Outside of the box - nicely vented. Opening it took a little bit to figure out

Went by H-mart and was craving some fried chicken. I was suprised to see this in the foodcourt area. It is close to the freezer area of H-mart. I have tried their Markham location. Service - 5/5 service was quick. It took me awhile to decide what to order but they were patient with me. Ambiance - 5/5 it was on a weekday so there were not a lot of customers. The food court was clean and there were plenty of seats. Food - 4/5 ordered the golden fried chicken. It comes in a combo with fries. It was good - nice and crispy, piping hot. However, there may have been some cross contamination. It wasn't supposed to be spicy but it was really spicy for me. I could taste the gochugaru (Korean red pepper powder). I ate a few and left the rest to my family who can tolerate spice. Overall - 4.5/5 I recommend this place. If I go next time, I'll probably stick to safe, non spicy flavours.

    Secret sauce wings. SOOO GOOD.

An EASY 5 stars. The chicken burger could be a top competitor in the best fried chicken burgers fa sho. Also, I have to mention for a "food court" joint, they really do the damn thang. It does literally take 30 mins for your order to be ready, so be patient. We did cause a bit of a line lol because I have a known shellfish allergy but it's not severe and I haven't had a reaction since I was like three. I do obviously take caution though. They have a sign that mentions that if you have allergies to any of these things (shrimp, peanuts etc) then it is not recommended you eat basically anything on their menu lol. But again, my allergy is not severe. I've picked shrimp out of shumai and ate the pork or picked shrimp out of fried rice lol. I think the issue is the oil they use, so cross contamination, which again, is fine for me. She really recommended against ordering, esp because they've been getting a lot of complaints re. Allergies lately but I was just like YOLO, the hospital is 5 mins away. I was fine lmfao. Anyways on to the actual food part. AMAZING. The wings with secret sauce were suuuuper saucy, just how I like it and 6/7 wings were flats, my favourite! The sauce just hits. It's hard to describe the flavour but ya as others have mentioned it's a slightly sweet but with a kick, sauce. Even though it was drenched in sauce the skin was perfectly crispy. I ate my remaining 3 wings an hour later and it was STILL crispy. I had a couple bites of my bfs original burger and I'm DEFS getting this next time. The chicken was enormous and hella friggin juicy and crispy. It had lettuce, pickles, cheese and I'm not sure what else but it was so good. I would get this with secret sauce when I order it for myself...next time lol. It's been awhile since I had a 5 star food experience. I had to write this one right away. Ahhhh can't wait to try more. I know I will be craving this soon. Oh ya and I'm not dead slash I didn't have an allergic reaction lmao. So good to know. It's been like 3-4 hours since I consumed the wings. =P

bb.q Chicken - Ordering counter inside H-Mart Richmond Hill location

One of the top "KFC" shops has landed at our local H-Mart! It's not just your average Korean fried chicken. BB.Q here stands for "Best of the Best Quality" with over a 1000 stores worldwide. I was quite impressed by my takeout visit during the pandemic! Enough to write a review when everyday seems too hectic to do so, except for businesses deserving of a rave review in these tough times. And enough to visit twice in short order! Let's start with the Golden Original, an olive oil fried boneless chicken dish that tastes light and crispy with tender meat inside. It seems relatively healthy but not quite as good as the red hot Secret Spicy version! The latter is a favorite that's brushed in a sweet spicy sauce made of tomato, garlic and onion, and instantly transports your taste buds to Seoul. Bite a bit and then you know! Menu includes both boneless and bone-in options. This is seriously good fresh out of the box. Imagine having PhDs researching these perfect flavor combinations; that's supposedly what happens at BB.Q's Chicken University. Be sure to order ahead since each batch is made to order and can take 30 minutes with long lines. I had a good feeling, when the first folks I saw leaving H-Mart were carrying 6 boxes! Each large box contains 16-20 pcs, so that's some serious love for Korean fried chicken.

