We have a party 12, it's hard to get reservations for that large of a party on such short notice especially for a small restaurant like Hub Sushi. However every time we call they were able to set a table aside for us no issues. This time around was no exception. We do eat a bit earlier at 5 pm so there was plenty of seating. We arrived early and received our table. I check in on Yelp and was pleasantly surprised to get a 20% coupon discount on a special roll. I proceeded with to ask the server what rolls the discount applies to in the menu. The server said they have a new owner and not able to honour the discount. That's how I found out it was under new management. They do have a VIP service where you register online and they give you a free order of fried gyoza or edamame for each visit which they did honour. Thank goodness! However they no longer serve with ponzu sauce. The gyoza was served with the his sweet and sour sauce. Service was terrible. Maybe it was under new management and they were still getting use to the kitchen but our food came very staggered and took a while considering we were not the only ones in the whole restaurant. They mixed up my sister's order of a teriyaki chicken sushi roll, they gave her the teriyaki dinner. But when they corrected the order, her teriyaki chicken rolls came with a piece of hair on the roll. She lost her appetite after seeing the hair and tried to cancel the order. But the server said they can't cancel it and will remake the rolls with no hair. They did end up charging for her order.she didn't end up eating it when the order came and was worried they just picked off the hair. The highlight of the meal was the complimentary fried fish head though. The server also failed to mention that there was a 10% discount for cash payments, which would have been nice to know. The restaurant is quite small but cozy. However, we were seated near the entrance even though there were unoccupied seats farther inside. Anyway, I don't think we'll be returning anytime soon.
