Interesting selection of pickles. Some are pretty good. Helps open up the appetite Unfortunately the other things are kinda disappointing. Curry pork katsu has very mild flavor. Need some salt. And too much flour, not enough meat in the middle. Beef stew on cast iron is very large portion. Pretty tender and serves hot. Just wish the seasoning is more strong. Very nice staff and service

A friend recommended this place while we were in town visiting OSU. This place is located in downtown Corvallis among lots of cute shops and eateries. The service was fast and friendly. We ordered the chicken katsu and teriyaki salmon. Banchan was served while we were waiting for our order. Everything was so good! The katsu was made with chicken breast and was fried perfectly. It was served with sushi rice, glass noodles, and cole slaw. The teriyaki salmon came sizzling on a hot plate and was served with rice. It was perfectly seasoned and yummy! The portions are big and the prices are reasonable. They also serve gelato for dessert.

Spicy pork udon, Stunning presentation and generous portion.

My YELP hunting always pays off yet this find was another level of excellence! The name alone is super creative but the menu is perfection. I had tremendous difficulty making a choice because I wanted to try everything. I'll admit I skipped the seafood pancake appetizer because it was $21 bucks and my guess is it was too much food for an appetizer. I wanted to try more than one thing. There's no hostess station so when I walked in and saw a counter I was a bit confused until another customer waiting to for take out hinted for me to wait by the door to be seated. The young waiter showed me to a table and was very professional. There was a waitress as well and they handled the busy front house efficiently. The decore is open, bright, and simple. It's not elegant but it can have an upscale feel. The wings appetizer was unbelievable! Crispy huge wings that are obviously brined. They are meaty moist and huge and the most crispy wings you could imagine. Doused in this certainly house made sauce yet the crispiness preservereste. The Spicy Pork Udon is remarkable. The sizzling dish is stunning when it comes to the table. The mix and abundance of vegetables in those dishes is impressive. I guess by now reading this you get that I was blown away by Koriander. Don't think twice just get there and see for yourself. This place is a MEGA GEM!!! A must visit restaurant in Corvallis. BRAVO!!!!!

Awesome little Korean fusion place I found while visiting family. Quaint dining area can accommodate large or small groups. The menu has a great selection of Asian fusion, so you'll more than likely be able to find something you like to eat. I ordered Gimbap, seafood pancake, and japche And my aunt ordered soup. The food came out fast, it was hot and fairly delicious. I would have liked to have gotten a little more seasoning on the seafood pancake, but other than that, this place was a good lunch choice. I truly enjoyed the japche and the gimbap, two things I used to get all the time in South Korea. If you're looking for a decent Asian fusion place, swing by and give it a try.

Love this place! We always make it a point to eat here when in Corvallis. Plenty of seating, staff is nice and friendly, good food too.

Good downtown lunch spot (they have adult beverages so maybe dinner as well). - Billed as fusion cuisine and I suppose they offer that but I am more interested in straight-up Korean food. That's on the menu too. - Spicy beef soup (yukgaejang) is very good, although not terribly spicy (I believe you can order that if you wish). You get a large bowl, as is typical, with four banchan (also good) and some rice. - Service is efficient but wooden. Not many friendly greetings or smiles to be had here but you'll get your food in a reasonable time. And the check too. - Ambiance and seating are neutral, comfortable. All low-top tables and banquets so the mobility-challenged will be fine here. - It's quiet. You're not assaulted by dreadful music. - Very convenient to all the downtown shops and doings.

A dreamy photo that takes the mind to a better location.

**This account only reviews restrooms** While visiting Koriander, a nice little spot in Corvallis, you may feel the call to excuse yourself from the table. There are two restrooms, both single occupancy, one male, one female. Immediately upon entry you are greeted by the throne itself. No frills, straight to business. The decor is interesting. While sitting upon the porcelain delight you can look to your right and dream of the ocean. But... if you need some inspiration on what to do while in the restroom, take a gander of the photo left of the door and you'll see a nice photo of some chocolate gelato. A great reminder of the business you find yourself engaged in. The sink is a little dirty and the door looks like is was gripped by a mechanic that didn't wash his hands over a full day's work, but the restroom has all the tools you need to pull off the job you came there for.

