We are so happy to see a great restaurant pop up on the east side of Slaughter. This was our first time in here and we were pleasantly surprised by how nice this place is. Walking in we were immediately greeted and got a table. The restaurant itself isn't huge but they had quite a few tables of different sizes for small and large groups. Our server was so friendly and attentive. We ordered the tacos Mixtas so we could try several varieties. I was a big fan of the bistek but they were all delicious. The chips taste homemade, the salsa is fresh. The rice and beans were great. The ambiance felt a bit clubby with the flashing lights and the loud music, but we also went on a Saturday evening and it seemed like the people coming in were wanting that vibe. In front of the fire place was a pretty red throne chair, it would be great for a birthday photo op. We will definitely be back, next time we will try breakfast. I want to try the menudo I saw on the menu! This might also be a weird aside but the bathrooms are so...so...NICE. Like fancy doors and stalls.

August 2023-First time here off of Slaughter SE Austin. The food is muy Rico! Awesome! Arrived Sunday afternoon and got the $22 Poblano Asado! Well worth it. Good music and atmosphere. Also posted pics of Menu.

I'm SO excited to have a restaurant on the east side of the highway!! They are located on east Slaughter lane. The chips were disappointing and seemed store bought but the salsa was good. The birria tacos could use more flavor but it was my first time trying birria tacos so I have nothing to compare. The guaraches were really good. There was a mariachi band the night we went. It was a nice surprise for the night. I can't wait to try the taco bar next time. It's only open from 10am-4pm, I believe.

The staff is so friendly and nice. Very relaxed environment and this breakfast was amazing. I've been for lunch and dinner but this is my favorite so far. The only reason it's not 5 stars is the frozen margaritas are so weakkkkkkkkkkk. Gotta have better margs and a happy hour!

Was looking for a close restaurant luckily this one has just opened tucked into slaughter lane past I35. The service was awesome the employees kept checking on us and provided us quickly with any necessities. The restaurant is a casual Mexican bar they do frequent events as there are poster promos. It's a neighborhood restaurant, so it can be popular all at once pick a good hour or go early. There's a good variety of drinks (definitely grab one) and a large selection of traditional Mexican. I got Tacos de canastas (sweaty tacos) because it's rare to be a menu item

Oh h3ll yeah, not only four tacos for around $12~14, they were juicy, flavorful, and NOT drenched in grease. Wifey had to Sopes; $9 (mind blown), so many layers of texture balanced with the right amount of seasoning. We made room for churros; had my taste buds realize what good churros are, freshly fried with just enough moisture in the middle. Will be back for the rest of the menu =P

I truly can remember the last time we had this bad of an experience at any restaurant in ATX and it especially hit home as Mexican food is our calling. With 205 Mex/Tex-Mex joints under our belts this was just plain sad. Service was just down right brutal...we ordered our waters, and a Queso. Waters came first...followed by chips and salsa 5 minutes later...was told our Queso was coming....Mind you there are 3 waitresses and 3-4 customers and there was more socializing then there was service. 15 more minutes pass before I have to get up and ask if our Queso is coming...Its coming she said...5 more minutes she comes out and says they don't have queso...and it just goes down hill from there. We both ordered Enchiladas....wife beef, no beans...double rice....yet only a single serving of rice, which in our opinion the rice just wasn't that good...I went with the chicken, rice and beans...sadly the beans were So bland I had to add salt...something that is unheard for me...again with the rice...ehh....Luckily both enchiladas were rather tasty. Both of our plates had a Guacamole Salad...Lettuce was severely wilted (see photo) and discolored...and the Guac was dark in color and had a "metallic" taste to it.....a true sign that it is days old. Now we also ordered the street corn...Which consisted of nothing but a bowl of watered down corn (see photo)it was literally sitting in water...I understand its steamed corn...but street corn is supposed to be creamy and rich in flavor...this was canned corn at its best...and yet no Tajin (see photo) on top....and they charge 9$ for this...Last but not least, when I went to pay the bill we were told the credit card system was down....something they should make aware to the customers ASAP...including a sign on the door....They were lucky we had cash on us, very rare we do...other then that it would have been a free meal...and truthfully it should have.... This was a shocking visit for sure....I pride myself in my reviews as I take food seriously....its not cheap to go out to eat....and I constantly push for friends/people to break from there regular spots and try something new...this is a type of visit that would ruin it for just about anyone. I wish this place luck and I hope they work to improve on the overall eating experience.

