    Hot wings

Got there right around the time they opened because I was craving some chicken wings early. The service was good, and our waitress was very helpful and attentive. The atmosphere was nice, but there isn't much outdoor seating. The chicken was good. I got the "hot" which wasn't as hot as I imagined it to be due to their advertising on the menu. Keep in mind, I have a pretty average spice tolerance, and those wings were not overly spicy in my opinion. The mozzarella sticks were good, but they weren't very big to me. I wouldn't mind going back here. The chicken was good but not something I would brag to my friends about honestly. If you are looking for chicken that's cooked well and tastes good but not spectacular, this place is a good place to try. The chicken sort of reminded me of Buffalo Wild Wings so you all can have some kind of reference.

Met some friends here on a Wednesday night to try some wings. I played it safe and got the lemon pepper. It comes with carrots and celery. You can choose either the blue cheese or dill dip. My friends got armageddon the hottest wings on the menu. They cost four dollars extra. They were sweating, tears were coming from their eyes, gums were burning or getting numb. And one guy was crying. Out of the three, only one guy finished his plate of armageddon wings. The service here was excellent.

Chicken Wings Hot Honey Wings: the taste was totally different from what I was expected for hot honey garlic. It was supposed to sweet and hot. But I only tasted salty and greasy. Medium Hot : was not hot, but too much salty. The extra celery and carrot was not for free. We have been charged for extra vegetable. The service was nice.

Duff's Famous Wings is located on the north side of College between Euclid and Manning in Little Italy. Duff's is a legend back in Buffalo and this place pays homage to the original back in Amherst not very far from where I've bought numerous sets of tires at Dunn Tire. I've never been to the original though, never and as far as Buffalo goes I've only been to the Anchor original once. My impression of the Anchor was that is wasn't that great. Perhaps my expectations were higher because of the name but really nothing stood out as superb regardless of them being the original or not. Duff's I've seen win against the Anchor on Food Wars so since each has their following I figure I should try Duff's. We have numerous locations for both Anchor and Duff's in the GTA so although this isn't the original I'm guessing they go by the same standards and recipes. We went to the place on a Thursday (March 22) and I have to say the place was packed, packed and noisy, very noisy. I found ourselves having to almost scream to talk. I was amazed how noisy it was inside. I get it though it's a sports bar with wings and beer. That is like a magnet for sports loving men like me. Honestly I just wanted to eat there and try their chicken. My friend Monica was taking us out for an early birthday dinner for me and it was a short walk from their place. My wife ordered lemon pepper and I had asked for the hot. The menu says something to the effect that mild is medium, medium is hot and hot is very hot. That's sort of a subjective statement but I suppose if you're going by what others out there consider to be mild, medium and hot I guess that's one way to measure. I still went with their hot but not death or the even hotter because I want to gauge how it is first. I'm necessarily looking for the hottest wings although I like a hot bite from time to time. The hot wasn't really hot for me but it definitely had a decent sting to it. I could have gone hotter but it wasn't really necessary. I liked the flavor and the chicken. The drums portions of the wings were large but the flats portions seems almost disproportionate to the size of the drums. I'd expect bigger flats with larger drums on split wings. I could be mistaken but it was my observation. I've eaten a lot of fried chicken in my life to know. I'm guessing roaster wings but again, larger drums to flats but it could have just been our batch. Being large and by the pound don't expect more than a bowl for a pound which is about 8 large pieces. The wings were naked, and sauced quite well. The sauce was not conservative by any means on the hot wings. The tang and smell was great, not too much of a vinegar tang but a saucy sting. Gauging the hot being the way it was I'm happy I didn't order medium because I think their hot for me is in the Goldilocks zone. I like my wings just about what they served as hot. Any hotter would have been fine but the flavor was great. Along with the wings they give generous servings of both dill and blue cheese along with veg to dip. We also had their fried pickles and mac and cheese bites. Both were good but the star of this place is their wings. Big, meaty sauced and tasty. I had one honey garlic to try and it was also good. I'd be interested to try other flavors. The dry ones like what my wife had (lemon pepper) were also very good. Usually when I eat a lot of wings I like to have a variety of both sauced and dry. The appetizers were good, the wings were better than just good. The roasters alone is something you won't see as commonly used and while Duff's may be famous I can safely say they're much more satisfying and in my overall opinion they're just better than what the Anchor has to offer. The only downside to this place is that it can be rather loud. I'm assuming it would be even worse during a Leafs game or some other hometown game.

