be totally and completely addicted to Krispy Kreme donuts. My favorite way of eating Krispy Kreme donuts was fresh off the donut rollers. Currently, I only purchase Krispy Kreme as a special treat if I have worked out in 2-3 fitness classes and only one donut. However, my Krispy Kreme purchase was not targeted for me but husband for Valentine's Day. In addition to buying him flowers and a Valentine's gift, I bought him the cutest heart shaped donuts. Social media gets you every single time! I saw these heart shaped donuts advertised on one of the social media channels and could not resist all that stinking cuteness. When I went in to purchased the donuts, there were several customers also purchasing the heart shaped donuts. In addition, there were about 8-10 dozens of donuts awaiting pickup. Very busy environment.. My hubs enjoyed his heart shaped donuts. read more

I asked for hot donuts. This was not hot. They had a special going on and they did not promote. Customers were surprised to learn of the 89th anniversary and their special, but they were not offering to in store clients. I could have bought at an another store since the food was not hot and fresh. Very disappointing. Do better with your foot traffic. The line was long and no effort was made to help the cashier. read more

Took my son for an after dinner treat and when we saw the light on (hot and ready) Went in and just stood at the counter was not greeted so I began to order. Girl walked to get gloves and asked me what I wanted even though I just told her so I repeat it. She curtly completed the transaction so we left. No thank you We noticed that the people behind us made a smaller order but they had three complimentary donuts. I was quite irritated by the difference in treatment. I tried to give it another chance! My donut doesn't have that airy Krispy Kreme taste at all. The atmosphere here is very dry. The service is okay, but not the friendlist. The donuts taste like last night wrapped in lunch time glaze! I will not be going back . I have had Krispy Kreme donuts all of my life and this location has been the worst consistently! We ordered two dozen, but we were charged for three dozen. If we had not specifically requested our receipt, the cashier would not have told us about the overcharge. This makes me concerned that this may have happened to other customers as well. When we asked how long it would take for the refund to be credited back to our account, the employee was extremely rude, dismissive, and disrespectful. Instead of apologizing for the mistake or trying to resolve the situation professionally, we were treated poorly. This experience was very disappointing. I hope this incident is investigated to ensure other customers are not overcharged and that employees are held to a higher standard of customer service. read more

I remember Krispy Kreme trips as a kid being the highlight of my day. Fast forward 25 years and I have finally made it back to one with my son. Didn't know his eyes could get so big. We literally sat and watch the donuts go round and round for 15 mins straight. The employees were all incredibly friendly and the place was spotless. We snacked on a hot donut right off the rack before walking out with a few more. Not much more to say beyond this place rocks. Check it out. read more

Kristy Kreme isn't the same as how I remember it from 20 years ago in terms of the atmosphere when we go inside the store. We used to watch them flip fresh donuts even late in the evening - I haven't seen them do that the last few times we've been here. Regardless, their original glaze is still fresh, light and amazing tasting as I remember. We came at 2 PM on a Saturday afternoon to pick up a dozen original glaze , to our surprise, we got a fresh batch - not hot, but still fresh. The workers here are kind and know to get the work done. I'm glad we still have this childhood donut establishment to obey my craving whenever I have one for a KK original glaze. read more

The employees were very snappy and acting with a racist tinge in their tone. I was being charged full price despite the promotion they were running. I had to remind them of their own promotion so I wouldn't be charged full price. This establishment has gone downhill decidedly quick in the past few months. I will no longer be giving them my business after how I was treated and received. read more

I wish I could improve the stars on my previous review, but service is still sub-par. Why aren't these employees even mildly engaging or pleasant? It's not like they clearly hate their jobs, but I feel like they are bored or annoyed. The donuts haven't changed. As a national chain they have processes in place that ensure this (hopefully!). So if I really want a mini donut I'll probably hit the drive-thru, but seriously, I wish management would see this and do something. read more

People are just rude. Ordered online to pickup. Couldn't order the 'special' donuts online. Figured they were out. Finally got to window and asked. They said they had plenty. Explained couldn't order online and could I have a half dozen. She said no I'd have to back around to end of line. I was like huh?? She said I'm the manager and you have to go back in line. And rudely. Unbelievable! Now I remember why I hate this place. read more

Donut was decent, but the experience was frustrating. I asked for a cup of tap water and was told they wouldn't provide one. I've never had that happen at a food place in Texas before. Small thing, but it left a bad impression. read more

I visited the store today for the very first time and I love how they blend a lot of Austin/local elements into their store design. The best part of visiting a physical Krispy Kreme store is you get to see the making process. I always love standing behind the glass and watch those doughnuts being fried and flipped. Such a fun experience:) Since it's the National Doughnut Day today, they're offering free doughnuts for everyone (any flavor of your choice)! I got the original glazed, which is my all-time-favorite. For some reasons the doughnuts I saw in store today seems much smaller than all others that I used to see. Not sure if it's the shrink-flatiron, but I hope it's just a one-day thing. read more