Okay this is awesome!!! You can have some asian fusion and gelato at the same time!! Or you can just come in for a GELATOOO. Totally recommend this place! The waiter and waitress are also super great and funny!! Yummy food too!!

    Dolsot bibimbap

Came here for a mother daughter lunch date yesterday. Keeping my review consistent 4 star since I last reviewed 5 years ago? Was going to give 3 because quality of food did go down a bit and price did go up a bit however to support local business through pandemic I changed mind. After all the Korean food they served were still able to bring joy and to the table and tasted good, so that was enough to earn the star back. They still maintained serving delicious banchan (side dishes) and giving more to you with a heartwarming smile made up for it. Portion size wise we ordered dolsot bibimbap ($15) which is stone pot mixed vegetables with rice cooked topped with a fried egg and some bulgogi. You break the egg up and mix all the veggies in and the side of bibimbap sauce. The hot stone pot kind of serves it purpose of charring or "cooking" the rice a bit more while it's being mixed. It was delicious and side dishes went well with the entree and rice will always fill up hungry stomachs. I did wish there were more veggies and meat. It was a good mother daughter lunch date.

    Pork curry katsu

I had the pork curry katsu and bul-duk beagee. The food was amazing! It was ready on time and the portions were nice for the price. Both dishes came with rice and sides. I did find a hair cooked into my katsu which is why I am only giving 3/5.

About a month after our initial in-person visit, we were excited to find Young's Country Kitchen on Doordash. We ordered the tteokbokki bowl and the teriyaki tofu bowl and both were good! My only issue is that the teriyaki tofu bowl was a little bland and dry, so I had to add some teriyaki sauce I had at home. After adding the sauce it was enjoyable, but had I not been at home I wouldn't have been able to do that. I'll definitely be back, since there's a vast menu I have yet to explore. All things considered, the food here is tasty and absolutely worth a try!

We try to find local restaurants to support local business, we've generally been happy with what we've found. Young's Country Kitchen is no exception, we really enjoyed our meal! The cuisine is quite good and authentic. The bibimbap had a good balance of beef and veggies, the chap chae also nicely done. My son enjoyed his bulgogi, good flavor and tender beef. We were a bit curious as to why our son ordered the sweet-and-sour chicken, but as always he knew what he was doing (at least with food). The chicken has the right amount of batter, there was still nice chunks of meat, plus the dish wasn't drowned in sauce. What really impressed me are the "minor" features that add up. The chili sauce with the bibimbap was tasty with a mild, not overwhelming kick (it may not be homemade, but it complimented the dish properly). The rice is very good, with generous portions. I wish I'd have purchased some kim chee to go with it. The miso soup is good, white miso, very appreciated on a cold day. Our family has been there before, and we plan on returning. My next try will be the Kim chee fried rice.

Turns out we could NOT grill them, but this was not explained to us when we ordered, and then had an extremely weird & uncomfortable meal. A man working at the restaurant came over with the raw meats, stood there the whole time, grilled it, wouldn't let us do it ourselves, which was weird enough, but then proceeded to tell us what to dip things in, how much salad to serve ourselves, what to eat the meats with, what not to eat meats with, and was generally bossy. Supposedly this is due to customers coming in not having done Korean BBQ before and not knowing how long to grill meats, however we had all been to Korean BBQ joints before, and knew how it worked, but were not asked. We just awkwardly sat there in silence as none of us felt like continuing our conversation until the guy was done and left us alone. (3 different meats we ordered, one cooked after another, no say from us on how or when) Staff were friendly enough and food was good but this was weird and I won't be back.

