Was driving all over running errands.. 500lbs of laundry handled, 90% of my bills paid. Now I'm hungry. Like a moth to a flame I felt drawn to the stockpot.. I was on the totally opposite end of north bend.. but I had to go and was glad I did. First, I really thank them for being one of the only restaurants in the area that carries Coca-Cola . I heard the whole story about how Pepsi screwed them over and how Coke was more than willing to take their business and has been a great business partner with them.. I ordered the Denver omelette with hashbrowns and a pancake and I gotta say it was a great breakfast at a great price.. service was excellent. They refilled my Coke about five times with a smile each time. I was sitting at the bar and some old guy despite all the seats being empty came up and sat right next to me which I found unusual at first, but then I realize this is his normal spot and I am just a guest here. "The universe was trying to prevent us from coming here", said my husband, as Yelp took us to completely wrong streets and we had given up trying to find this place. On our way to Mom's Kitchen, we saw this restaurant and went in. Should've just gone to Mom's... Bland chicken fried steak & mediocre hash browns. Clam chowder was mostly potatoes. Shrimp melt had no flavor at all. Not sure what all the great reviews are about. Definitely won't go back. What made the meal really unpleasant was the swarm of flies all over the tables, chairs, walls, and on people. All the windows were open with no screens and the restaurant staff didn't even seem to notice or care. I felt so disgusted and couldn't finish my sandwich - was it the flies or lack of flavor...? We were greeted when we walked in and chose where to sit. We were in the corner and it was hard to hear each other when it got busier due to the ambient noise level increasing. The hostess was super energetic and kind. my boyfriend and I shared the Stockpot SpeciSpecial. 3 cakes, 2 eggs, 2 sausage links, 2 bacon and a choice of country potatoes or hashbrowns. The cakes came out with two warm bottles, one with syrup and the other was their homemade Dutch honey syrup. So yummy!! Bacon was cooked to perfection but that sausage? Holy Sheets, that was probably my favorite. I hear they make their own corned benefits hash. We will definitely eat here again when we visit. I REALLY wanted to like this place. It's clear that the Stockpot is a local hangout with a long and loyal following. The kind of following that likely gives two shits about Yelp reviews.... As a non local, it was "fine." I had a breakfast burrito which was made with ham, bacon, cheese and fresh tomatoes (and maybe onions). It was served hot, but was rather bland. The provided salsa and sour cream helped spice it up a bit. Pretty much exactly what I expected. The hashed browns were perfectly fine. When ordering coffee, they bring you your own small thermos, so you can drink to your hearts content without needing to flag down a server. Which brings me to the best part of the place.....the people. ALL of the staff were incredibly friendly and cheery. Absolutely wonderful people experience. The atmosphere is homey but dated. Old tables and chairs likely from the 70's. Some kitschy posters and prints. Nothing repulsive, just bland. Overall, a fine experience. Accidentally went to this restaurant, after having been there about 6 months ago. Flies are noticably better, but IMO still a problem. I didn't remember the name, and only realized I was about to have another doomed breakfast once I showed up there. Interior is very loud. I wish I would have gone outside, but didn't realize it was an option. Service is mediocre & slow. Coffee was extraordinarily bad -- tasted like dish soap had been introduced. I wish there was a way to blacklist locations on Google Maps, so that I would never revisit this place. Overpriced mediocre food. Do not recommend. read more

This is going to be long, but I feel like it is needed. 1st-The wait staff are wonderful, we have been 2 times now (1st time wasnt great, but decided to give it one more chance) and they have been nice and accommodating. Now the rest-- as I said we came a 2nd time (Breakfast) waited to be sat (I noticed some bread on the bar countetop to the right, no biggie...) The place is a dated and old (no biggie) Our table was wiped off in front of us with a filthy towel, how do I know you ask? Food was falling off of it onto the table like an endless CATCH 22 ( I used wet wipes to clean it after, we should have known..) It is ok, we told ourselves, give it another chance.. We ordered our breakfast ---with toast (here is where the bread on the counter comes into play)... We were sat by the front door so the kitchen and counter are easily seen. We watched as a waitress served a family, picked something off the floor, wiped her mouth, scratched her head, WALK over to the bread on the counter, (no hand washing) which come to find out was toast, butter the toast with her knife, slapped it on a plate and served it to another couple. There were FLIES landing on the toast and the same waitress kept waving them off and serving the toast like the flies were just added flavor. At this point in time we were too far in and agreed to not eat the toast. We get our breakfast, the kids got the pancakes, which had canned fruit on them, but instead of draining the fruit, it was just slopped on there so then the ears were soggy and inedible. In fact, the whole pancake just kind of just fell apart..the kids refused to eat them..this is saying alot as I have seen these kids taste sand just to see how it tasted.. They were crying because they didnt want to eat it...people trust your kid's instincts (we had snacks in my bag luckily) We chose not to eat our breakfast's at all...we paid ( even though we didnt eat, we were not asked about the meal or anything) Before we left entirely though, the kids needed to go to the bathroom..PEOPLE...when a bathroom looks/smells and feels like the inside of used a septic tank, learn from our mistakes and leave, just leave, dont use them..just because the kids had to go, make them hold it. The smell of the bathroom, invaded our clothing, so much so we had to go home and throw them into the wash, as well as clean our hands outside of the bathroom with items I carry with me. I am unsure what is going on here, and how people are ok with the quality of food that they get, but a 5 star is delusional. Visiting for the weekend, we stopped here for breakfast on Sunday and were sure glad we did! Fairly busy, but we were able to sit at the counter, which we received an immediate warm welcome and great tentative service from start to finish. Sitting to our right were the owner Lorraine and a regular Pearl, who were an absolute delight to talk to. Lorraine's daughter Debbie is the head chef and the food was amazing! We aren't regulars of diner style food, but this was so well made and not greasy. Fresh chopped potatoes, homemade biscuits and gravy, eggs, bacon, toast-everything we ordered was prepared perfectly and delicious. We enjoyed stories from the staff and owner of their tight knit relationship while we enjoyed breakfast. They had a magical balance of warmly engaging in conversation with us, while continuing to work the whole time, keeping everyone is the restaurant taken care of. read more

There were two elderly waitresses dealing with new customers and calls and pickup orders and I figured there was no way we were going to have a good experience, especially when I saw the tiny kitchen with two guys working. Boy was I wrong! These two ladies knocked it out of the park, as did the two cooks working in a kitchen the size of my closet. Drinks were filled, coffee was good and hot and in a pot left on the table, and the breakfast was maybe the best value I've ever seen. $10.50 for three eggs, five strips of the thickest large bacon you're ever seen, and more hash browns than my hungry gut could finish, and no sales tax! We were traveling from Washington back to So Cal when, our car broke down and needed to get fixed. We found this little diner right by the mechanics shop. So, we decided to check it out. It was very busy inside and small but, considering it was their lunch rush hour and they close at 2pm it was understandable. The food was amazingly delicious and if you sit at the bar (no alcohol served) you can see the cooks make the food. Everyone was nice and sweet and it's family operated which is nice. This is a nice little stop on 101. They have a great breakfast good burgers, very reasonable prices. They have a nice outside seating area so you can sit outside and enjoy your food. It has a nice old school field to it. Used to be one of those drive up diners that deliver to your car. It's also locally owned and operated. I was glad they made it through Covid. read more
