    Purple Love (Taro) no caffeine

Yum! I always love a good boba tea, and this one on the 2nd floor of the Galleria Mall hits the spot literally! There aren't too many food and drink places on the second floor so it was strategically placed to give you a shopping break in my opinion. They had so many boba teas and iced coffees here. Since it was the afternoon I was looking for a caffeine free option, and I found it with the Purple Love. It's Taro. It was so delicious and hard not to chug it all in one sip. I just LOVE boba teas!

Oh Wow! Yelp! Walking around in the Galleria with my hubby. He gets super thirsty and wants some tea. So we buzz into the cutest tea shop. He don't know a thing about boba tea, but, he ALL ready. There are 2 nice young men present and eager to serve, answering all the newbies questions. (I'm a newbie too) Manning is front and center giving all the great details and Kevin is the barista for the day. Thanks guys. I chose the virgin mojito with mango and peach, hold the mint and boba. Simply delicious! Bae got the passion fruit, hold the boba. It's okay. He said it tastes like medicine and nursed it all the way home to the trash. Don't worry, I loved it, This stuff here good. And, I love Tea! This boy don't drink no tea. Y'all already know, when I'm happy, I shall return.

Boba in Birmingham isn't great to begin with, but I'm truly surprised Kokee has survived for so long. I rarely go to the Galleria but every time I do, I tend to get a craving for a boba. Each time I half regret it. The boba itself is either super mushy or undercooked all in one drink. On my last visit we got a dalgona coffee flavored drink and we had to throw it out. I like a bitter coffee but this was something else. It was terribly concentrated and not to mention 60% filler ice, masked by the drizzle all around the sides.

First time trying this tea spot since there was no line, no wait. It's located upstairs in the Galleria and usually has a line out the door. I'm still really new to the Boba tea experience so it takes me a moment to figure out what's good. The cashier wasn't very informative. He answered the basic questions but didn't make any effort to guide us to a good selection. I ended up with the mango passionfruit tea, which has a green tea base. The tea itself wasn't sweet and needed that strawberry Boba to give it some umph! I drank it all but wasn't impressed. I would return, but I'd do my research and be sure of what I want next time... no reliance on the staff.

I've become a boba junkie. It's ridiculous. This was my first time trying this place and I was hesitant because of other reviews. I'm so glad I tried it out for myself! Order - strawberry milk tea with tapioca boba and coconut jellies Yumminess- Maybe i just happened to order the most perfect combo? Because it was absolutely delicious! Service- The staff were very patient and kind. (I had a toddler with me.) They completed my order very fast. Space - Shop was very clean Price - on par with similar boba shops

Whenever I come into the Galleria Kokee always has a line. There has never been a time where I haven't seen people coming in and out! I decided to finally stop by. I ordered the Oreo C&C Brown Sugar and added boba. I didn't really care for for my drink (it tasted solely like milk with Oreos in it) and the honey boba wasn't good. The staff was friendly though so I wouldn't mind going back and trying something different.

After moving to Birmingham from Florida, I was disappointed by the many of the boba places nearby. However, the tapioca and tea at this place actually tasted fresh and brewed. This place has the best boba in the Birmingham area. The lil macaroon was also good. Unfortunately it's in the Galleria Mall, I wish they had a second location or a pop-up truck.

I'm very happy to have this new franchise, bubble tea place in the Gallleria mall. This corner storefront is located on the second floor; about fifty yards from the food court. It is roughly across from Victoria Secret, and at the top of the nearby escalator. The drink options are wonderful, and the menu is helpful. But for a first timers, all the decisions can be a bit daunting. You pick a tea flavor, style, add-in(s), and sweetness level. On this visit I ordered Honey Dew, slush, fruit jellies, and regular sweetness. It was about $6 and a good size drink. We visited on a Thursday night and they were out of bobas! Those perfectly squishy, tapioca balls are my favorite part of bubble tea. What the heck?!?!?, you can imagine my disappointment. Service was a bit slow. There were a handful of customers waiting for their orders, and ours took about twelve minutes. This along with running out of boba are some kinks that need to be worked out.

Brown Sugar Milk Tea with Boba

Atmosphere: Kokee Tea is a boba shop in the Galleria Mall. The interior is clean and simple, but there are no places to sit inside. Service: There was no line when we went, so our order was taken very quickly. Our boba came out even faster, literally in 2 minutes, which was honestly shocking. Food: We got the Brown Sugar Milk Tea with Boba Pearls at 50% sweetness. The tea was not as good as we were expecting. It was simultaneously too milky and too syrupy, giving the drink an artificial taste that was too sweet. We didn't get that uniform, smooth brown sugar taste, and we felt like we got a drink with no harmony or cohesiveness. Additionally, the drink barely had ice in it, so it was not very refreshing. Overall: Kokee Tea is definitely not the best boba we've had, but with limited boba options in Birmingham and Kokee Tea's convenient location in the mall, we can see how their boba can serve as a nice shopping break. We likely would not come back due to their steep prices (~$7 for one drink) and low quality.

