Calamari
Frances L.

What a cute lil establishment shaped like a boat it's hard to miss. The food is on par with a coastal seafood establishment. Fast and efficient plating. Waitstaff was helpful despite a shift change, we got everything on time. My clam chowder was pretty good, the calamari was pre frozen and not my fave, but we would stop in again.

Halibut

We stopped in while driving up 101. The boat is located on the side of the road and has little areas to sit-some inside and some out. We grabbed a table outside and were greeted quickly. Ordered some beverages and they were brought quickly. The actual meal took a bit longer-but we overheard our waitress telling someone they were short staffed. She was friendly and a great server-so no complaints. We ordered the fish and chips-one order of Cod (3 pcs) and one of Halibut (4 pcs). We also had a cup of clam chowder. Everything we delicious.

Ketchup, cocktail sauce and tartar sauce.

My dad had come here previously and has been talking nonstop about how good the fish and chips were. We came in on a whim, midday on Saturday. They were pretty busy but they have lots of seating options and we were able to find a spot right away. As we came in one of the two waitresses said hello, told us to sit wherever and let us know the new menus were at the table under the glass. The menu was clear, straightforward and had options for half orders which I super appreciate! We both got ice teas, my dad ordered the fish and chips (cod) and I did the scallops. I forgot to take photos of the main dishes, we dug right in and then it wasn't pretty when remembered. The only down side to my dish was it was popcorn scallops, small and rubbery, but very common with those when they're deep fried. It all tasted amazing though! Fish and chips was insanely good. I hate tartar sauce I mixed theirs 50/50 with the cocktail sauce and it was so good! The place was clean, decorated on theme, lots of areas to sit, dog friendly out on the patio too! Only downside was trying to get the bill. Service up to that point was fantastic. Just took a bit longer to leave than we wanted but overall no complaints!

Prompt friendly service. I ordered the three piece fish with Cole slaw. Love the slaw, not full of mayonnaise, very fresh tasting. Spouse ordered the shrimp salad, full of shrimp. He said it was very good. He had ordered a shrimp salad at a pricey restaurant not long ago and it was smaller and quite a bit more in price.

Menu

Got here right when they opened. Very friendly waitress. The food is excellent. And very fast service! Definitely recommend the halibut and cod fish and chips! The chowder bowl was also really tasty! Even the cheese burger that my child ate.

Shrimp louie salad . Huge and delicious

This lunch was exactly what I was craving on our road trip hot cup Of chowder and fresh shrimp salad they have good ranch so that made me happy also ;) the halibut sandwich was crispy not greasy and totally fluffy . The service was great the ladies were very nice and on top of making sure we had what we needed (thank you ) the decor so Much fun , I wish we had a place like this in Eugene . We will definitely go back when we are passing through coos bay .

Clam chowder
Jimmy D.

The clam chowder was pretty good but lacked seasoning flavor in it. It was just plain. It was good on a cold day but lacked depth in their recipe. Service was slow even though it wasn't super busy. Eating on the ship was the best part. Super fun atmosphere for sure. I just wish the food was a bit better

Meal Menu

Amazing service, friendly servers, very helpful with their fish varieties and their menu, attending to customers needs properly and providing a good service and a friendly atmosphere. We ordered Pacific Cod with fries and a side of Coleslaw, no beer, just good ol' local tap water. The meal was good, plenty of fish pieces, not greasy and flavorful. I personally felt that the batter used was on the thin side. I prefer my fish with a splash of malted vinegar that literally disintegrated my fish pieces, making them too moist and not as crispy as I would have preferred. Other than that; the flavor was good and the only thing missing from a true "fishn' chips" was the newspaper. Just kidding.... The place is good for a quick relaxing lunch, driving up the Oregon coast.

Our Coastal Restaurant Run -- 4 Days of Food, Friends & Fun!…read more What started as an idea to get a bunch of retired food-loving friends together turned into the BEST little coastal adventure! We hosted our friends at our home on the Oregon Coast for four days and decided to make it all about what we love most -- good food, great restaurants, and even better company! We hit the road along Hwy 101, exploring some of our favorite spots from Coos Bay to Brookings. Our first pick was SHARK BITE and we all had wonderful food and this was our lunch. Every meal was an adventure, and we had so much fun comparing dishes, discovering new favorites, laughing until our sides hurt, and enjoying that beautiful coastal scenery along the way. We even made our own little Coastal Restaurant Run theme, complete with painted rocks and a restaurant passport. Each stop became part of the memories. The best part? It wasn't really about finding the best restaurant. It was about slowing down, eating way too much, sharing stories, and enjoying four days together. Good friends. Good food. Good times. Great memories. If you love food, beautiful coastal drives, and discovering those special local restaurants along Hwy 101, we highly recommend making SHARK BITE on your list to stop and eat. We'd do it all over again in a heartbeat!

I got 2 fish tacos, an order of 9pc shrimp cocktail, and a clam chowder bowl. 9pc shrimp cocktail…read morewas actually battered and fried shrimp.. not a shrimp cocktail. I ordered everything for pick up and when I got to my moms home which.. port Orford is 2 whole miles wide, so I took me about 3 whole minutes, I realized they did not poke any holes in the box the shrimp was in and all of the battered shrimp was soggy and disgusting. The fish tacos, same, soggy mushy falling apart and disgusting. The fish itself was soggy and not crispy. The tortilla was all the way disintegrating at this point and upon picking the taco up the entirety of it fell out the hitting when the tortilla completely fell apart. $60+ of food. What the fuck. You'd think when you pride yourself as a seafood place and offer food to go, you'd understand how to properly package the food so it withholds a 3 minute drive home. It makes me realize it would've been NO different had I eaten there. Do not waste your money on this hole in the wall "seafood" place that claims shrimp cocktail is battered fried shrimp with fries. FYI; shrimp cocktail is steamed or boiled, not battered and fried, and served with cocktail sauce and a wedge of lemon. Also they claim to have salads.. but when trying to order a salad, sorry.. no salads. Lmfao. Also, anyone that claims this is the best fish and chips spot on the coast, or in California, or in Oregon. You live in the butt fuck of nowhere in port Orford with 3 restaurants, respectfully, you don't know what the best fish and chips are. E

On a positive note we loved the setting, great vibe and wonderful service. We also had great cocktails, the Veneto was amazing. However, when the appetizers came out we were so very disappointed. We had the meatballs and fried burrata. It at first looked like the meatballs had this odd coating on it. But it was just that they were so overcooked and burnt. You literally needed a knife to cut them open and once open they were so dry I couldn't eat anymore. So I was hopeful that the fried burrata would be better. However, it was also over cooked on the outside. But once past the coating the burrata and bread was very good. Our main course came next. We both had the lasagna which came with a small salad that was very light and tasty. The pasta sauce was excellent and full of meat and the portions were very large. Lastly we had dessert and it was the star of the meal. We had a lemon pastry/cake that was delightful. Overall, we were disappointed with the appetizers. But the entrees were very good and dessert was just delightful. We will return to give it another go and hope that our first experience with the appetizers was just a one-off.
