Machi Machi came on my radar as it seems to be a popular chain on the east coast. I couldn't find a Machi Machi in LA, so I decided to come here. I thought their drinks were very unique and different from what you'd find at a lot of boba places, especially in LA which is a large mecca of boba varieties to choose from. I went for the mochi black tea with cream foam since having mochi on a skewer sit in my drink was a new concept to me. Overall, I thought the idea was executed well. It was the right amount of sweetness and the mochi was a nice add on to the black tea. The cheese cream wasn't too thick that it dissolved well into the black tea. It is a bit expensive for boba, but since I was a tourist on vacation i was willing to spend a little more to try something different. If I were a local, I'd probably come here less if there were cheaper options around. Unfortunately, I didn't spend a lot of time in Toronto to go back a second time to try their other drinks. I was also intrigued by their panna cotta drinks which appear to be their best sellers. I'll definitely come back to Machi Machi if I'm in Toronto again or at one of their other locations.

I tried their very popular creme brulee milk tea with light sugar and I'll tell you to not order it with light sugar - it doesn't taste that good without the regular level of sweetness. The creme brulee on the top was a thick layer of torched cream that went smoothly with the drink. The staff were nice here and they have a few chairs if you want to sit and have your drink inside. I love how they have their menu is displayed as a giant tissue roll - very creative!

On 2020-01-17, they introduced 4 new seasonal drinks: 1) White Peach Yakult, 2) Double Froasted Frosty with Mozza Foam, 3) Fresh Lemon Yakult, 4) Strawberry Matcha Latte. For Jan 17-18, you get 20% these 4 flavours. On 2020-01-18, I was a Tru foodie, fighting a snowstorm, to try these drinks. Ok, the 20% discount helped! I bought 2) and 4). For the Strawberry, it was nice with real strawberries in the drink. For the Double Roasted Frosty, the taste was good but I recommend getting 50% sugar because it was quite sweet. They also offer catering. There is no free WiFi or washrooms. There are 7 stools, one round table and one counter. Most people would order for takeout.

The kanten jelly were so chewy and bouncy; it's a fun alternative to your typical pearl toppings. The brulee was not overly sweet which we really liked. I ordered the signature keemun black lemon tea and the taning inky-black lemon tea. Signature Keemun Black Tea is similar to the hong kong cafe lemon tea 港式柠檬茶. I personally think 50% sugar is enough, but if you cant do sourness, i would go with 75% and 100%. The Taning Inky black lemon tea 鸭屎香柠檬茶 iis a bit more sour comparing to above. So get 75 or 100% sugar. Overall i think the drinks are great, and if it is too sour, just go back and ask for more sugar, the servers are super understanding and kind! The tapioca was the perfect texture, not too hard and not too soft. It was also coated in brown sugar which was the winning point for me. It made the drink more flavourful than the ones I've tried from other stores. Overall, it was a really good drink. Definitely recommend to anyone who likes brown sugar drinks.

I ordered a medium Chestnut mochi tea creme with 30% sugar and no ice. After a few minutes, my order number was called. The tea was very lightly sweet, almost a hint of sweetness~ There was a generous amount of cream and pecan on top. At the bottom, there were lots of chestnut and mochi pieces. It was refreshing! There is a large self-order kiosk to order the drinks. It accepts credit and debit. It is available in English and Chinese languages. We ordered the following: 1. Chestnut Mochi Tea Creme (large $7.50): little pieces of chestnut on top 2. Fortune Tea (Roselle) ($7.50): little chopped pieces of rose leaf on top 3. Lychee Tea Creme (medium $6.50) 4. Ovaltine Milk Tea (medium $6.50): has crushed ice and crunchy bits I love drinks with crushed ice so obviously I loved the Ovaltine Milk Tea. The Fortune Tea is made with Roselle tea and I also liked it. The other two drinks are pleasantly subtle. This restaurant is located inside a food hall called "BOLD Food Hub", which had a soft opening on 2022-01-13. There is a reasonably large seating area shared among the 3 restaurants in the food hall, used whenever indoor dining is allowed. There is also outdoor seating whenever the weather allows it. There is a wall mural beside the food stall.  They had a famous artist paint it. Included in the mural is a legendary Chinese Monkey King. During the pandemic, there is plexiglass at the food stall, hand sanitizers are available, and tables are 2 metres apart. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible but there is no door open button.  There is one gender-neutral washroom. I only came for tea and sweets though: Jasmine tea: I got this plain and it was very fragrant and soothing, as jasmine tea should be. It was also brewed perfectly as I did not taste any bitterness at all. Green tea kit Kat macaron: This comes frozen so make sure you let it defrost before eating. I was a bit let down by this as the cream was barely sweet so the matcha flavor couldn't shine through. I tasted a bit of bitterness that must have been from the matcha, but it definitely needed sugar. Weird because usually macarons have the opposite problem of being cloyingly sweet. Silvana (Quezo): My partner liked this so much that he went back the nect day to buy more. We didn'tk now what silvanas were, but it sounded yum and I'm glad we got it. Like the macaron, it came frozen so we had to wait until it defrosted to try. The cheese gave it a salty-sweet flavor (the best kind of flavor, if you ask me) and the texture was soft with a slight bread-chew, kind of like biting into a tempurpedic pillow instead of a regular down one. Either way, sweetness level and texture were just right. Come here for the silvanas and tea, avoid the macarons even though they look cute. We ordered the **matcha red bean drink** and the **mango drink**--both were delicious and definitely fun to try. However, if you're bringing kids who prefer simpler drinks, this might not be the best spot. My kids were hoping for a basic mango drink, which wasn't available, but they still enjoyed what they got. My matcha red bean drink also came with **three rice mochi on a stick**, which was a nice touch! The location itself is inside a **shared space with other restaurants**, so it's not a standalone shop. It's **not stroller-friendly** as there are steps inside, and I didn't see any **high chairs**, so it might not be the most convenient option for families with younger kids. While the drinks were tasty and unique, **it was almost $20 for just two drinks**, so it's definitely on the pricier side. I'd recommend it if you're looking for something different, but keep in mind the cost and setup before going!