So I wanted to make sure that I am clear that the staff is lovely, the donuts are yummy, I mean it's Krispy Kreme right? So why would this scorned eater give Krispy Kreme donuts a 2? Easy. The level of inconsistency in the shape and size of donuts has ripped me off 3 times now. I paid $13.49 (something like that) for a dozen donuts. Look how small they are. I have to conclude that either A) the staff does not know how to consistently make same sized donuts or B) some staff members give me the mini donuts instead of the real sized donuts. These donuts which were fresh were harder, and not as squishy as you'd like. I'd love feedback of anyone else experiences this inconsistency. Either way, would anyone else be slightly ticked that these donuts caused that much? I think for a chain the training should be perfected by now to make appropriate sized donuts. Or not mistake them for mini donuts. read more

Negative vibes. From everyone in this store. Person took my $20 bill marked it with a pen. Then held it up to the light to check its authenticity. I was wondering if she was going to pop it! Once before I heard the manager tell a man and his daughter "Here again for another free donut, it's beginning to be a habit for you" He was shaming them. Today the machine was down so no fresh donuts. They came from another store. Same as buying from Walmart. Gross. Early in the morning. So my first bite was cold and stale. Sorry these donuts are only good if they are fresh and warm. They have a rainbow Christmas tree. Everyone's in a bad mood! Doesn't make sense. Female whooshed my receipt to me. Typical Krispy Kreme quality. Never had to use a drive thru however. I did like that there were combos offered. The sausage jalapeno didn't make the mark compared to local favorite Lone Star Kolaches. A glazed donut and a Dr. Pepper rounded out my order. GF's order was a maple flavor, glazed, and a coffee with 4 sugars and three creams. She guessed and somehow the outcome was pleasant on the morning joe. Receipt is too akin to all the CVS 4 foot long jokes. Appreciated a trash can outside for quick disposal Reason for one star, I was attempting to converse with the drive thru dude. He handed us all our food while taking payment only saying "blah, blah, blah". Saturday morning, June 6, 2020 7:30am. Not a pleasant experience to be treated in such a manner. read more

Donuts are great. However the staff are uneducated, rude & lazy when it comes to customer service. Especially at this location. Drive thru staff wanted to start an argument with what we ordered. Clearly we knew what we ordered and the IDIOT at the drive thru beg to differ and shut the drive thru whining to the other staff. Real classy! I went by on St. Patrick's Day to try the green doughnuts. The young female employee asked how she could help me. I asked for one doughnut. The employee did not move or say anything. I repeated myself and nothing. I spoke louder the third time and nothing. The male chimed in very rudely and said you have to pay for that. I have never known a place of business to give for away for free and remain open. I responded and said fine. I just wanted to taste the doughnut and flavor. The guy kept saying it ain't free. I repeated to him that I was paying. I never asked for a free doughnut or sample. I observed the guy with other customers and it was clear he is bad at customer service. While waiting at the cash register the female employee decided to have a conversation about me to the cashier. I stared at them and walk closer to say I am right here and that is rude. She knew she had made a mistake when I brought my phone out to document this interaction. This was an awful experience just to get a doughnut. This place has gone downhill. I used to buy my employees and coworkers doughnuts from here all the time and never had any issues in the past. However this left a sour taste in me and observing the other interactions. read more

Very special treatment on Valentine's Day when I went. The girls at the drive thru window were so kind.

Wouldn't give them the one star if I could avoid it. Pull up to the drive thru, order a hot chocolate. They don't have it. Ok, do they have mocha lattes? They do. Can I have a hot one? No, we only have frozen. Do you have any hot lattes? No, we only have drip coffee. Can I have one of those with milk? No, we won't give you milk in it, you have to pour the milk yourself. Donuts were fresh and delicious. Workers were very and gave us two sample donuts. Restaurant was very clean.

I used to come in to this place each weekend for a dozen donuts for a kids class I teach. I'd order a coffee for myself, and because of COVID and not wanting to touch more things that needed and to socially distance, I'd ask them to put a splenda in the coffee. This went on for months, until one day a cashier told me she wouldn't put the splenda in my coffee -- I'd have to do all of that myself. Now this is of course something they do for the drive through customers. The packets of sugar etc are right next to the cashier, its minimal effort for them to do it, and it helps avoid me spreading or taking germs from others that touched that coffee bar. I told her if she wouldn't put it in my coffee, I didn't want the coffee. She asked a manager to come over to remove it from the bill. The manager didn't ask if there was an issue. Didn't seem to care what was going on. Just keyed in the code then walked back to where they were previously. This place definitely suffers from a customer service problem. Lucky there are donut joints right before it, and right after it, on Research Blvd. read more
