We passed the Krab Kettle a few times and decided to stop in and grab a crab cocktail to try. We were a little late in the day around 5 and so they were sold out of the crab. My husband also wanted the bay shrimp cocktail which he said was ok maybe a little fishy. I am not a fan of bay shrimp due to their mushy texture so I had one small bite. The cocktail sauce was good and I was given some oyster crackers which the kids loved. They also have packets of lemon, hot sauce, salt, and pepper to add on your cocktail. The guy working was friendly and explained that I could always call ahead and order the crab cocktail. They would keep it fridgerated until I was able to pick it up. Would have done that if we weren't leaving at 6 am the next morning. There is a parking lot in the back as well as street parking out front.

BEST CLAM CHOWDER in town!!!!! First things first the chowder is filled with big pieces of clams. These are not your canned variety of clams. Someone went and chucked some clams fresh for the chowder made fresh daily. You have to get their early so it doesn't run out. The base is thick and rich. Each bite is a flavorful mouth full of ocean and land. Thai is literally the best chowder in town. Did I say that already? If your in Florence please do yourself a favor and come on through.

Just got a cup of clam chowder here- but I would come back just to do it again! This spot off just off 101 had the freshest and most clams in my chowder- and I made my way through 2 other cups around town. Fresh soup with pockets of piping hot potatoes. The folks behind the counter were great and made sure we were taken care of to eat our cup ASAP- haha.

The crab and shrimp cocktail enjoyed on the beach! Perfect combination.

Stopped in today and got a half dozen oysters as well as a crab and shrimp cocktail for a beach picnic. It was lovely and fresh. Friendly and efficient service, will definitely make this a regular in my rotation when I'm in town. Literally made my day!

Absolutely amazing clam chowder! I always stop here at Florence when I go to the coast to get a cup of this superb chowder. No, this is NOT a restaurant and you can't eat it inside anywhere, but there are picnic tables outsides. Or if the weather is awful, just eat it in your car. It is so worth it. It comes in a to-go cup or boel, with a spon and crackers, some hot sauce if you ask for it. But is is NEVER done before 12:00, they make it daily from scratch. Returned again today, clam chowder is STILL the best ever on the Oregon coast!

Backside of the shop with free parking if you couldn't get some in front on 101.

The best source for fresh seafood in Florence. Located next to the Visitors Center on U.S. 101.

No big deal though.. we walked around the cute old town and worked up an appetite. The place is small and seating is tight. Our server was super friendly and attentive. My husband ordered the surf (grilled shrimp) and turf (flank steak) with a side salad and mashed potatoes. I had the crab encrusted halibut with basmati rice& edamame and a Cesar salad. We started off with cocktails. Husband had a long island iced tea and I had a Jim Beam Manhattan. Cocktails were average. Manhattan had too much vermouth and the Long Island had a lot of sour... But a lot of time I think that comes down to preference. It took a long time to get our food. It was crowded and our server was clearly doing her best. The food looked good. The server said she was waiting for steak knives, so my husband just used the regular butter knife for his steak. The steak was a little tough and lacked flavor. Would have added salt and pepper to it if there was shakers on the table, but didn't want to ask for them. The fish was nice. I didn't really get "crab encrusted". I'm sure it was there but really it just tasted like breaded and fried halibut. The rice and salad were delicious. Overall everything was good. I wouldn't say excellent. And for the price, I would have expected better. But it wasn't bad. There looks to be a lot of other great restaurants that might have a little nicer atmosphere that we would try before coming here again. Overall, I would skip the steak. (Although the chimichurri one would probably be really good). And stick with their flooffy cocktails. The fish was good. And make reservations

It's usually loud with children and older folks talking, and that's okay. I go there for the fish and chips. It's really all about expectations. When I look for a fish and chips joint based on good reviews, and I am not blown away, I can leave disappointed. However, when I know going in not to expect miracles, above average can be what the doctor ordered. Enter Mo's. I had the cod. I prefer battered, but the fish isn't bad for breaded. It's delicate and properly fried, and without the taste of overworked oil. I give it a 6 out of 10 score. The fries have a coating of some sort that helps them stay crispy. Whoever invented doing that needs to win a James Beard Award. I also had clam chowder, which was rock solid, but my socks are still on my feet. To drink I had a Virgin Mary, which is a Bloody Mary without the vodka. It was pretty good. I highly recommend it for those behind the wheel who crave that distinctive flavor. Solidly average, but still okay.

We were brought to a table with a lovely view of the water and took our time with the menu. Our server had a trainee with her and was very kind and patient with her. We ordered the shrimp artichoke dip as an appetizer, the crispy chicken burger with onion rings, and the cod sandwich with clam chowder. The dip was so good! It was very oily, a little too oily for my taste, but the flavor was fantastic and it wasn't fishy at all. I do wish they gave us more bread, though, as we ran out and still had dip leftover. The chicken sandwich was good, but the chicken was too small so some bites were just bun and lettuce. The onion rings were fine but needed more salt and seasoning. The chowder was alright but was oily and a bit gritty. I've had better clam chowder down the street for sure. The staff were busy but nice. We weren't left alone for too long. I did wish we were given water refills, the whole meal we only had one glass of water each which isn't enough when you are eating salty seafood. The restaurant was pretty clean and tables were turning over quickly. They have their own dedicated parking lot, but if you can't find a spot there is also plenty of street parking. All in all this was a fine place to eat. It was fairly affordable for a tourist town, but it was pretty oily. The dip was the best part, even with how oily it was. Without the dip this would have been a 3-star visit, but the dip definitely bumped it up a bit.

We got menus quickly and were able to place our orders within ten minutes of arriving, a huge improvement from the last place! My burger was cooked well and the fries were delicious. The burger was pretty basic and didn't blow me away, but it hit the spot. The patty melt was also great and my friend ate all of it. It was all great! The restaurant space was clean and had plenty of space to move around. It smelled good too, like garlic and butter. The bathrooms were single-person and gender-neutral which I appreciated. There is plenty of street parking so you shouldn't have a problem finding a place to park to get here. I just drove up and down half of the Oregon coast and tried several different supposedly "the best" clam chowder and verified what I already know; out of all of the best, this is the best best. It's real chowder, everything in it is delicious and you could have it as a meal with nothing else. I'll give it a 3.95/4 because I'm going to continue to try to find the best. The atmosphere is also very unique, with all of the firefighter memorabilia, and pub style. But I've never had bad service here and I've been coming back for the better part of 20 years. Try the chowder!!

I waited at the self-checkout for about 10 minutes just to turn in a can deposit ticket. When nothing happened, I went to a regular checkout instead. The cashier, an older woman named Sue, was immediately rude and dismissive. When I tried to hand her the ticket, she told me I had to go back to self-checkout and wait, claiming it was "not possible" to give me the money from her register. That's simply not true--I've turned in can deposit tickets at this exact Safeway through regular checkout multiple times before. Instead of helping or explaining calmly, she talked down to me and made the situation unnecessarily difficult. Policies don't excuse disrespect, and misinformation definitely doesn't help customers. This interaction wasted my time and guaranteed I won't be seeking help from that employee again.. I don't understand why people hire Rude individuals.
