First tried this with a vegetarian family member. We skipped the buffet and ordered off the menu, deferring to my friends familiarity with Indian fare. So far thi s is my Favorite Indian Restaurant. The Staff here make a pretty big deal about everybody being happy. " No Angry, just happy! It's a Party Yeah? Wow!! I do not usually care for Indian food but this restaurant changed my mind! I ordered Dal Makhni, a vegetarian dish with black lentils and garlic, garlic naan and a bowl of Raita. Before I could actually order, a dish of mango chutney with what may have been Papadam was brought to the table along with what might have been two Alu Tikki. The chutney was delightful and I could have been very happy with just that for the rest of the evening. When our food arrived, I discovered how good the Dal was. I ate it with the Basmati rice that came with it. While eating, the waiter brought out a complimentary dish that I didn't get the name of, unfortunately. When we were done eating, we really weren't done eating. Complimentary bowls of Badam Kheer were served, followed by samples of Chai tea. This was followed by a bite-sized taste of Mango Kulfi. I was ready to roll on out of there because I felt filled-to-the-brim. I was not permitted to leave before being given a to-go cup of Mango Lassi, a drink made from yogurt. The service was wonderful. I felt like I was visiting a friend's family for dinner. Everyone was so nice. I'm not a fan of buffets and this one is no different. Still, it allowed me to sample a variety of dishes during my first visit. Most of the chicken dishes don't work because the chicken isn't well prepared. Overcooked. Perhaps the type of chicken isn't right. Yet, take the butter chicken sauce and put it on paneer...instant mouth party. The biriyani doesn't resemble the wonderful and storied dishes of my youth. Nope. No raisins, no almonds, no onions, no fired egg... just saffron rice and chicken chunks. Pass. Yet the bottomless cups of mango lassi are delicious. And the folks are really nice. Always willing to make it "your way" which for me is extra Spicy. Staff is friendly. Be prepared to wait a little bit for food orders (hence made to order). This is the best restaurant I've ever been to. There are many complimentary additions at the end of the meal and literally everything my party of 4 tried resulted in wide eyes and delight. Even my skeptical friend was raving at the end. The service is some of the best I've ever had in my life and we were surprised that it wasn't more expensive at the end. We have eaten here many times and thought it was the best Indian food in the Kansas City area. That was until we had lunch there today. The food was over salted and not very tasty. This is the best Indian Place in the metro area. Not only is their food delicious, the staff and what I can only assume are the owners, are incredibly welcoming and treat us like royalty every time we come in. I love all the little extras, including appetizer and dessert samples they have kindly given is to try without our asking. And if you stay, you even get a traditional hand cleaning at the end of the meal. They have always been generous and kind. I refuse to eat at any other Indian restaurant. Also, plenty of vegetarian options for my friends. It's a place we can all find something we love on the menu. I've never had any food I didn't love from Korma Sutra and their chai is the best!! I went to this restaurant the other day for a pick up order. Waited 5 mins while the lady looked at me and still kept on cleaning tables while only one table was seated. Best experience on Christmas eve with family during a vacation in Kansas City while it was pouring like cat and dog. It was long waiting and raining outside. The owner kept serving the free hot appetizer to everyone waiting and had everyone inside the restaurant, to not let guest get wet. We ordered assortment of veg and chicken eateries. All tested delicious and flavor was true to curry it should be per my palate. Malai kofta and chicken makhani tested great, creamy and nutty. The naan were served fresh, crisp and buttery. The owner served free lassi and dessert. It was late night on Christmas Eve, so we were worried about milk for our kids as they drink it before sleeping. The owner not only provide bottle full of milk but also warmed it! Fantabulous experience! Note- I referred it to a friend who went to Kansas City for a vacation. He testified to my reviews. My family was going out to lunch together, and my father's friend recommend this place to us. We have a few usual restaurants we like to go to as we are an Indian family ourselves, but we were in the area after some shoppin, so we decided to try it. I don't know what he experienced, but we are never taking a restaurant recommendation from him again. At first it was fine; I had never seen someone put ice in a mango lassi before, but it wasn't that big of a deal. However, we had to wait a while for someone to take our order.The person who served us was extremely quirky, but we had a good laugh and a fun time. Later on, we had to wait forty minutes for our food to come out, even though it definitely was not made fresh (our samosas were frozen in the middle). The food was not good, and I felt sick immediately after eating. We had lots of food leftover, but we didn't want to take any of it home after it had made me and my sister unwell. One of the ladies kept coming by and asking "To take to go?" and when we said no, she would come over and ask again later on. Eventually we just put some in a box and threw it away when we left. As we were leaving they kept bringing out complimentary deserts and mango lassis, but we just wanted to leave.
