I want to tell you which chicken flavours we had and what it tasted like but I think they mixed up our orders so I have no idea what flavours they ended up bringing. The portions were big on all the orders and everything tasted pretty good overall although there were some flavours I liked more than others. Aside from the mix up the service here was generally good and the atmosphere seemed chill so no complaints on that end. While craving fried chicken, we decided to check out this franchise that can be found throughout the city. The plaza is very run down and slightly sketchy, but once you enter the restaurant it feels fine. The decor fun and reminiscent of an American bar. We ordered the cheeseballs, the cheesling fried chicken and a basket of fries. The portions were enough for two adults, especially with the generous portion of perfectly fried fries. The cheeseballs were fun, especially as you can order one of each flavors. But we are here for the chicken, which they definitely delivered on. Rich, crunchy and moist. Haven't been back to BBQ Chicken for over a year and they certainly have a lot of new flavours on the menu! We ordered the bone-in black pepper chicken which was more of a dry rub style. And man was it peppery! It really had a kick to it and at times I found it a bit too spicy for me. Keep in mind, my spicy tolerance is low. The batter was crispy and you can tell that it was seasoned before it was battered as there was a bit of red powder/layer in between. What was quite impressive was that the crushed black pepper stuck to the battery quite well. I really like the portion size as it wasn't too big for 2 people to have with some veggies and carbs. We got their honey garlic (my personal fav), gang-jeong (fav amongst my peers) and their cheesling chicken (new favourite) as well as their Secret fries (so yummy) The chicken is crispy fresh and juicy while evenly coated in sauce, the cheesling chicken has a nice outer crust that breaks off once u bite it and has a nice sweet and savoury cheese flavour, the fries were thin and almost reminiscent of mcdonald's fries with a korean sweet sauce and mayo which paired perfectly with the chicken. 4.5 stars Great quality chicken, perfectly fried and the sauces are fantastic. I was with a small group and with tried the soy garlic, gangnam and mala. Though I usually have a preference for spicy - well even here I do too, but the soy garlic is a great taste that can even briefly set aside my craving for spicy chicken. The gagnam had a nice savoury taste to it, and only being mildly spicy and should be accessible for most. I most enjoyed the mala and would get that again in a heartbeat. Definitely spicier than the gagnam and almost a szechwan taste to it. Some other KFC places offer more to choose from in terms of side or even main dishes, but to be fair, from their very title they're here for the chicken and they do it very well. read more

I wanted to try two different flavours so I ordered the secret sauced wings and the soy garlic chicken. You get quite a lot of chicken for the price, which was nice. The chicken was super crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The reason why I took off 2 stars is because of the flavours. The secret sauced wings were sweet and slightly spicy. They were just okay in terms of flavour, I got sick of them really quickly. The soy garlic chicken had an unusual flavour. It had a strong metallic flavour but it was also a bit sweet. I'm not generally picky with wing flavours but these two weren't my favourite. But I did really like how the chicken was cooked and would love to try different flavours from this place! read more

This restaurant became my favourite place for Korean deep fried chicken. I made 3 visits in a month and their food was always good. I remember they were having a lunch promo 20% off on selected food items including rice and chicken. I rank their Gangjeong chicken 1st. It is a Korean traditional sauce with red pepper, garlic and some sweet flavour. Their honey garlic chicken was also good! I prefer their boneless chicken over bone in chicken because it is different from typical western fried chicken. They used dark meat to make bone less chicken so it was tender and juicy! Over the weekend, I decided to spoil myself with some fried chicken. The last two times I visited, I ordered their classic Golden Fried Chicken and Secret Sauce Chicken. This time around, I wanted to give their other flavours a try and ordered Cheesling and Soy Garlic. Of the two flavours, I found the Cheesling one to be perfect! The chicken was nice and juicy and the powdered cheese is the best thing I ever had! The Soy Garlic was delicious, however, I found the meat to be a little dryer compared to Cheesling. I'm guessing it's because the chicken got cooked a little longer in the freshly made hot soy garlic sauce? Regardless, I really enjoy their chicken and look forward to trying their other flavours next time. Cheesling is definitely a flavour I will order again! This was a different Korean fried chicken place I tried with a friend. The nice thing is they offer to split two flavours which is an amazing option. We got Cheeseling and Spicy Hot. The spicy hot was a good flavour - but definitely mild and not hot. The Cheeseling was an interesting flavour profile, the first couple of bites were delicious but afterwards, I didn't like it for some reason. My friend decided to try their rice cakes and she said the sauce was spicy! It tastes like traditional rice cakes! My friend pointed out that the sauce on the Spicy Hot was cold even though the chicken itself was hot. So not sure what that was about. Anyway overall, pretty good, they have some cool flavours like Mala Hot, which Ill look forward to next time. COVID: temperature check and filling out a short contract tracking form (name and phone number). At the tables, you have hand sanitizer and they bring you service wipes as well. We ordered Secret Sauced and Gangnam Style Fried Chicken (Bone-in). Definitely the best! The secret sauced is super saucy and crispy. The gangnam style is a must try! A more savory style, and I personally love it so much! Generous portion for the chicken compared the one we had in North York inside (M&M supermarket) - totally different taste. Amazing Korean fried chicken. This is more a take out joint and during this pandemic for sure takeout is the way to go. I called ahead and drove 60km all the way from Burlington for these bad boys. The cheeseling boneless chicken is to die for. These have powdered cheese and they're oh so good. I already tried their bone in and we just wanted to have a simpler time eating it so we got the large (full chicken) boneless cheeseling one for about $30+. I also ordered their sweet spicy or spicy secret sauce boneless chicnen one, too and it was terrific. Hardly spicy at all. Still crunchy beneath all that sauce. I split a large boneless half & half with a co-worker. We went with the Original Fried and the Secret Spicy! Let me start by saying the Large is huge! It was 16 large pieces. 8 Original and 8 Secret Spicy. The Secret Spicy sauce from what I have read is imported from Korea. It was sweet with a little kick. I would put it on the mild side. They don't skimp on the sauce. All the pieces were coated nicely. The star of the show for me was the Original Fried. The pieces were super crispy with a light batter. The inside was cooked to perfection and all the pieces were extra juicy. No dry chicken here! The outside coating was spiced perfectly. They even had a little kick that made you want to eat more! Of the two flavours this was my favourite today. They have many other flavours which I'm sure over the next few months I will get through more of them! read more

Delicious and awesome service! Its takes about 20 mins for the order to come out. I have enjoyed their chicken for the last year. We probably order every other week. My personal favorite is the Golden Fried chicken. The Cheesling chicken is also very popular in our home. I introduced this to co-workers and they were immediately hooked. It is that good! The Secret Spicy Chicken was seriously addicting, and the sauce had a nice kick to it. The Original was crispy, but not oily at all. You can also get some at HMART if you can't visit the branches. - Update: The flavour is not up to par from when they initially opened but still good! Recently dined in for the first time instead of getting take out. It's a small place but wasn't crowded at all. I always get the boneless secret sauce chicken and it's pretty consistently good, would recommend if you like more of a sweet sauce. Would also recommend the cheesling fries and I think they recently started using thicker fries. The chicken wasn't ready that fast but it is a pretty small place that gets a lot of orders. Overall still remains one of my go-to kfc spots in the city. read more

I am a huge fan of KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) & trust me when I say I've tried alooot of spots all over the city and no, it's not because of CLOY, but the quality of their chicken, the portion and the flavour choices! I never liked their included pickled radish and asked for a substitute. They always offered dipping sauce or an alternative, but this time the server taking the phone order simply said too bad.
