Spicy Korean fried chicken with honey butter fries and drink.
    Kevin P.

Finally had the chance to try Kore chicken. Has spicy Korean chicken with honey butter fries and soft drink lunch special. Good value. Lots of sauce. Sauce could be thicker to stay on the chicken. Chicken is air fried not deep fried which is nice. However it does lead to less crisp I recommend

So this review will be interesting. Let's start off w/ location. You literally have to enter the store from the parking garage! My gf and I walked around the outside of Langham Square only to be redirected around the corner to their "indoor" entrance. The store itself is literally a small unit but the interior has marble tiles and a tv screen playing kpop. There's an L shaped table for anyone who wants to dine-in. That's it. The owner (I think?) was the one who took our order. He was super friendly and really busy with takeout orders (constantly on the phone haha). We ordered half and half chicken with an order of dumplings on the side. For the chicken we got honey garlic and mild korean seasoning (basically yangnyeom sauce). For the dumplings we got honey butter which was a flavour powder the dumplings were coated in. We waited around 20 min for our food after ordering? So we knew the food would be fresh. I've air fried chicken at home before and while the skin is crispy if you don't sauce it, I thought this chicken would have soggy skin after being sauced. I was dead wrong about that. The skin was still pretty damn crispy even after being sauced. The dumplings were really tasty (I've always been more of a pork dumpling guy rather than a chicken dumpling guy but these were nice). I do think the edges of the wrapper were slightly over fried (they were brittle lol). Now, does air-fried chicken beat regular korean deep-fried chicken? Nope. So while the taste is more of a 4 star rather than a 5 star, the place gets an overall 5 star because the price is A LOT cheaper than the other KFC joints I frequent (Home of Hot Taste, Mr. Chimaek, The Fry, BB.q Chicken are all more expensive). Bonus: Since the chicken is air-fried you're consuming significantly less calories which was the whole point I guess? Would definitely be open to returning in the future!

A nice causal place to get some Korean fried chicken. They air fry their chicken so it is a little healthier and I definitely feel less guilty eating the whole plate by myself. Though, personally if I'm going out to eat fried chicken I would prefer deep fried as it's crisper and juicier. I also think the chicken sizes could be bigger as there were two drumsticks, some small end pieces that felt like they were halved. I did however really liked their selection of sauces. We ordered the honey butter and Korean seasoning. Both sauces were very flavorful and covered the chicken nicely without being too much. However, the honey butter got a little heavy after a while so I probably would only recommend this flavour if you're sharing. It also came with some pickled radish as a side dish, which was so refreshing after all that chicken! Overall, a decent place to grab a quick "healthier" meal and/or takeout especially during their lunch promos!

Great chicken and reasonably priced. Two orders of wings took about 15 minutes. Sole staff member there was friendly and efficient. There are a few tables and seats there. The space was clean and neat-appearing. They do offer lunch specials, so that may be more cost effective. Street parking in nearby area.

I can't remember what two flavors we ordered since it's been some time but both were tasty and the chicken so tender and juicy! The gentleman working in there was kind and efficient. They make their (Korean Fried) chicken in a Cuisinart Air Fryer toaster oven (the same kind we have it home) so it's pretty funny but amazing that they can make it taste and cook so well in a home appliance. Each order of chicken comes with a small side of pickled radish. The location is small and does have one or two tables inside so you can dine in if a table is available but this is a place where most come for take-out. It is located at Langham Square right on South Unionville Avenue. You can park right outside on the street if available or you can park in the covered parking lot. I would highly recommend this place!!!

We were craving fried chicken and happened upon this wonderful neighbourhood place. I didn't get the pleasure of meeting the owner lady but I did meet a wonderful gentleman. We had called ahead of time and placed our order for the half and half. We got the original and the Korean seasoned (spicy). The shop was a little hard to find in the enclosed parking structure but so long as you're heading towards south unionville you would find it no problem. They had cleared all the tables due to the current restrictions and made for a spacious welcoming area. The sign for 10% off for paying cash is still very much there! He was very prompt with providing us the order, freshly taking it out of the oven. We were in and out in very quickly. The smell of the chicken was amazing. Just as everyone else had said there's less breading on these which made them even more amazing. The airfry makes it less fat too! It had a beautiful crunch on both recipes. The korean seasoned spicy was just chefs kiss. The balance of sweet and spicy with just the right amount of sauce! The original came with a bbq sauce and was delectable in its own rite. Highly recommend! We will definitely be back!

