Your arms are over my stomach
Omar A.

I read somewhere that happiness is not about getting all that you want, it is about enjoying everything that you already have. In essence, happiness equates to gratitude. If we are grateful, we will be content instead of being in misery while we continue to seek more. I am so grateful for Koko's Bakery. The freshly made spinach pies and zaatar manakeesh that are baked on a daily basis fill me and my stomach with so much joy. The blissful scent that emits from them garners a sense of jolly that only gratitude can. I am on cloud nine and I have this bakery to thank. So thank you Koko's. I appreciate you.

This is my favorite lahmejune in LA. The flavor of the lahmejune beats what I've had in Glendale at Sasoun's and other places.

I also shared a Ube pancake with my daughter and it was like a yummy Ube cake, little heavier than a pancake but lighter than a cake. The coffee was good and the OJ was fresh squeezed. The food came out real fast and I was surprised because they were so busy.

After having the same breakfast places over and over again, I tried this place after my sister's friend suggested it. There is paid street parking around but there are also tons of parking garages to choose from. The restaurant is bigger on the inside than you would think. There is a large front patio dining area, and then right through the doors is the ordering counter. You order your food first and then you get a table number. I'm not sure how it is on weekends but we were told to pick any table we wanted. The menu was easy to follow and they had a great selection of different delicious options. My sister and I each ordered a savory item and then a sweet plate to share; we got the kimchi crab cake benedict, the bacon jam burger, and the ube french toast. THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS! It came out super fast, looked amazing, and tasted super ! The staff were also very fast on their feet and busy. Cant wait to try new foods soon!

The place was packed, and we were lucky enough to grab the last available table. I ordered the stacked pancake breakfast along with an iced matcha latte, which was refreshing after a workout class nearby. My husband chose the brisket lunch burrito. Our food took quite a while to arrive, close to 30 mins! But the staff was very apologetic and even brought us a complimentary muffin while we waited. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and delicious. I swapped the bacon for tofu, and it made for a satisfying breakfast. However, my husband wasn't as impressed with his brisket burrito, saying it was a bit dry. Based on this visit, I'd recommend sticking with the breakfast items, pastries, and of course, the coffee. Copa Vida still makes a great cup of coffee!

Shout out to the manager Daniel and Gary my server for another great experience at Nick's. As far as the ambiance goes it is also a great experience no matter where you sit. Me personally like to sit in view of the cooks to watch them work their magic. Thanks again Nick's for another fantastic visit! Most of us ordered the ribeye sandwich at his recommendation, and my goodness, was it good. Everything about it was perfect. The toasted bread, the cook on the ribeye, the portion size, even the fries that came with it. I think about that sandwich pretty frequently now. Their skinny margaritas were also fantastic. Had a few of those that night, haha. Service was excellent, almost TOO excellent, if that's even a thing. Our server checked on us so frequently that it felt like our conversations kept getting interrupted. But I suppose there are worse problems to have. Great food, great drinks, great service. Will most definitely be back, especially for that sandwich.

You feel genuinely appreciated from the moment you walk through the door. The food is simply delicious, especially the tartines! I've spent time in Paris, and I can say without hesitation that the tartines here are even better than the ones I've enjoyed in France!! Really! Beautifully prepared, wonderfully flavorful, and absolutely worth coming back for. And don't forget to add some confiture de lait with the jam!! And a special mention for the owner, who couldn't be kinder or more gracious. That warmth and hospitality clearly carry through to everyone working here. It's rare to find a place where the food, service, and atmosphere all come together so perfectly. Five stars, without question. A little taste of Paris, only friendlier--and dare I say, even more delicious!

Parking here is really convenient and directly connected to rear entrance. It is your classic diner feel, not a big, place so not the best for big groups, we were lucky to get the main corner booth, and there were 7 of us, and we were comfortable. Service was fast and friendly. Orders came out fast. Food again is your general diner food. - steak and eggs were huge portion, but the steak was very bland. - Home fries, and hash were good, standard diner sides. Loved the tater tots but again standard. - Country fried steak was good, one of their better dishes, very satisfying - chili cheese fries were very good, had beans, but i love beans, so it preference. The French fries in general are really good. - Turkey club was good, but standard, nothing different you could get anywhere else. I think what they do best here is the pancakes, waffles and baked good. We got blue berry pancakes, and Belgian waffles, all great, moist, flavorful, the waffles had a nice bite, while still being moist. - the Banana Bread here is awesome and you can get it as a side. They were very limited with napkins and to go boxes, which i thought was strange, like 3 napkins at a time when we asked and there was 7 of us, we kept having to ask for more boxes because we had a lot of leftovers. But so fast with refilling drinks and coffee. Overall, a really good experience, nice staff, fast, fun neighborhood vibe, good prices, standard diner food, nothing that stood out except for the Banana bread. Would definitely come back but not wait in line, Dragon egg approved.

Bone and Kettle is an Indonesian and Asian fusion restaurant. I was expecting some whole oxtail, and even if the oxtail is shredded, there was barely any in the oxtail hash. I could barely taste it and it was essentially a garnish instead of a main ingredient. Island plate was very good, especially loved the sausage and the chicken wing was super tender, juicy and perfectly fried and season. Adobo sandwich was also good, the fries were yummy but a bit too salty. The brioche was very dry and crumbly though. Garlic shrimp appetizer was delicious. Overall, everything was good except the oxtail hash. Don't order the oxtail hash unless you wait basically no meat, order literally anything else! Service was decent, waitstaff were nice and refilled the water. It did take a pretty long time for our food to come out, though, although the oxtail hash came out at least 5-10 minutes before the other entrees - perhaps because it's easy to put some fried potatoes and eggs in a bowl compared to dishes that actually contain meat. We sat outside and it was very nice out, inside also looked very elegant and pretty. Will hopefully come back to try the dinner menu, but I am very much unhappy with the lack of oxtail in my oxtail hash for the price I had to pay for it.