Location/Service This place is actually right inside the food court area of H-Mart. Plenty of parking available in that plaza - it's also nice that you can do grocery shopping while you're here. Indoor dining is not available at this moment. But the store has social distancing measure in place and plexiglass. The staff were friendly and helped me kindly with ordering (since it was my first time). Food The food does take time (prob around 20 min or so) - so they give you a little pager and buzz you when it's ready. It's nice so you can actually browse around the store and don't have to stand there. I tried their C8 (Half & Half) - half original and half spicy (one spice). They unfortunately don't do smaller portions right now (cause it's prob just take out only) - so it was a lot of chicken and cost around $30. The chicken itself was alright. Both flavours were plentiful in portion, boneless - but there were a few pieces that were too battered or really too fat (seems like they forgot to trim some pieces off). The sauce for the spicy was good - it wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be. Definitely this is shareable between 2-3 people and it also comes with a complimentary sour radish (typical side dish for Korean chicken). Overall it was still juicy, which is good. But just a little too fatty for my tasting.

Bb.q Chicken has been my go-to Korean fried chicken place. Chicken is juicy and flavourful. There are plenty of flavours to choose. Our family favourites are honey garlic or soya garlic. The sauce has little hint of spice. We usually order the chicken once we get to HMart and wait for the order while doing our grocery shopping. We also ordered by phone or through UberEats. The chicken are still hot and fresh when we get home.

It was just by chance that we found this place tonight when shopping at HMART supermarket. We were planning on just getting some ready made Gimbap (Korean style sushi rolls stuffed with spinach, pickles, crabmeat) for dinner from the supermarket but some how we ended up getting a box of fried chicken. This chicken place is located inside the foodcourt of HMART. We got an order of the Golden Fried Chicken (whole chicken for $27.99). We saw a line up when we got there so we decided to come back after our shopping. We should have placed our order first because it took them 1/2 hour to make it. It's too bad that we didn't have soju at home which would have gone so well with the fried chicken. Best fried chicken...crispy, juicy and tasty!

10/10 FO' SHO. Korean dramas have taken over my life and I am here for it!!! The product placement in crash landing on you (pls binge watch on Netflix if you have not already) really worked on ya girl and I craved this like crazy even though I rarely eat fried chicken these days - but best believe, freshman 15 Amy back then knows her Korean fried chicken and I've tried all the spots all over the GTA. ...this place tops them all. I can't believe I didn't have to go to Seoul for this. YAY. This is inside H-MART, in the food court. The staff are quick and friendly! You should order first as the chicken is made fresh so it takes 20-30min, and then do your groceries. The little buzzer they give you will ring when your meal is ready! This was fresh, juicy and delicious. Also it wasn't expensive compared to other spots in Toronto like the fry or home of hot taste nearby. We got a whole chicken for $30 tax incl and it was AH-MAZINNGG Pls don't let me get addicted and gain 100lbs from this. Pls.

Red Chak-Chak Korean Fried Chicken. Bbq chicken is one of my favourite Korean fried chicken restaurants. They serve many unique flavours. The red chak-chak chicken is a new flavour that I tried for the first time and tasted pretty good! Make sure to order advance as takes around 30 minutes to fry the chicken.

I love KFC! bb.q Chicken inside food court of Hmart is tasty! I like how crispy and light the breading is. Half and Half: Original and Hot Spicy. The Original is lightly seasoned which I enjoyed but Hot Spicy is pretty mild. Call ahead to order if you want to skip the line. Enjoy them pipping hot right in the food court seating area. You might prefer ordering here because of ample parking instead of going down to Yonge and Finch area. Less hassle if you are driving or living North of Steeles.

So happy that they ordered a location closer to us! We always get the same two flavours which is soy garlic and black pepper and it never disappoints. Our first two time we ordered prawn strips from the chain but now they no longer sell it. You should totally bring it back because it's so delicious!

Located inside hmart, they specialize in fried chicken.. actually, that's all they sell. Either half a chicken for about $12- $13 or a whole chicken for $28; an additional 4 pieces of chicken. They do their chicken pretty alright. It's crispy, it's juicy and light. The original chicken has no other flavour added to it... but whatever they marinade the chicken in, it gives the chicken a funky taste. I just can't pinpoint it. The honey garlic chicken... was very very good. Sweet, strong garlic flavour. It covers whatever taste that the original had. If you're going to come over here for kfc get the honey garlic for sure. It's about a 20 min wait and they don't tell you when it's ready. Looks like they're also on Uber eats as well.