Small shop with one entrance facing the street and the other through the parking lot. There's a few chairs and tables for dine-in. On the side, there's napkins and disposable gloves provided. Pay cash to receive a 10% discount. High reviews have created a certain level of expectation for this place before first official visit. This place used to be on the top of the list for a coworker who really likes Korean fried chicken but has since fallen from grace. Now onto the food, price to portion size was good but it was not as crispy or as flavourful as it looks. It was a bit disappointing to be honest. The honey butter flavour was on the bland side. It was pretty mediocre Korean fried chicken. Overall, will not be back for the Korean fried chicken. There are other places that does it better.

First time trying this place after many good reviews. It didn't disappoint me, we order regular, cheese, Korean style and soy combo. Combo comes with rice, miso soup and pickled turnip in generous portion. We like cheese the best. Will definitely come back. Note: we are some chicken pcs before taking pictures, too yummy.

Cheesy chicken (sorry we started to eat already)

Been here a few times for take out and I love that they cut a hole in each box so it let's all the steam out. The chicken is air fried, which makes it a great choice if you're looking for fried chicken, but don't like an intense amount of oil. The chicken is consistently moist. We've tried a few flavors including the honey garlic, soy sauce, Korean and cheesy. I think honey garlic is our winner, but it does get very sweet so be prepared to share! Personally, I don't like how thick the batter is. It's just too much on there. And it's incredibly heavy food, despite not being deep fried in oil. I appreciate the pickled radish side, but I think having more greens on the menu might be better. Service here has always been great. Really friendly owners! They also give you gloves for take out so you can avoid a big mess on your hands. I think maybe it's more environmentally friendly to ask if people need it or offer non-plastic utensils... Just something to cut down on the plastic. Overall a great place to go if you're craving Korean fried chicken and decent pricing.

I was introduced to this after I mentioned to my cousin that I was craving fried chicken. He told me this was place was using air fryer to make their chicken but it's super crispy and really good. After all that, I had high expectations for this place. as I entered the store and realized they had half and half, I ordered that one right away as I wanted to try more than one flavour. I ended up ordering the half Korean seasoned and half honey butter. The Koran seasoned was spicy and had a really nice taste, it was also super crispy despite being layered with sauce on top. The honey butter was also really good! For the price of $28 , as they are doing a promo of 10% off with cash. I think it's quite worth i as their chicken is not small pieces , they are legitimately a decent size unlike other places. The owners are super friendly and nice and kept apologizing that it's going to be 10-15 min wait, even though, they already mentioned this when I ordered! P.S I went a second time and the experience and food was just as good as the first time. This time I had my boyfriend try it and even he thinks it's good and he's not a foodie at all!

Soy garlic chicken and dumplings. Fave!
    Annie C.

I rarely give 5 stars but this is a definite fave! Can't believe I haven't already written a review for them. Discovered them a couple of years ago at the beginning of the pandemic and honestly, one of my fave and go to meals. Air fried Korean style fried chicken - so delicious! Love that the chicken has a nice crunch still and the meat is still tender and not dry. My fave and go to flavor is the soy garlic. It is so flavorful with such a nice kick. Love how you can eat a few pieces without feeling super full and heavy like regular fried chicken. Doesn't have that greasy feeling since it's air fried. I'd pick this over Popeyes any day (I can eat more with less guilt!) Also enjoy ordering their air fried dumplings as a side. Some may find them a tad on the dry side but I order them every time. They also always give you an extra piece or two of chicken which is always nice. 100% support this small business! Food is delicious and they're so friendly.

