To preface this review- the servers here were very nice!! That said, the service was poor. We had to get up from the table 4-5x, for every need: napkins, extra sauce, drinks, and the bill. Check ins from the waiter never happened, despite the restaurant not even being super busy. Regarding the food, the food was very bland, and tasted like it was cooked in used/old oil. The fried cod was extremely chewy, but the main problem is simply that it lacks any taste whatsoever, as well as the halibut, popcorn shrimp, calamari, oysters. I don't feel like previous reviews regarding flavor are accurate. Not to nitpick, but we also realized that the water tasted odd as well? The food was good and staff friendly. They could use some special cleaning on their lamps. It's always a little disturbing when you look up and see the lamp above you is caked in dust. Knowing one swift breeze could send a chunk down to your food or drink. Overall though its a fun atmosphere and good food. They have beer on tap and thats always a plus in my book. read more

Way, way, way, OVER priced. 3 very small crab cakes loaded with salt $26.20. Cup of clam chowder $9.25. Fish and Chips were good but really $22.35! My suggestion go somewhere else. Young worker was condescending. Older worker was great. read more

We were looking for a dog friendly place and oh boy they are dog friendly! I like to try all the clam chowder every time. I'm on a coastal town and shark bites did not disappoint. Super friendly family business so kids definitely welcome. My sister got the fish tacos. I gotta say that the fried fish inside the tacos was probably the best , I took a little bite of it. Great space, attached to a surfer shop. So you could enter from one side of the street that housed the surf shop, or the other side, being the restaurant. One person dealing with a steady flow of people, but he was cool, calm, collected, and coped effortlessly well with the flow of customers. Obviously being attached to a surf shop, it has that surf vibe. I ordered Popcorn shrimp, fries, and coleslaw, and it was delicious. The coleslaw was yummy. The popcorn shrimp were fresh, juicy and succulent. I could just eat that again, right now. The service was excellent, and i had a great view of a giant blue jellyfish from the window (made from trashed water bottles apparently) I would 100% revisit this place if i was in the area again. Best clam chowder i have ever had. Not too thick or thin. Lots of clams cut in small chunks just perfect for a little clam and potato in every spoonful. Halibut delicious, cooked crispy and cut in medium size pieces. Cole slaw has a little ginger taste. Margaritas nice for folk's who like it not too sweet. We like our margaritas sweet so added sugar. Very nice service. Highly recommend. Prices a little high but quality of food makes it worth every penny. French fries cooked perfect too. No old oil smells with fried food! read more

I was debating with a three or four rating. My spouse reminded me that this was the place where we had the fresh cut french fries. I moved it to a four based on the french fries. My fish and chips were OK. My wife enjoyed the shrimp tacos. Very basic place and I will stress very. Not a lot of great restaurant choices along the Oregon coast, but this was what we needed. Disclaimer: we are tourists and we did not order what most people seem to enjoy - the fish and chips. First, when we entered , there were two preschoolers (or so in age) that I suspect were the owners kids ? Idk. They were running around the restaurant. Not disruptive just normal kids. At one point tho one of them sat on top of the bar while the (owner?) was making drinks, stuck his finger in something on the bar and licked his finger. It was kind of unnerving. We were interested in local fish so ordered the fried oysters. Also crab cakes and a cup of chowder. Disclaimer 2: we never had fried oysters maybe they are always like this. They were big and greasy and when we cut them open it seemed as though their digestive track was full of yutz. We could not eat them. We eat raw oysters and they are probably full of yutz also (?) idk. But they were quite gross. Chowder was meh. Crab cakes also greasy. I think they knew the food was not great because we declined when they asked us for a box and no one asked how the food was. In fact the man didn't even make eye contact when he cleared our dishes. If I lived here I would try again and order fish and chips or the tacos. read more

The nice thing about this restaurant was that the creamy clam chowder was gluten free. It was very good, and still had a thickness to it. For our main food we ordered tacos and fish and chips. First time here & was slightly surprised that after you walk through a small souvenir section, you place your order at the counter & then walk to a table. Kinda like a fast food restaurant. It was a bit busy & we had to wait a few minutes to place our orders. We sat at a window booth overlooking Broadway & watched the traffic as we waited. We had both ordered the crab cake burger, a Dungeness crab cake with fresh dill, sautéed onions, avocado, tomato & lettuce. It comes out on a soft Kaiser roll with tartar sauce. However, ours was pretty dry. If it had tartar sauce, it could've used more. Still, it was tasty. The fries had a crispy texture with a fluffy inside & just enough salt to be flavorful but not overwhelming. A small side of Cole slaw came with the meals: I'm not a fan. It was just meh at best. I thought it was dry & bland. The Mrs got a Bloody Mary that she said was good but not what the menu said it would be. The menu calls for blue cheese stuffed olives & hers had the pimento olives. The Seafood Platter here included fish, shrimp, scallops, oysters, (calamari?), but was hard to distinguish one from another by appearance or flavor, since all were covered in thick doughy coating and deep fried. When we sat after ordering & paying, our suspicions rose as to their seafood bonafides when a table of (8-9?) young women (team?) and an older man (coach?) that preceded us were all served cheeseburgers of various stripes. I came here to get either the calamari or crab cakes. I got the calamari thinking it was gonna be like the baby calamari's I'm used to.
