I love the blueberry cake donuts, but the donut holes almost made me crash my car when I ate one on the drive home, still warm from the fryer. Try the donut holes when they reopen!!! The apple fritters are as big as a man's head. I love the double chocolate ones. Never tried the maple bacon. They have coffee and beverages and breakfast tacos, but I think the breakfast tacos taste a little sweet, like they got a little bit of powdered sugar on them just because they are made in a donut shop. This is not a criticism, just an observation. KC Donuts was damaged by a fire in October 2024 but I am anxiously waiting for them to reopen! No other donut will do. read more

Ahh... after years of searching, I have found a rival for Round Rock Donuts. KC makes great raised donuts - I was in heaven when I bit into the strawberry glazed one. The dough is so soft and gives into the bite... a heavenly experience. Their cases of donuts look all freshly made, not like they have been sitting our for half a day. I love freshly made anything and this checks the box. I also tried Boston creme, which was a thicc donut. It was tasty but I wish it was a little smaller so it could be more flavorful/manageable to eat. The cake donuts are goo, not great. They are too sweet, especially the maple one. My partner tried their kolache and he loved it. The workers were very helpful and even though there was a line, it moved quickly on the weekend day that we dropped by. read more

Wow! I can't believe I slept on this place! It came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Some of the best customer service I've experienced in ATX! A small, cozy, but welcoming environment. As I was leaving, the shop filled up and out the door. I tried the maple bacon donut and bacon, egg, and cheese croissant sandwich. Both were delicious. They threw in a few donut holes, too. The internet was down so I couldn't pay with card. I had cash on me, but not enough. I did have some more cash in the car, and I was going to get it, but she smiled and said to take it and enjoy. KC Donuts has more than just donuts (& those donuts aren't basic either). KC Donuts offers fresh-to-be-made Breakfast Tacos, a variety of gourmet donuts (maple bacon, lemon, blueberry lemon, etc), kolaches, AND MORE. My personal favorite is a classic-- the glazed donut. However, I highly highly recommend ordering the massive Texas-Sized Donut Holes!!!! Also, the Breakfast Tacos and salsa were perfect. You basically order what you want to be made. It does take a bit of time since once again, these need to be made. Kolaches were meh to me, as the ratio of bread/sausage had too much breading. Austin has some bougie donut places, but spending $4-$6 per donut is a little ridiculous when places like KC Donuts are just as good, if not better, and much more affordable. The maple bacon donut was superb, as were the donut holes and the blueberry donut. My partner also loved his standard chocolate glazed donut. The donuts were airy with a nice crispy outside and not too oily. I'd argue they should pull back on the sugar a little, but that would be my only tweak. I also was served immediately and probably spent about 120 seconds in the store total, which is perfect for grab and go. I'm conflicted on whether I will go back (soon), because this place is too good, too convenient, and I'm trying to watch my weight and sugar intake. I only come here for their gigantic donut holes. Been here a few times, and I am a sucker for their donut holes. Especially when they come out fresh early in the morning. By the end of the day, the quality isn't quite the same...so I highly suggest going when you have an early start to your day! My go-to donut is the old-fashioned donut, and I also feel like their old fashion is a bit too soft. I'd like a little bit of a crunchier bite, but that's just me being picky. They also serve breakfast tacos, but they ALL have meat in it...so my vege-eaters, beware! They also have a no credit card rule if your order is less than $5 I believe, so make sure you have that dinero on you. Service has always been efficient and nice, so I would come back again for the folks. Their donut shop is unassuming with only a few seating options indoors, but some more outdoors.
