This spot has been a go-to spot for my family and I over years and they've been very consistent throughout. Depending on the day, this place can get quite busy. So if you're ever hoping to visit with a large group, I recommend calling ahead to reserve a table. This place has been renovated throughout the years to update their look and to ensure a comfortable dining experience. Each visit, the restaurant always looks clean. The servers at this place are always sweet older Asian ladies. They're very kind and polite. They're also very thoughtful, for example, with our meal today, it would've only come with a couple complimentary soups and salads but they gave us a couple on-the-house so there was a pair for each person. For ease of service, there are call bells at each table which are much easier to get attention versus trying to flag down a server. The quality and freshness of their sushi is always on par, which is so crucial when it comes to raw food items. I also appreciate their ratios of fish to rice. Whenever we order tempura, they always come out light and crisp, with no excess oil. For hot items like their dolsot, it always comes out HOT. Parking is always easy at this joint as they have a free lot just outside the restaurant, despite being on busy Yonge Street.

What a lovely local find. Located on Yonge St., north of Major Mac in a small nondescript strip mall. The restaurant itself is not that big with about 6 tables in the main area and then there is another seating area separated by a wall with probably another 4-6 tables? Menu offers your standard sushi and cooked food (udon/teriyaki etc) options. As the restaurant is advertised as a Japanese/Korean restaurant they also carry some Korean dishes. We ordered a sushi combo with 31 pieces. Was a good variety and the fish was fresh. Food comes with the complementary miso soup and salad and we were also given a small serving of complementary crunchy noodle soup! Service was quick and attentive. Good first experience. We would come again!

We came for a quick bento box lunch. Price is great and service was quick. I enjoyed the sushi lunch menu option A - sashimi and sushi box. It comes with a fantastic selection of tempura and a delicious udon noodle soup, which comes piping hot to the table. We mostly all got the same box actually. The teriyaki salmon was also great. Definitely would come back again for a quick bite.

Located on Yonge, North of Major Mackenzie. There is a huge lot with plenty of parking option to select from. The restaurant has plenty of seating options to suit the party size. The staff are plenty friendly. The food is very fresh and flavourful. We ordered a sushi/ sashimi platter with very generous servings. The Seafood pasta was rich and hearty. The Galbi was melt in your mouth and hits all the right notes of flavors Lastly the cold noodle was very refreshing and brought back many memories Definitely a hidden gem and the price is very competitive in today's new economy.

Tried this restaurant for the first time. Upon entering, you're greeted by all the staff and we got to sit in a nice booth. We came around 6:30 and it started getting busy after we sat down. We ordered the Spicy Maki Platter ($71), Galbi Short Ribs ($16), and Salmon Sashimi 9 pcs ($14). The maki and sashimi pieces were massive and the quality was very good. Each person also received complimentary miso soup, garden salad, and some cold noodles. Overall, the quality of the sushi was very good, but prices were more on the higher side. The interior of the restaurant was very nice. Staff and service were good as well. The menu is extensive and you have lots to pick from.

Have been here a few times. The service is always excellent and friendly. To start, we are given salad, miso soup and a warm noodle appetizer. This is nice. The Medium party tray had a good variety of sushi and rolls. These were good and fresh. Tried the Kimchi pizza for the first time. This is unusual - spicy. Quite tasty along with the dipping sauce. Bulgogi - Beef was tender an flavourful. This came with a small bowl of rice. Will return.

A hidden gem in Richmond Hill area, this sushi place serves very fresh sashimi and sushi. They have very friendly staff and you get discount when you pay by cash.

Oyaji is a family-run restaurant that specializes in Japanese and Korean food located in Richmond Hill. They have an amazing variety of options, and a very intimate chill vibe with their more private seatings. Sushi Bento A (Lunch Menu): A great option to get if you really want to try a bit of everything. The udon noodles were chewy, a decent amount of toppings and the broth was comforting to eat. The sashimi was probably the thickest cut I've seen. Overall tasted fresh and had no complains especially it was a lot bigger than I expected. The California rolls and tempura veggies were quite standard but were still decent. Galbi appetizer: This is suitable for sharing especially if you want something extra along with the sushi. Flavour-wise was decent and suitable portions as an appetizer (wasn't too small). The meat was a bit tough to eat but still was decent. Overall, highly recommend this place in Richmond Hill! Great intimate vibes, comforting food, and super friendly service. The staff was really understanding to explain and clarify any questions.

*PRE-COVID PICTURES* This restaurant may look little at first because of its location and how it's tucked away in a plaza BUT I am here to tell you that the looks of this restaurant are truly deceiving because this place is anything but little in terms of spirit and flavor! -[HWEDUPBAP] $14.95 Think of this almost like a Korean-style chirashi! It consists of chopped up raw fish, sliced vegetables, rice, and a hot sauce that Mr. Kang makes himself :D I highly recommend this dish! -[TATAKI ROLL] $14.95 This is probably one of my favorite rolls from this restaurant because it consists an inside that is made up of scallop, kani (crab), green onion, tobiko (fish eggs), tempura bits, and mayo~ The outside is covered by a TORCHED white tuna that is then drizzled with a sweet unagi sauce! aka, everything that is good in life is included in this roll haha SO OUT OF ALL PLACES, WHY THIS PLACE? 1. When you dine in, there are SO MANY LITTLE SIDE DISHES/APPETIZERS that they give to you free of charge! I am not kidding when I say they gave us so many that our table was full before our actual ordered dishes even arrived haha 2. I've only ever received spectacular service from them because the staff have always been warm and friendly whenever I have dined here. All of your questions will be answered in a friendly yet informative manner ~ 3. Their portion sizes are quite generous ~ I leave here every time holding onto my stomach because I had aspirational goals of finishing everything that I ordered but in hindsight, I should not do that because it's literally so painful to try and finish what they give you because of just HOW MUCH they give you :D Honestly, check. them. out.