Decided to get a chicken grill plate, pork belly grill plate, soup for the teenager and an appetizer. One of our friends wanted all you can eat, but was told they couldn't order that unless everyone did. So they ordered some kind of egg souffle, extra rice and we shared. They brought the meat and five of the tiniest servings of sides. About 10 pieces of sliced radish, à few bean sprouts, 6 to eight small pieces of potato.... And left us totally alone. I had to get up from the table to go ask for a fork. (They didn't give us eating utensils other than before the food came they asked us chop sticks or spoon or fork. Since we had not had the food before, we guessed.) The teenager, who lives on Ramen noodles, did not like the soup. The corn and cheese appetizer was tasty. The meats were ok. But we had these tiny, maybe 5 inch plates, where there was not even room to make a lettuce wrap. And the servers walked by time and again without ever asking how we were doing. They came and turned off the fire before we were done cooking the meat. We finally got someone's attention and got it turned back on and did ask for another serving of sides. With the 18% gratuity that was noted on every page of the menu, the bill was over $100. I was shocked! At the prices in general, the lack of service and explanation, the meager amount of food and the total price. Do not waste your time. You would be better off going to a Mongolian Grill.

I stopped in for a drink while my to go order was being made and had a Tiger Bomb, a beer with a shot of soju mixed in. The drink was great, and the service was incredibly hospitable. Even though I was just waiting on a to go order, they offered me complimentary banchan, little bites of cabbage, carrots, and cucumber, to snack on while I drank and waited. That was much more hospitality than I expected from simply picking up food. The prices are very reasonable for what you get. The portions are generous, everything tasted fresh, and the food felt genuinely high quality. The Korean fried chicken is really, really good. I got the Volcano sauce, and it is legitimately hot. Not restaurant spicy. Actually spicy. I eat the spiciest of the spicy food, and this was a good 8 out of 10 for me, which is probably a 15 out of 10 for most people. It has serious heat, but plenty of flavor underneath it. The dry rub chicken balanced it perfectly, with a tangy, acidic, savory flavor that cut through the richness and paired really well with the Volcano sauce. Crispy chicken, acid, spice, and a cold beer is a pretty hard combination to beat. I also got the kimbap with spicy pork, and that was amazing too. The rice and fillings tasted really fresh, the pork had a great savory sweetness and heat, and the vegetables added freshness and texture. Every bite had a little bit of everything. Between the food, Tiger Bomb, complimentary banchan, and service, I was already thinking I had found a new place I really liked. Then I got home. The only real downside was unfortunately the tteokbokki, which is ironic because that was the entire reason I found Tiger Mama. It was literally the term I typed into Yelp that led me there. And this is where the review gets complicated. Flavor wise, it was amazing. The sauce was sweet, tangy, savory, and a little spicy, with that deep gochujang flavor you want from tteokbokki. The fish cakes were tender, plentiful, and full of flavor. There were glass noodles, mandu, and half a hard boiled egg, giving it a lot of different textures. It felt like a more elaborate, modern take on the classic Korean dish. The rice cakes themselves were fantastic. Great size, wonderfully tender and chewy, and soaked in that delicious sauce. Honestly, the tteok I did receive might be the best I have had while dining out. My problem was that I received three of them. Three individual rice cakes. In an $18 order of tteokbokki. That was genuinely disappointing. Tteokbokki was why I came here. It was what I searched for and what drew me in. The menu picture showed plentiful, delicious little rice pillows sitting in sauce, which was exactly what I had been craving. Instead, I got a large serving of glass noodles, fish cakes, mandu, sauce, egg, and three rice cakes in a dish named after the rice cakes. If this had been the only thing I ordered, I could easily see myself leaving a sour one star review and never going back. But that would not represent the experience I had. Everything else was too good. As someone who loves Korean cuisine, both cooking it at home and eating it out, I can tell there is a lot of care put into this food. Even the tteokbokki was excellent in every respect except the rice cake quantity. The sauce was perfect, the fish cakes were great, the mandu was a nice surprise, and the sweet, spicy, tangy, savory flavors worked ridiculously well together. It also pairs really well with a beer. Or six. Unfortunately, I live too far away to have noticed until I got home, and they were already closed. I'll call tomorrow, and based on the service I received, I'm confident they'll make it right. Three rice cakes for $18 was genuinely disappointing, but I'm not going to let what seems like one portioning mistake outweigh an otherwise excellent experience. The food, atmosphere, hospitality, and care put into everything were too good. Tiger Mama is a great addition to the Whit, and I'll absolutely be back. Especially for more tteokbokki. Hopefully next time, more than three.
