Awesome two patty smash burger with yummy twice fried fries! Pelican IPA and a gin and tonic in the background.

This is a bistro/restaurant at the north end of Driftwood Shores resort on Heceta Beach in Florence. We are locals and it was our first time here. We had read that it was under new management and expected a full-on table service menu. Not so, we had to order and pay/tip at the counter before we got our food. We almost turned around and walked out but wanted to try the food. They are trying to get table service back but perhaps there is not enough business to bring it back. We had last stepped in here a year or so ago when it was a deli. Nothing was changed inside. My designer wife said the decor is horrible and screams WAKE ME UP! Tired white paint on the walls and almost zero artwork. There are some pieces of metal artwork in a few places on the walls but that is it. Paint is cheap and could make a world of difference with different colored window trim and wall (and the ceiling looks like it has not seen paint in years). Get some artificial plants and a couple trees. This place needs a marketing wake up call. Get on Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and other social media and advertise. Get something to pull in people, especially locals. This is the ONLY RESTAURANT IN FLORENCE THAT IS ON THE BEACH, FOLKS! Take advantage of that fact! Even Yachats does not have a restaurant on the beach. Ona is as close as they get, and it is on the river delta near the beach. Sell some updated sweatshirts, t-shirts and hats and offer a free drink if they wear your garb on future visits. Alicia took our orders at the main desk up front and was friendly, energetic, and was very engaged with her clientele. She gave us recommendations on our food, and we loved that. We both had the smash burgers and fries, and they were excellent - exceeding our expectations. The burgers had great, fresh flavor, had yummy, melted cheese, lettuce, tomato and pickles. The sesame bun was a perfect vessel and did not fall apart. The fries were double fried and had a delicious crispy crunch. This place screams potential and needs some upgrades to bring in more business. We will be back but would really like to see it become a landmark restaurant on Florences only beach. We wish them well.

The food was perfect and warm right before a road trip through Florence . I got the chicken tenders , fried and a soda The service was quick and I could see the beach , the ambiance was great !

Found this place by doing a quick Yelp review after touring the Sea Lion Caves. It is on the beach but does not have outdoor seating. It is also located in a hotel, which isn't mentioned in the Yelp reviews. There are only a couple tables but it wasn't crowded (and this was a Saturday during the summer). The food did take awhile to come out, but was surprisingly really good. They also have smoothie, cafe and wine available with their breakfast/lunch options. We sat by the window and could see the dunes and people playing in the water. I am going with 4 stars and not 5 because of the lack of fresh seafood, which is what I think of when picking a restaurant on the beach. The homemade pastries were also amazing...but we forgot to grab photos.

Had bowls of clam chowder that were very tasty, excellent service and view of the ocean.

Hey, it's not bad. They make decent sandwiches and burgers and even have a good wine selection. What makes this place great is I'm pretty sure it's the only place in Florence where you can eat with an ocean view!

Left to right: Market Sub with waffle fries; Coastal Cowboy with tater tots; and Market Burger with cheese, bacon, and fries. DELICIOUS!

Oh, my goodness! What a find! And right here, in our beloved Florence! We've been reading about how good this place is, so we tried it for ourselves, and it did not disappoint!!! Not only was the food divine, but the workers were so exceptionally happy and helpful! Listed from left to right: My brother had the Market Sub with waffle fries; I had the Coastal Cowboy with tater tots; and hubby had the Market Burger with cheese, bacon, and fries. We can't say enough about this place, and we cannot wait to go back! :)

Chicken Caesar salad in a garlic/herb tortilla wrap! Genius.

Food was subpar, service extremely slow and wait staff lacking customer service skills. $15 hotel coupon was not worth it!

Service was really good! Food is okay, I got a smash burger but not what I expected. But you also get really good views of the beach.

Wanting to support a local business made the experience even more special. The cake was absolutely stunning, and the flavor exceeded our expectations. It was rich, incredibly moist, and perfectly balanced--especially impressive for a cake of its size. It was the highlight of the celebration, and our entire family loved it. Thank you for helping make such a special milestone even more memorable!

We were greeted immediately when we walked in. I ordered an Italian soda with peach and strawberry and my friend ordered a cappuccino. My drink was great! It was creamy and fresh tasting. It was made with syrup but it was still so good and refreshing after a long day with lots of walking. They have some housemade treats too, which I've had before and they were good. Since we got there so late in the day they didn't have much available, but last time I got a delicious peanut butter bar that blew me away. The staff were all very friendly and seemed happy. There is a small space with tables inside and a cute little garden outside with a few more tables. The prices were reasonable, about on-par for a tourist town. They have a small parking lot and there is plenty of street parking. The building is a bit hidden so it can be hard to spot if you're on foot but they put signs out when they're open to help people to find. If you're looking for a cute spot to get a treat and a drink, stop in here! They are lovely and have tasty treats.

Service is so friendly - they both didn't stop smiling the whole time we were there. The choices were outstanding! Chocolate, cookies, lemon bars and brownies. We bought orange and raspberry sticks, chocolate Carmel brownie, peanut butter fudge and some of the best divinity fudge w've ever had! It's a cute little building and store with places to eat and have coffee inside. Well worth the 10-15 minute drive from Newport. Much better to us than the candy shops at the bay front or near the aquarium. Will definitely be back.

**Flavor:** Midnight Chocolate Truffle unicornbow…read more **Rating:** 4.5/5 stars The moment I scooped this Midnight Chocolate Truffle into my bowl, I knew I was in for something extraordinary. The color is impossibly dark - a rich, velvety brown that seems to absorb light rather than reflect it. The texture is perfection itself - smooth yet substantial, with none of the icy crystallization that plagues lesser chocolate ice creams. The first spoonful delivers an immediate cocoa explosion that's both intense and nuanced. This isn't your childhood chocolate ice cream. The flavor profile evolves dramatically as it melts on your tongue - starting with a bold, slightly bitter dark chocolate note, then mellowing into something creamier with hints of espresso and vanilla. The finish reveals subtle notes of cherry and almond that linger pleasantly. What truly sets this ice cream apart are the truffle pieces scattered throughout - not too many, not too few. These decadent morsels provide textural contrast and concentrated bursts of chocolate flavor that elevate the experience from merely delicious to transcendent. My only complaint? At $9.99 per pint, it's definitely a splurge. But for special occasions or when you need to reset your chocolate standards, this is absolutely worth the investment. Would I buy it again? Already have. Twice. Have you tried any exceptional chocolate ice creams lately? I'm always looking for recommendations to expand my frozen dessert horizons.
