Do not got to this establishment. One server, cook yelling at him to not take orders too fast. Owner comes in and everything stops for him. Set there for an hour no food ever delivered and still had to pay for coffee. For a small town diner worst place I have ever been. read more

Absolutely unacceptable experience on Mother's Day. We arrived as a party of 5 with a baby, and my daughter who's 5 months pregnant... the restaurant was barely busy when we got there. We placed our order, then watched a large group that arrived 15 minutes after us get all of their food first. To make it worse, another couple with a child who arrived 30 minutes after us was also served before us. We sat there for over an hour with a baby waiting for food while table after table that came in later was served ahead of us. Every time we asked, we got the same excuse that our food was "coming next." Clearly the staff either forgot our order or completely failed at managing the kitchen. No urgency, and no accountability. Ruined what was supposed to be a nice Mother's Day meal. We eventually gave up after wasting over an hour of our time. Terrible service and extremely poorly managed. WILL NOT RETURN!! read more

We stopped by for breakfast as a family. The hostess was warm and welcoming, promptly guiding us to our booth. It's a counter-service setup--you place your order at the front, and the food is brought to your table. We went with scrambled eggs, an omelette, and pancakes. The food arrived fairly quickly, and everything tasted good. The standout for me was the seasoned potatoes that came with the egg dishes. One minor hiccup: I received only one scrambled egg on my "2 eggs and potatoes" plate. I brought it up with the server, but rather than acknowledging it as a kitchen miss, she simply asked if I wanted more eggs. That said, they did bring the second egg without much delay. Overall, it was a pleasant breakfast with friendly service and satisfying food. P.S: They were kind enough to give the kids coloring books to keep them engaged. read more

Waited 30 minutes for the food, very poor service compared to Caucasian customers, if you're a white Caucasian customers they're very attentive but if you're not you have to physically call them and ask for service. Booth next to me ( white people ) ordered cocktails and they were saying the drinks were really strong, so I ordered a cocktail too but mine came out with barely any alcohol in it, it was really watered down, I can barely taste any alcohol in my cocktail. Ordered ribeye medium rare and it came out burnt to a crisp well done and it was only a 1/4 inch thick slice. I had to flag the waitress down for service, other tables were constantly being served asking if they wanted anything more but my table wasn't being attended. If you're not a white Caucasian customers please avoid this restaurant as you will be treated differently! Ordered a bowl of chowder and compared to other people's my bowl was only 1/3 full compared to other white Caucasian customers being 2/3 full, so basically I was charged for a bowl of chowder but only received a cup portion. Ate most of the food, it was mediocre at best especially with the lack of service, but noticed after I left that they didn't charge me for the watered down Long Island Iced Tea. I've owned restaurants too and the owner needs to train the staff to treat everyone "EQUALLY"! Although I didn't receive the service I did my part by leaving a $10 tip on a $43 bill. After being told about the many things on the menu that were not available due to "someone needing to go grocery shopping" I ordered the avocado toast, which in the description comes with balsamic reduction. It came out without any and I asked the waitress if she could bring me a small amount on the side so I could put it on myself. She said of course and went back to get it for me. I then heard the cook yelling that was the strangest request he had ever heard with some other rude comments. Another table mentioned politely that they didn't care for the chowder which was also met with yelling and rude comments from the cook. 1st time customer today..... Two months ago we stopped in for biscuits & gravy but were told the café was out of gravy and that 'it was on it's way/being delivered'. We decided to try again another day. Today was the day. There were 9 customers when we arrived, all already eating, so not busy. It took about 15 minutes before the server came to our table. Our coffee took another 15 minutes before being served, which was after our food was served, and we were never offered a refill. The gravy was thin, watery, and bland tasting. The hollandaise sauce on the eggs benedict had an odd flavor, like nacho cheese. Maybe it was an off-day for the café but I don't think we'll be back. *The interior was quaint and appeared clean. read more