Half n half with secret spice
    Wincy S.

So far, no complaints - we've dropped in a couple of times and the ordering process has been flawless and the fried chicken has been amazing! The half n half is our go-to and it's always the secret spicy sauce for us, flavourful and crispy whether you go bone-in or boneless! The fact they fry upon order means you'll need to factor in some time and it depends on the queue, but they provide a convenient buzzer which allows you to promenade around H-Mart (lots to look at, try not to get hungry-eyes too much and buy too much!). Takeaway is the only option right now but the chicken stays crispy and overall it is well packed. One challenge I've experienced is the pickled daikon on the side keeps tipping over since it doesn't actually get housed inside the box, so it spills vinegar in the bag more often than not. Fortunately, the cardboard box takes it in as opposed to leaving a puddle, and there's still plenty in the container given it's not a complete flip over. Thank goodness also for the plastic bag! Not the most environmental option, but it saved the mess for sure! This location is inside of H-Mart so it's more like a food court booth for takeaway, not a full pub menu, so do keep that in mind!

Left: secret spicy, Right: red chak chak

Okayyyyy I finally gave into the hype after many months of my kdrama addict friend advising me to go and I loved it! My first visit I thought it was just a regular kfc as I tried the typical duo: golden fried chicken and secret spicy sauce. Not too special in terms of flavour but only cuz I've gotten too much of it in earlier years haha. The secret spicy is just a more sweeter n tangier (tomatoey?) ver of the typical yangnyeom sauce. Definitely a keeper in terms of fried chicken alone though: superrr juicy with typical kfc crispyness. Even when reheating, some pieces taste like I just got it out of the fryer. Decided to try again with other flavours before reviewing cuz it's only fair and we wanted something spicier. 2nd visit we found our main star: the red chak chak flavour ooof! It's like a slightly sweeter cayenne/paprika take on the old jollibee spicy powder. Wish they gave us an even amount on both sides tho or a mini tub of the powder; it was so goood!! You also get points for hmart and can shop around while waiting with the beeper they give you which is so convenient. I sound like an ad but it's just me being old.

Ambiance is casual, interior is clean, and service is fast and attentive. We ordered a couple of dishes and they all came out relatively quickly. The banchan (small side dishes) are refillable once only. My favourite banchan of the day were the bean sprouts and eggplant. There were lots of vegetarian and vegan options, such as the Steamed Vegetable Dumplings, Vegetables Bibimbap, Mushrooms Bibimbap, Vegetables Udon, Vegetables Fried Rice, Kimchi Pancake, Soondubu-jjigae (Soft Tofu Stew) in different variations, and more. The menu was pretty extensive, covering the most typical Korean dishes from the stews and grilled items, to a few Korean-Chinese dishes (such as Jajangmyeon) and everything in between. Steamed Vegetables Dumplings were quite small individually, but came in a sizeable portion. I liked the green onion garnish. Taste-wise, they were alright. Vegetables Bibimbap was excellent - good amount of mixed vegetables (spinach, zucchini, mushrooms, carrot strips, lettuce, bean sprouts) and the fried egg was perfectly crispy on the outer edges, with a still gooey and runny yolk. Grilled Croaker was also decent. It had a lot of small bones as it was a whole fish. It came served with purple rice, and we chose to add on extra lettuce. Seafood Knife Cut Noodles came in a big portion - with lots of slippery, thick udon noodles, pieces of seafood (mussels, clams, squid, shrimps, octopus), and a little big of vegetables (zucchini, carrot, onion). They came in a nice seafood-infused broth - perfect for a cold winter day. I'd come again for the variety of menu items they offer (especially the wide selection of vegetarian options), satisfying tastes, and great & efficient service.

This, with an excellent selection of side dishes made the first trip an invitation to repeat visits to try some other dishes on the menu. Since that first visit, I've had a chance to enjoy dinner at Gamasot a few more times. My favourite dishes are Hot Pot Bulgogi, Galbitang, Pork Cutlet and Stir-Fried Beef.