I went there twice already, and really liked this restaurant. Not just the food but also with the great service! For my first visit, I went there with my husband and we had hot food because of the cold weather. Their Korean dishes were very tasty! For the my second visit, I and my daughter went there before they opened. Since it's Easter holiday, we were not so sure if they would open or not. We've made a call at around 11:30am, and asked if they would open on holiday. YES, they did! And they reserved a nice table for us. We've ordered sushi for 2 people plus one deep fried chicken, they all tasted very good and fresh! My daughter said, "I must go back again!"

Lunch special bento box, comes with udon and edamame
    Jahleel C.

This is my 5th time coming here (yes I counted) and absolutely love coming here for lunch (Sundays lunch special are not offered). It's located in a small plaza beside a women's fitness and hair salon on Yonge and Crosby. This place is family owned and they are all really nice. I always come with my baby here and usually just in time when she naps, so time for lunch! VENUE: They have some assigned parking for Oyaji customers only which is great because the parking can fill up at times. When you enter the restaurant it looks like a small place but all their seats are pretty much booths except for a few, but all tables look more private. They have several more bigger booths inside of the restaurant where the washroom area is. I haven't used their washroom yet.. FOOD/PRICE: Their lunch special bento boxes are well worth it! It comes with edamame, salad, tempura shrimp with a few veggies, and udon (a nice portion too!). All this comes to around $13.75 per person. Food comes quick! I always order the first one that comes with maki, sashimi, and sushi. I also ask for all salmon. Their salmon is thick, pretty good too. Sometimes it's not consistent but nothing major or negative about it in my opinion. They also put a nice amount of dressing on their salad. SERVICE: There is the lady who always served us. She is so sweet and attentive, greets you with a smile. There's also another one who comes out at times to help out. I think she mostly works in the kitchen, but she's also so kind and nice to you. Their service is really good, you'll feel so welcomed. OVERALL: I like everything about this place (just haven't been inside the washroom yet), but only for lunch. Their regular prices look pretty normal compared to Gal's pricing, maybe a tad bit cheaper for some dishes. This is definitely a go to place for lunch if you want something cheap and will fill you up!

This review is based on 1 dining visit and on Korean food only. Short and Sweet review - We ordered Korean food, and it was awesome! Most definitely authentic. Very flavorful. Services were friendly and elegant. Pricing is about 15% higher than market, and portion is at least 20% more than the norm. The math works out, so is the value. We will return.

    Shrimp and vegetable tempura
    K. L.

Visited last week. Food is still great. Had the avocado and cucumber roll. Tons of ripe avocado. Mushroom roll was great too. Shrimp tempura dinner. So crispy and light. Korean rice bowl was authentic and huge serving. Served sizzling hot. Also had the hwe salad. Big pieces of fresh tuna and salmon, crisp vegetables and ridiculously big portion. The kalbi was ok but not as good as the rest of the food. Needs to be charred more.

Ambiance is casual, interior is clean, and service is fast and attentive. We ordered a couple of dishes and they all came out relatively quickly. The banchan (small side dishes) are refillable once only. My favourite banchan of the day were the bean sprouts and eggplant. There were lots of vegetarian and vegan options, such as the Steamed Vegetable Dumplings, Vegetables Bibimbap, Mushrooms Bibimbap, Vegetables Udon, Vegetables Fried Rice, Kimchi Pancake, Soondubu-jjigae (Soft Tofu Stew) in different variations, and more. The menu was pretty extensive, covering the most typical Korean dishes from the stews and grilled items, to a few Korean-Chinese dishes (such as Jajangmyeon) and everything in between. Steamed Vegetables Dumplings were quite small individually, but came in a sizeable portion. I liked the green onion garnish. Taste-wise, they were alright. Vegetables Bibimbap was excellent - good amount of mixed vegetables (spinach, zucchini, mushrooms, carrot strips, lettuce, bean sprouts) and the fried egg was perfectly crispy on the outer edges, with a still gooey and runny yolk. Grilled Croaker was also decent. It had a lot of small bones as it was a whole fish. It came served with purple rice, and we chose to add on extra lettuce. Seafood Knife Cut Noodles came in a big portion - with lots of slippery, thick udon noodles, pieces of seafood (mussels, clams, squid, shrimps, octopus), and a little big of vegetables (zucchini, carrot, onion). They came in a nice seafood-infused broth - perfect for a cold winter day. I'd come again for the variety of menu items they offer (especially the wide selection of vegetarian options), satisfying tastes, and great & efficient service.