This is a great local gem that you have to visit if you're looking for Korean fried chicken, and don't want to feel too guilty eating it Located in Langham Square, you can access the restaurant from the garage or the entrance near South Unionville Ave. Their menu offers a selection of different flavoured KFC, however there is no bone out option. This isn't an issue because the bone is fairly small, and each piece of chicken is big. What makes Kore special is that each order of chicken is air fried, and not deep fried like other places. The chicken is still very crispy on the outside, and yet juicy inside- it's a perfect harmony. I highly recommend coming to Kore Chicken if you're looking to support local, and for delicious KFC

Location/Service This place (in my opinion) is a hidden corner gem! It's a small dine-in/take-out on the lower level of Langham Place. The entrance faces outside near the street roundabout. Plenty of parking available, including underground. The restaurant is pretty small, offering about 10-15 people seating. I saw most customers ordered takeout, so flexible option to choose. Interior inside is pretty basic, but I like the use of lights and mirror to make it bright and welcoming. Staff were nice. Seems like it's a family run place. The lady who helped us was very friendly, and orders were done pretty quick. Food Specialty in Korean Fried Chicken. Order a half and half combo to share between a party of 8. Basically, we tried all of the flavours available - recommend the honey garlic, cheese and original as they have strong flavouring that doesn't leave the meat dry. What's different about this place is that they use an air fryer to make the chicken! Everything was less oily while the meat remain soft and tender. Also tried the fried dumplings, they were alright. A nice side to the chicken. The marinated sour turnips complimented well. And I liked how they offer plastic gloves to get dirty. Definitely worth coming back whenever I have Korean Chicken cravings!

The menu was pretty extensive, covering the most typical Korean dishes from the stews and grilled items, to a few Korean-Chinese dishes (such as Jajangmyeon) and everything in between. Steamed Vegetables Dumplings were quite small individually, but came in a sizeable portion. I liked the green onion garnish. Taste-wise, they were alright. Vegetables Bibimbap was excellent - good amount of mixed vegetables (spinach, zucchini, mushrooms, carrot strips, lettuce, bean sprouts) and the fried egg was perfectly crispy on the outer edges, with a still gooey and runny yolk. Grilled Croaker was also decent. It had a lot of small bones as it was a whole fish. It came served with purple rice, and we chose to add on extra lettuce. Seafood Knife Cut Noodles came in a big portion - with lots of slippery, thick udon noodles, pieces of seafood (mussels, clams, squid, shrimps, octopus), and a little big of vegetables (zucchini, carrot, onion). They came in a nice seafood-infused broth - perfect for a cold winter day. I'd come again for the variety of menu items they offer (especially the wide selection of vegetarian options), satisfying tastes, and great & efficient service.

We ordered the bossam, seafood pancake, and budae jeongol and the bill came to ~$100. The bossam was quite a large portion and the flavour was quite delicious. Our favourite item was the seafood pancake. We devoured that and if given a choice to only order one dish, I would definitely recommend the seafood pancake. The budae jeongol (as a solo dish) could easily feed two people. They pack the soup in two large circular soup-like takeout containers and the ingredients in a square container - same as the ones that the bossam and seafood pancake came in. There were plenty of tteokbokki, sausages, cabbage, and ramen noodles. We put the dish together in a wok and kept it heated on a portable induction cooktop. I often times also buy just their kimchi to take home as it's very garlicky, fresh and delicious. Spicy pork rice 3.5/5 - A good rice option, but I still prefer their soup better. Jajangmein 3.5/5 - Another one of those dishes that I can skip. Only get it so that we can have a variety saucey noodle dish. I can't recommend this spot enough. Make sure to get their kimchi! But also make sure to check your order before leaving. One time I was there, there was a flustered teenager working the front of house. Because I'm a regular there, I touched my order he handed to me and noticed there was no hot soup burning my hand while holding the take out bag. When I brought this up, the chef came out and also mentioned that he had forgotten to pack my two containers of soup. Thank goodness I checked. Unfortunately when I got home, I noticed that he also forgot to pack my two white rice that comes with my soup. So just make sure to double and triple check before leaving when you get your take out! It may be a bit difficult if coming here for lunch due to the dim sum restaurant also being in the same plaza. I got my usual gamjatang. I usually alternate between rice & ramen. This time I opted to have their ramen gamjatang. My husband got their combo (kimchi stew with mackerel). Once we placed our order, we got the complimentary banchan (potato noodles, spicy cucumber, seaweed, kimchi and pancake). The banchan was not as fresh as the ones we used to experience at their Bamburgh Circle location (so sad that this location closed) but was still good & edible. My gamjatang arrived piping hot & the portion was massive. The flavor of the broth was missing the depth of the Bamburgh location but it was still delicious. The portion was so huge that I didn't finish my bowl like I normally do. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his meal especially the mackerel. He said it's the best grilled fish he's had. It was charred well yet the flesh of the fish was still moist. The service was fine. Nothing to rave about. They did their job of taking our order and bringing our food to us. Nothing special. The only compliant that we had is that they were organizing the dishes and cutlery behind the counter making a lot of clanging noises which isn't pleasant while trying to enjoy our dinner. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner and would come back again. My favorite place for Korean currently is Bueokae albeit a bit far.