The Sunnyside is a great little mom and pop place with a newish vibe and a welcoming feel! Bloody Marie's and beers and mimosas as well as great food! Ah Bandon, i have such fond memories of this place, even though we only stayed for one night on our way down the coast.What a lovely little town, and Sunnyside definitely shone. And not specifically because of the food. It was the host/server. I didn't get her name, but she was a beautiful blonde lady, with a very sunny, bubbly personality who must make an absolute fortune in tips. She was a PURE DELIGHT! So ordering, you go to your table with a menu, choose what you'd like, go back to the counter, order and pay, and sit down. The coffee is plentiful and refilled every few minutes. This lovely blonde lady was at our table every few minutes - mostly to hear my accent, which she loved (I'm English, have a strong regional north-eastern accent) I had biscuits and gravy, home fries, and honestly i can't really remember, it was good, i ate it all, so it can't have been that bad, but not outstanding either. And i think this is probably the 1st time I've ever given a high review based mostly on the service. I was just so charmed by the ambience, and the views, the area itself, and this lovely lady. I'd go back, just to see her. I did go back inside after I left (She'd told me to say bye) so i went back in, and gave her a big hug. I would 100% recommend based on the staff and service, and i would go back again, every day if i lived there. read more

Well, this review is broken down into 2 parts. 1st, service at this restaurant was awesome. The waitress was polite, talkative and very attentive. I have absolutely no complaints about service. 2nd comes the food. We ordered chicken and waffles and there Benedict royal. The food nearly took 45 minutes to get to the table. This wouldn't be a problem if the establishment was packed but there was only 2 tables sat when we arrived. When the food did arrive the Benedict eggs were well over cooked, the chicken batter was very bland and the waffle was so chewy it was almost inedible. I don't want this experience to ruin anyone else's opinion of this place but after being in and around tge Bandon area for over 10 years now im going to have to sat that tgere are better places to enjoy a meal. read more

We'd eaten at Sunnyside last year on our way through town, had good memories of it, so stopped in again this year. The restaurant is clean and seems almost normal compared to the touristy shops in the area with plenty of seating and a good sized selection. Love their breakfasts! This time we ordered the crab Benedict (fabulous) and the fish tacos (fair, not very tender). The service was good, prices reasonable. Will eat there again, but maybe just for breakfasts. . read more

This is a new restaurant at an established location in downtown Bandon. Ordering is at a counter, and it got a little awkward with lots of people milling around and more people coming in through the door. Not a lot of room to stand in line. Fortunately it wasn't too busy. Ordering was easy and service was personable. I got the chicken fried steak with scrambled eggs and potatoes. I sat near the kitchen and the music seemed a bit loud. Maybe I'm just getting to that age, or was sitting right by the speakers, but it was a little distracting. The food came out quickly. The chicken fried steak was cooked well, and perfectly seasoned. The house gravy had an Italian seasoning profile and while a little different, really was tasty and went well with the steak. The eggs were delicious and the potatoes cooked through and had the perfect amount of seasoning. Crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside. That was what really stood out for me here: everything had just the right amount of seasoning to allow the flavors to really come through. I've had a lot of under-seasoned breakfasts, and this was really outstanding in that regard! I would love if they starting table service, but I understand why they might stick to counter ordering. Regardless, the next time I'm in Bandon, I'll be here again! read more

Absolutely horrible food and customer service. They aren't smart enough to know how to use a toaster, they can't even cook an English muffin properly, nor can they properly cook "crispy bacon" when asked. We have eaten here 2xs, the first was pretty good, but the second time wasn't. The owner is nasty and doesn't know how to handle feedback. They should really focus on how to improve that or I foresee them tanking. Save your money and eat somewhere else. read more

We placed our order with a short line, paid upfront, and then waited about 10-15 minutes for our food. Despite the place being packed, the service was impressive; the staff efficiently cleared empty dishes and kept the space tidy. The food was alright for my taste. Nothing too special. Ok, we actually had DINNER there last night, July 3rd, and it was incredible incredibly GOOD!, and, believe it or not, their custom made tater tots were the best ever made (and I'm talkin' I haven't had 'em since I was a kid!). Service was nonexistent, over an hour and a half to get food and the place was only half full. They were apparently out of half the menu because no one bothered to take anything out of the freezer to prepare for the day. The Cubano sandwich which was apparently hot at some point since the cheese was melted was cold when i finally got it. Hostesses solution was that she could warm up the middle for me. Literally threw it away after 3 bites. The sausage that came with my wife's breakfast was burnt to a crisp on one side. I would have been embarrassed to toss it out to a seagull. They were really good a year ago, don't know what happened but we will not be back. Attitude of staff was ridiculous. Don't waste your time or money. read more

Waitress seemed defensive about it, so I assume this is some flex on their part? Very dated ambiance, like from the late 60's early 70's. My husband and I often struggle to find good vegan options when traveling, so Sunnyside was a welcome surprise! The vegan tacos were bright, flavorful, and delicious. The vegan scramble was flavorful and unique--much more exciting than most egg substitutes. And all made from scratch!