A coworker told me about this place, so I came here the next day to check it out. A legitimate, dedicated bubble tea place in Birmingham, Alabama that serves excellent bubble tea! Your average Birminghamian probably doesn't know what bubble tea is, and only a handful more may venture out to try it. So if you are curious enough to search this place on Yelp and read this review, go try it! Keep them in business! I've had bubble tea at two other places in Birmingham - one was good and comparable to this place, the other was horrible. At Kokee, I've ordered the Purple Love (Taro) tea and the Creamy Jasmine tea. Both were very good - smooth and not filled to the brim with ice. Pricing was fair, given the quality. One area of improvement is making sure the proper ingredients are stocked - the second time I came, they ran out of boba (tapioca pearls)!

Nice treat for when you're walking around the mall. The worker was really nice and let me put coconut in my taro slush. Good amount of sweetness. I enjoyed my drink. It is a bit pricey though

I'm a boba tea lover! Not the best. Decent for Birmingham, Alabama. I usually go to Thirstea (boba is better there but milk tea isn't great) It's decent for a quick fix. I got the Kokee milk tea with "regular" sweetness and honey boba. They told me the wait for honey boba would be 20 mins but I got it sooner (about 10 mins). -A little pricey (about 7 dollars) with one topping -One size choice -Boba consistency was not fresh. A little hard and chewy on some -Tea flavor was not super strong which is good but the flavor of the drink was OK. Not terrible. If you want good Boba tea you will either have to learn how to make it or go to Atlanta Georgia. I like Kungfu tea and this new place called Unbelievable is a must try (get jasmine milk tea or the mixture below it; can't remember the name) Boba consistency is fantastic!

I love Orange sangria at this place. I always take a drink whenever I go to Riverchase Galleria. Their milk tea and fruit tea are best cafe I've ever been.

The baguette is crisp on the outside, tender inside--everything you want it to be. Every item feels carefully made, never rushed. What stands out most is the consistency and care. Breadworks manages to feel elevated yet welcoming--refined without being pretentious. It's clear they take pride in both their craft and their process, and it shows in every bite. The Sweet and the Absurd: A Birmingham Creamery's Baffling Economics…read moreTo step into Big Spoon Creamery in Birmingham is to subject oneself to a masterclass in both artisanal delight and bureaucratic absurdity. On my visits--a pilgrimage undertaken reliably every month and a half--the front-line staff have never been anything short of exemplary. They are the cheerful stewards of a deeply baffling system, executing their duties with a warmth that almost distracts you from the institutional quirks around them. I say "institutional" because the management themselves are entirely phantom. They are never seen on the floor. Perhaps this is a calculated evasion; if they were ever present, they would surely have to field a relentless, exasperated inquisition regarding the tragic and ongoing absence of their finest creation: the "Magic City." Why an ice cream parlor would willingly suppress its undisputed masterpiece remains an enduring mystery. Even if the economics of its ingredients demanded a premium surcharge, "Magic City" ought to be enshrined as an immovable staple on the menu. Instead, the menu is a restless, ever-shifting carousel. I concede that a relentless churn of novelty is a virtue to a certain type of customer, but the soul of a great neighborhood institution relies on the comforting reliability of a few anchor flavors. At Big Spoon, just as you develop an affection for a flavor, it vanishes into the ether. Then, we must examine the rewards program, an endeavor so poorly conceived it borders on the avant-garde. The mathematics are punishingly flat: one point per order, regardless of whether the patron spends a single dollar or one hundred. The rational response to such a broken incentive structure is, naturally, to weaponize the system. To extract any genuine value, the savvy customer is forced into a theatrical display of micro-transactions, paying for each scoop separately. It is a loophole that needlessly punishes the very staff who make the establishment shine, forcing them to run the register three or four times for a single family's dessert. Finally, there is the creamery's bizarre pricing taxonomy. A close study of the board reveals an accidental arbitrage opportunity: the customer is objectively better off purchasing two distinct pints of ice cream and two empty waffle cones to assemble on their own time, rather than engaging in the straightforward, intended transaction of ordering ice cream scooped directly into a cone. Whoever is pulling the levers behind the curtain at Big Spoon clearly fancies themselves a clever operator, disrupting the traditional ice cream parlor model with dynamic menus and gamified loyalty. But in their pursuit of perpetual novelty and labyrinthine economics, they have embodied the old proverb perfectly: they are entirely too clever by half.