I'd been meaning to go here for well over a year! Finally, I was lucky enough today to be in the area and so just walked in. Honestly, after hearing so much about this place, I feel a little let down. I ordered a pound each of the medium and the hot honey garlic wings. Frankly speaking, they were both just okay. I can't rave about either. They were a little too crisp for my liking - in fact you could even say they were a little too tough. They didn't have much meat on them, and were drowning in sauce (see pic). All in all, it was pretty evident that the chicken wings I ate today were stale. What was weirdest of all to me is that they didn't let me take home my left overs (4 pieces out of the 2lbs that i ordered) since it was part of their Tuesday special. Definitely didn't make sense to me. I can only hope that they donated the left overs in some way rather than simply throwing them away. That takes away 1 star and so what would have otherwise been a 3 star rating, is now a 2 star rating. Would not recommend it you're looking for good wings. If you're looking for just a bar and wings, you'd be much better off at wild wings. In fact, you'd even be better off at Hooter's. There. I said it.

Classic spot, actually gets spicy. Food portion could be considered small for the prices. BBQ and lemon pepper wings are delicious

The fries were pretty greasy and didn't taste fresh at all, and the veggies had some dirt / residue on them. The dill sauce was very nice. Upon entering, the mix of greens, woods, and spacious seating was very inviting. However, the service was just decent. Now, let's talk about the food. I was disappointed with the size of the chicken wings compared to other places I've been to. The fries were okay but lacked a punch in flavour. As for the wings, I tried the BBQ bases, KBBQ, and Hickory Smoked BBQ. Despite being advertised with a bit of 'heat,' I could hardly taste any. The dipping sauce was also quite runny compared to the thicker consistency I prefer. Overall, I was a bit let down after all the hype on social media. Many say the U.S. locations are better. It doesn't hurt to try, but there are other wing places that I'd prefer.

The soft opening was 2022-11-17 and grand opening will be on 2022-11-26. On grand opening day, the first 100 customers will get a 6-piece wing combo (worth $14.99). There were 4 of us for dinner. We ordered the following (combos come with fries and a drink). Most wings come with a choice of 2 flavours (except the Tenders only have 1 flavour choice) ranging from not spicy up to 5 flames. 1. Tenders Combo ($12.99) with Honey Garlic. 2. Classic Wings Combo ($14.99) with Spicy Korean Q and Hawaiian. 3. Boneless Wings Combo ($14.99) with Hickory Smoked BBQ and Lemon Pepper. 4. Mixed Wings Combo ($14.99) with Mango Habanero and Louisiana Rub. 5. Cajun Fried Corn ($6.99). 6. Triple Chunk Brownie ($2.99) x 2. With the 4 combos, we chose the following fries and drinks: - Fries: regular, Cajun, parmesan, voodoo. - Drinks: Iced Tea, Root Beer, Fanta x 2. The wings are regular-sized, not the larger buffalo-sized. All the flavours we chose were delicious. We were surprised that the fries were full-sized with the combo, not a smaller amount that I would expect with a combo. I loved the voodoo fries. The 4 combos were more than enough for 4 of us; we had to take home the equivalent of 2 fries and 2 Brownies. The corn was nice - I could have eaten a lot more! I heated a Brownie in a microwave and it was delicious. The staff is so courteous and helpful. There is plenty of indoor seating. The restaurant is clean. The interior is tastefully decorated. I like the lit-up circular centerpiece saying "Danforth". There is no free WiFi (but there will be in the future). The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There are separate male/female washrooms but they are not wheelchair accessible. There are high chairs for young kids. There is paid and free neighbourhood parking. Review 2022-128

A very strong, rich salted egg yolk flavour, with an extremely crispy breading. The seasoning reminded me so much of my favourite Irvin's salted egg yolk potato chips I get from Asian grocery stores. The chicken inside was juicy, opted for the bone-in chicken for both platters and it was definitely a good choice! Sweet as Platter for 1: Whenever I go to korean fried chicken spots I always have to get a sweet & spicy one as a benchmark! This one was pretty solid, good flavour and crispy.
