I hate to give low ratings, especially to a place I have frequented since I was little but the last, I'd say, 6 times my family and I have gone here to eat, we have the absolute shittiest service imaginable. Maybe it's just the night crew?? I don't know. Most of the time there is a young man as the waiter and he seems to only concern himself with the younger crowds and pays little to no attention to anyone else so I had thought that if we went to eat when that boy wasn't working, then maybe things would be better. I was wrong. Last night, a little after 9 pm, my mother, father and myself stopped in to eat. There were 2 middle aged women working. When we came in, only one section was open for seating, 3 tables were open but were dirty and the rest were full so we asked if we could sit in the other section and the ladies said "ok, sit where ever you want". We sat there for half an hour, were given no menus, not asked what we would like to drink... nothing. We already knew what we wanted, so after that half hour of sitting and being ignored, we got up and walked out. Now, I may be wrong here but only having one section open and 2 waitresses taking care of people (all the tables had their food at this time also), I would have thought at least one of the ladies could have come and seen about us. I watched as we sat there and in that half an hour those 3 tables that were empty but were dirty, never got cleaned! And the waitresses weren't running back and forth to other tables either. Again, sorry for the low rating. Kozy, if you are able to fix your issue of customer service and bring it back to the way it used to be, I will be more than glad to come back and give a more positive review. read more

This place has a bad habit of padding your tip. Watch your credit card bill and compare it to your receipt. It has happened several times over the years and they make it a hassle to correct. When I buy wife tips with cash then they will add a tip to your bill after you leave. Will not be going back. This is the only restaurant that this has ever happened to me. read more

This location in particular is not very pleasant. The first time I went in there, there were flies everywhere. My entire meal I had to deal with the constant buzzing of the little things flying around my head while trying to protect my food from them. But at least the service was decent so I let it go and tried to give them another chance. The second time I went, the waiter or (waiters assistant maybe? ) was very obviously completely stoned. He couldn't answer the most simple and basic questions my mother asked about the meals, he spent most of the time we were there either wandering around the restaurant or staring off into space. He was very rude and ignored us for a good while before we were able to order. If I go to this restaurant at all, I go to the one in coos bay, because the service is much better and it's much cleaner. read more

My car would not start after we left Big Lots so we decided to try Kozy Kitchen while we wait for our son to come jump start us. It has a typical cafe vibe. Our server was extremely helpful and nice and kept our cups full. My wife and I both ordered the Kozy Classic Breakfast, two eggs, hash browns, petite chicken fried steak, and toast for 5.95. Super big portion of hash browns and the scrambled eggs looked liked 4 eggs instead of 2. Food was great and sevice even better....its our new spot! read more

Several customers walked out only to have rude comments made after they left by management. It was really the worst place I have ever stopped in at and I will NEVER stop in again. The food is good....if you get the chance to order. I've given this restaurant a couple chances to redeem itself, but every time I do, I'm more and more disappointed. The last two times have been utterly abysmal. The first of the two welcomed our patronage with a wait time of an hour and a half, just to get our food. The waitress was almost non-existent. This last weekend we decided to give Kozy Kitchen one more chance to "wow" us and make up for our last bad experience. Did not happen; it was even worse! We didn't wait an hour and a half for our food, but we DID wait about five minutes before we just walked out. The sign at the door said "Please Seat Yourself", so we did. There we're four or five dirty tables/booths that were empty so we picked one. In the five minutes or so that we were there, waiting to get our table cleaned and our menus brought to us, all other tables were left dirty as well. The waitresses were walking around not being very productive and all the while not even acknowledging our existence. We were finally fed up and went somewhere else. But on the way out I noticed one of the waitresses at the register watching us walk out. Again, not saying a word. Will never go here again. read more

I do not like Kozy. Everyone around here raved on and on about how great it is but I disagree. The food is nearly all mediocre, depending on what your order. Sandwiches and burgers sucks, they cannot fry an egg for the life of them, and I don't think they have cleaned the seats at the booths since it opened. The French toast and sausage links are good and that's all I ever order. Made the mistake of ordering an omelet once and got a soggy meal that was both undercooked in the middle and overcooked at the edges. read more