Alright. we went to kome y toma to have dinner and were horribly disappointed. the food was eh, but mostly go for the drinks anyways. will not be doing that anymore after we found a NAIL in our DRINK. management couldn't have cared less, they made a joke about it being a "screwdriver" which would be funny if they comped it. spoiler alert: they didn't. they told us they would comp the drinks, and then only comped the one with the nail. we asked further about it, they argued about taking it off, and then finally did but added miscellaneous charges to make up for the cost of the drink. absolutely ridiculous

This spot just opened in 2023 and was excited to try it since it was nearby where I live! Some friends and I stopped in after doing some car shopping. We were surprised by a Mariachi Band playing for a a gentlemen's 60th Birthday! Pretty great atmosphere definitely fun for a Birthday celebration. I ordered Tacos in a mix variety of Al Pastor, and Pollo. The tacos were decent, nothing to write home about. My friends ordered the Birria tacos and got the same reactions. I also ordered a Margarita which was really delicious! I would come back for the fun atmosphere if anything else!

Environment: This place can either be really quiet OR really loud. If you come during happy hour it's pretty quiet, but if you come after, they usually have something going on (Mariachis, bands, etc.). That is however when this place gets LOUD! Mostly because it's a small restaurant and they still us a mic system. Food: The food here is good, I'll leave it at that. The Tacos de Trompo (pork tacos) is my favorite here. My wife likes the mole here. Drinks: This place used to be horrible for drinks, they were so inconsistent. However, recently this place hired a new bar manager named Adam and he has made a HUGE impact on this place. The drinks are no longer inconsistent and they come out on time. Staff: The staff here seems like they are all mostly family and Spanish is their primary language. If you come here, please just keep in mind that everyone is nice, but there may be a language barrier. Overall: I've been here over a dozen times but that is because it is the closest restaurant to my house. However, this place started off bad but continues to get better. Highly recommend trying it out yourself though.

Stopped by at lunch on a cold breezy day. Had the best bowl of tortilla soup that I've ever had. It wasn't your mom's version. This was loaded with everything lots of chicken and all the fixings. It was so good and really hit the spot. Oh and don't pass on the chips and salsa the salsa was perfect.

Unfortunately, the kitchen just wasn't on their game this day. We went for brunch and it is a lovely restaurant with some amazing looking pastries. My ratings of the food we got are below. Overall, everything was just okay and not something I would order again. Our order: Salami and cheese - 1/10, not even edible with how much olive oil they dumped on it. Hard cheese and meat. None of us touched it. Frites - 9/10, hard to go wrong here. Nice and crispy French cruller - 7/10, I think this is just personal presence here I wished it was warmed up. Flavor was good but it was a little dry. Burger - 5/10, the flavor is there and definitely has potential but it was so bloody and rare which is not what we asked for. My friend has a gluten allergy and she asked for the burger lettuce wrapped and it just came on top of a huge chunk of iceberg so wouldn't recommend that if you want it lettuce wrapped. Chicken sandwich - 8/10, this was good with a nice crispy chicken. It could have used something sweet to balance the spice though it was a little one dimensional.

We were both starving and this place is open 24/7. I drove by it for 20 years on the way to Avenue Barber Shop. I wanted shredded beef tacos but couldn't get them without cilantro so I chose shredded beef enchiladas (with an $8!) side of chips and salsa. My wife ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and home fries. She requested soft eggs, as she always does because too many places overcook them. The chips and salsa arrived. I was immediately disappointed. The menu said "we make our own chips." They were thick and yellow and appeared to be run-of-the-mill, out-of-a-bag chips. I prefer the thin white ones. I took one bite of salsa, and that was one bite too many. Cumin. I pushed it all aside. Cumin doesn't belong in salsa. (Sorry. I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley.) My enchiladas came with black beans, and there was cumin in them. Cumin is overused and abused in most restaurants. I couldn't eat them. The rice was good but the chipotle sauce on the enchiladas was not. I scraped most of the sauce off and ate one enchilada, mainly because I just needed something in my stomach. We were still 45 miles from home. I pushed my plate away. I also ordered coffee. One sip of that was all I could stand. Too weak for me. It gets worse, much worse. My wife's eggs were barely cooked. She asked the waiter for some cooked eggs. He took her plate and returned about four minutes later. The eggs were still not cooked. She tried another bite but couldn't eat them. Her bacon was tough as a boot and not chewable. The home fries were average, but by the time her plate arrived at our table for the second time, they were cold. I pulled my card out waiting for our excellent server to return. He asked how everything was (he had to notice two plates still covered with food) and we politely told him. I ate one enchilada and some rice. My wife had two bites of egg and two bites of potato. He apologized and handed me the check. $65. Nothing comped and nothing adjusted. A manager should've been summoned. How does a place like this have any customers? It was our first and last visit.
