Leftovers of a burnt end pork belly Benedict & potatoes! The original presentation was much nicer & larger!

It's been ages, like 20+ years since I've been here. The interior does remind me of some pubs in Germany, the music was wild & out of place- think old show tunes...Fun, and a little bizarre. I can't say that German food really comes to mind when I want to dine out. Having worked there for several months in my early 20's, the food was often not the easiest to digest (and I was mostly a vegetarian...) Today I met a friend for brunch & we happily enjoyed our meal. Getting there @ 10am on Sunday, it was quiet & I was concerned, but the super friendly staff were encouraging. My server was confused if they had grapefruit, but turns out they do (sort of). I ordered a salty dog, but it was unexpectedly very sweet, maybe the juice had added sugar. More like grapefruit soda. Not a big deal, but I'll order wine or off their drink menu next visit. On to the food, which was delicious. I ordered the burnt end pork belly Benedict and my friend had the chicken schnitzel. Our food came out quite quickly & were very sizable portions. I tasted the schnitzel & it was very good, a tad bit salty, but otherwise very well seasoned & delicious. My eggs Benedict came with lots of roasted potatoes & was really good. The honey coated pork belly was truly a treat! I neglected to take photos while dining, but here's my plate of warmed up leftovers to give you an idea, this is less than half of what I was served. Also since we paid cash, any slice of house-made dessert (Bavarian chocolate cake) was complimentary & went home with my friend. From the looks of the dessert case, it's safe to guess it will be delicious! I'd definitely recommend their brunch menu.

Was in Coos Bay for a few days and searched for dog friendly restaurants. Blue Heron came up as a possibility and the German heritage intrigued me. Was so happy to see a public parking lot with a couple RV spots. Very welcome. Was greeted at front rather coolly by service staff that said, "yes, we have an outdoor dog friendly covered patio, but I'm the only one working tonight, so could be a long time for you to get service". I said, that's ok, I drove all the way over here, I'll take my chances. I'm glad I did. The service turned out great and I had a wonderful dinner. Lots of traditional German/Bavarian fare, both food and drink. Helped myself to a legit German Hefeweizen and a glass of German Pinot Blanc. Good start. Paired that with a cup of really good Hungarian goulash, then a surf and turf that included steak, salmon, shrimp and oysters. The goulash came with a piece of bread that melted in my mouth. I asked my server and she told me they baked all their own bread and make their own desserts there. That convinced me to finish my meal with a slice of Bavarian chocolate cake. OMG. It was perfect. The patio where I sat had 4-5 picnic tables and is covered, heated, but no AC. It is dog friendly though which is important to me. I didn't see much else of the inside as I walked through directly to the patio. What I did see was dark wood, booths, very old European, which is appropriate. I really like this spot

One of our favorite places for barbecue here in Coos Bay and we love their German menu as well as the root beer they have on tap. They have lots of other drink options as well as a pretty great happy hour menu. Now we are kicking ourselves for only recently discovering how fantastic their brunch is! It really start off right when our three year-old started fussing a bit and not 30 seconds later the chef/owner Adam came out with a small bowl of fruit for him. I only thought to take a picture of our chicken fried schnitzel, but we also enjoyed a breakfast burrito, and the kids had French toast that was just divine. You can tell they make the brioche like bread freshly. And their biscuits and gravy which was also fantastic. Everything is from scratch and everyone is so friendly.

    Combo of happiness

WOW... I wasn't planning on German food tonight, but this place was incredible. Kassandra was excellent and everything was much better than I expected. The clam chowder was great and the German food was top notch.

Very nice, welcoming mildly touristy bar and restaurant in the beautiful downtown of Coosbay, Oregon where you can have $5 Pilsner and $20 Belgian bottle beers. The Happy Hour starts at 4 pm and goes on and on until 5 pm for one hour at $2 off of any beer listed over $7. The German Gold beer is like the Pale Ale from the best brewery, the Pilsner has refreshing fruit and honey flavors! The Knackwurst has pork and veal and the fried oysters are served freshly. The homemade bread is nicely warmed. I'm impressed.

REAL German food, deliciously made with love. I HIGHLY recommend this place if your looking for a hearty, rich and delicious German meal. Modeled after a true German Bier Garden, this place sports several family sized booths and a huge long table for large parties. The bend is a typical German rundown from Jägerschnitzle to brats... and the even have a lovely BBQ menu, if you're not that into German food. The bear list is full of a variety of light to dark beers and you can even order gluwein (spices, hot mulled wine) They only have red, but in the German Christmas markets you can find d white gluwein too! Swing by, snag some hearty food, and take a lovely slice of homemade dessert as well.

Very good crabbing season this year

The bartender was absolutely phenomenal. Super nice, incredibly friendly, and made me feel so welcome. Her attitude was upbeat and positive the entire time. She was very attentive, and I really appreciated how on-point she was with ID checks--a great sign of a responsible and professional bartender. I ordered the supreme pizza, and the chef nailed it. Crispy crust, generous toppings, and though they called it a single serving, it was easily enough for two or even three people to share. The menu was great, and with a full bar, you can order any cocktail you're in the mood for. Parking was easy and very reasonable. All around, this place was a fantastic find, and I'll definitely be back soon!

The sign is quite faded so we were not sure that this was the NoBe food pod we had read about. It was nearly 2:00 and we were starving. So we pulled in, there are 3 carts SweetHeart's Chicks and Shakes, Amigas and West Coast Bitez. Bitez was shuttered, so we had Sweetheart's and Amigas to choose from. We both went with SweetHearts's. Fabulous choice. I went with the Chicken Poutine my partner went with the Chicken breast and fries. We sat down to wait for our meal. The picnic tables were very nice, clean and sturdy, the area had the outdoor grass laid out. We had maybe a 10 -15min wait. Seems we got the last lunch of the day as Sweethearts had had such a busy lunch rush. When we tucked into our meal we found out why she had won so many awards and sold out by 2:00pm. Portions are grandma generous, chicken though boneless breast meat, is very moist and tender. Chicken crust is thin and perfectly crunchy. My poutine was nicely spicy with a sausage gravy. Which I suspect was pork gravy, did some guilt eating on this. But it was so good. The fries are phenomenal, interesting shell like shape, but perfectly crispy and golden .