Recommended by hotel staff as a good breakfast cafe and didn't disappoint. The food isn't showy. Down home diner fare but efficient, clean and customer service amazing. Let's get down to specifics. Ate here for breakfast two days in a row. Menu is so varied but had the chicken fried steak breakfast twice. They have a lighter fare menu but ample with just 2 eggs instead of 3 and and extra piece of toast on the regular menu..all for under seven dollars. Well prepared. My friend had a Denver omelette filled with lots of goodies. The second day went for the lighter fair of eggs and sausage and was very satisfied. While we didn't try them, the pancakes looked Devine while their breakfast burritos were humongous. Let's talk quality next. Hash browns were fresh-tasting and well prepared. Everything was delivered in a timely manner, hot and even left carafe of coffee on the table which I, as a coffee inhaler, appreciate. My friend wanted decaffeinated iced coffee, which wasn't on the menu, but wait staff made it and brought to the table in a shake glass. If you don't see something you want on the menu don't hesitate to ask as they will accommodate you if possible. This brings me to customer service. As a former waitress I know what GREAT service looks like and this place should take pride in their service. From the bus boy, waitress, chef..everyone was great and very playful in customer interactions but still respectful. Can only speak for the morning crew but believe this is in the cafe's culture. Finally, the restaurant is open 24 hours a day. Its clean, bright and appears to be a local hangout.Give it a try. Down-home Americana fare. My favorite and will be back again. I decided to go to most diner for some breakfast and I have been sitting here waiting for creamer for my coffee the waitress said she would bring some when she brought our food. She brought the food and I then asked again for some creamer and now I am done with my food and the whole time I never got any creamer for my coffee and the waiters and waitresses are not paying attention to the customers and socializing . I've seen some reviews on here regarding bad service. Maybe we got lucky, because our server was amazing. Not sure of her name, but she was friendly, helpful and attentive. Our food was quite delicious as well. I had the half biscuit half hash browns and gravy. I had them stack them instead of side by side. It was really good, and I'm usually pretty picky when it comes to restaraunt hash browns. My husband had the special, which was the fish and chips and added a bowl of clam chowder. I didn't try his fish and chips but he seemed to really like it, so did my 2 1/2 year old and she's pretty picky. I did try his clam chowder though and it was pretty tasty. Definitely will go back next time I'm in town. read more

Couldn't tell ya how the food was because we didn't get so much as acknowledged after sitting at the only clean table in the open half of the restaurant (the other half was closed off when we walked in at 8:30 pm... 24 hour restaurant, by the way). Waitress checked on the table next to us (who already had their food) after we'd been sitting there a few minutes (I was already scanning their menu on their website because we hadn't received one yet). Then she looked at the table on the other side of us (who had already gotten to-go boxes for their leftovers) before going back to the kitchen and getting someone else's order. Not a word to us or the couple who walked in right after us and sat at an unbussed table. After bringing the order out, she checked on another table with their food already and, as she was walking back into the kitchen, was asked by that table for some more napkins. She went to get those and after delivering them to the table, she went BACK into the kitchen. That's when we got up and walked out, still without even a glance, although we never saw her come out of the kitchen again as we left. Bless their hearts, I need to say I went 2 different times, because the family members I went with chose to go there, not me. The atmosphere is lacking, floor sticky everywhere. The cleanliness seems lacking. Waited for for dinner order it was aweful. I have to say everyone I was with liked their food. I wasn't impressed. The amount of food is huge but still. Most meats are so overcooked its insane, well over half the menu comes from a can and it really shows. Service is a toss up half the time. Either you get some of the waiters/waitresses who are increidbly nice and go the extra mile or you get a shitty one who constantly screws up your order, cant get your ticket right, overcharges and wants to argue with you about things. The ONLY reason I EVER go here is when NOTHING else is open. Two well trained monkeys and a gorilla could serve up a better menu than the cooks and owners of this place. They have 1 good cook and probably 3-4 good wait staff, give or take. read more

My fiancée and her daughter and i just sat at the corner table to the left side of the dining room for 30 to 40 minutes, watching four other tables that came in after us get drinks and their orders taken. My boyfriend and I came into kozy tonight and WOW!!! the so called "sever" they had working ( a old man) was very rude!! We were the only one's in there and we weren't even acknowledge when we walked in. But thats not why I'm writing this (Ive had problems with this same "sever" on SO MANY times but I have had many awesome severs here as well) The reason for this review is because when I got my food my hashbrowns were so GROSS!!! There was GREASE on the side of plate (it really only takes two seconds to wipe a plate I know this I am a cook myself!!!) I was sharing my hashbrowns with my boyfriend and I touched the top of them and they were greasy, soggy, pretty cold ( and still we are the ONLY PPL IN THE PLACE) I got the bagle sandwhich meat on the side so I was putting hashbrowns on that side place than I said I did not want the hashbrowns they are gross he takes the plate alll pissy like then goes on about what I SHOULD OF DONE DIGFERENTLY cuz I wasted there bacon he even walked away and CAME BACK to tell me how I wasted the bacon so we get up and walk out didnt even eat ANYTHING! Than he even CAME OUT TO OUR CAR to tell me that he would of saved the BACON !!! The negative reviews on here seem a bit absurd to me. Someone even stated that Milk cost the same as a whole gallon, not sure where you're from but $1.50 for a glass of milk is not the same as paying $3.69 for a gallon at the grocery store AND of course you're always going to pay more at a restaurant than if you were to buy the items and cook them yourself at home. That's why you go to a restaurant so you don't have to cook yourself. I would've guessed that was common sense but I guess not. Oh and describing flies buzzing around the restaurant seriously? I think that whole review was made up. It's one of the cleanest restaurants I've ever been to. I've been to Kozy Kitchen dozens of times and absolutely love it. It's like Denny's but better. Food is great. Ranch sauce is home made. You can get anything on the menu and not go wrong. Breakfast and lunch are equally amazing. Their American Breakfast burritos are HUGE!!!