It is a smaller location compared to the one at Midland & McNicoll Scarborough location; nonetheless, the food here is amazing too! The service is very speedy and courteous - there is always this one lady that takes care of FOH, cleaning up and taking care of everything! You order via QR code online, and the staff will immediately bring you some Korean appetizers to start - all very yummy, and you can ask for refills too! But save room for the food; the food is very satisfying here. I often get the Galbi Tang with beef short ribs, veggies and sweet potato noodles. I love their fried chicken a lot but I can't eat too spicy, so I ask for the sauce on the side for light dipping :) They offer gloves to eat with your hands, and an extra metal bowl to put your bones - very thoughtful!

I like that you can order the egg to be over hard my dad got this and said he liked it. It's his goto! Service was nice. They were so attentive and gave us extra napkins. I do have to say though... They're ALL butter fingers. They dropped things over 5 times on the floor and I saw them put at least 2 of those things back into the clean basket (red) to wipe down and serve. Good thing we sanitize all our utensils everywhere before using them. Vibes are casual. Come in sweatpants. I love their 2000s rnb playlist that they had going.

After we placed our order, they serve us caa cup of hot somen (so good), it warms your stomach. Later the meals came with 5 banchan, they all seasoned perfectly, my favorite is the lotus root and Kimchi. Slice pork broth soup lightly salted and comes with 2 dips (mini sauce pot) on aside, personal preference would be gochujiang mix on the right which gives you a punch of spice. It's hard to find good Korean restaurant in Markham/scarborough. This is definitely a hidden gem, will definitely come back with the boys.

The broth wasn't very salty but still flavourful and once you let the peppers steep into the broth, they add a lovely spicy kick. Another substantial dish is the steamed pork bo saam ($49.99 for large) where slices of pork belly are kept warm on a hot plate. Diners tuck these soft meat slices into lettuce, Napa cabbage, and turnip with a smear of the savoury bean sauce for a protein packed bite. Our table was split about the haemui pa jeon ($28.99). The size of a medium pizza, it's made for a group. Personally, I found it way too thick and didn't contain enough ingredients to balance out the doughiness of the Korean style pancake. Conversely, my relatives preferred the heft as it contrasted the crispy exterior and soft interior. I guess it depends if you're a thin versus pan crust type of pizza lover. I'm firmly in the Neapolitan camp. I thoroughly enjoyed the crust that develops on the bottom of yachae dolsot bibimbap ($18.99). And the hot stone rice bowl contained a good combination of ingredients to ensure there was plenty of vegetables and beef to go around. De Chou's LA kalbi ($34.99) was rather neutral with very little sauce, so you mostly taste the beef. I personally would have preferred more sauce to help caramelize onto the beef ribs, but the older members of the family appreciated the plainness and liked that it was tender.
