I tried the passion fruit tea with tapioca pearls and a Vietnamese coffee--both were good. Personally, I prefer fruit slush drinks that are sweeter than straight teas. Just a short walk from Up Down Arcade, Leafly Boba is a quaint little "coffee shop" not far from UAB. In fact, many students stop by to study, play games or just to chill. There's nothing much to the entrance, but when you enter you're greeted by a bright, large electronic menu on the wall. The interior wall decor is very eye catching from the large two tone painted wall to the glowing cup of tea with bobba. The workers are so friendly and I met one of the owners who couldn't be nicer. Linh ordered one of their waffle pops. What a cool item. The owner explained that it was a special recipe. Paul and I tried one of their 2 non-caffeinated items, the Tropical Fruit Punch. I like how you can request how sweet you want it. He added some bobba while I asked for the Lychee Jelly topping. We picked out a table and waited a few minutes and goodness that fruit punch was outstanding! It was flavorful yet not over powering with sweetness. And the lychee jelly... Yom Yom Yom Yom! I spotted at their counter a Voted Best of 2025 sign. Also on their counter are Cup of Noodles style containers. What a great idea. You can enjoy a meal with your drinks. Leafly meets all the requirements of an amazing tea/coffee spot. It has plenty of options, chill and unique ambiance, friendly staff, and open late. The service is quick and everything is affordable as well for what you're getting. This can be a study spot or a quick lunch + pick me up (hello waffle pops or building your own Korean Ramyeon??)) and easily a coffee date. For my first visit I grabbed a matcha latte in the evening. Although there's staff, there's also some kiosks to order from. The hitech menus are a nice touch. The matcha latte was even nicer. It was sweet with chocolate drizzle to go along with the rich umami of the green tea. The tastiest boba and teas in Birmingham! Leafly Boba has a huge menu of teas to choose from and freshly made mochi waffles. We tired the Gingerbread Milk Tea and the Cinnamon Egg Cream Coffee. These are both seasonal drinks and they were phenomenal! You can adjust the sweetness and add boba to all the teas here too. While sipping on our drinks, we ate some ramen from the dry goods selection. They heat up the ramen there and offer toppings that you can add. Toppings include spam, cheese, nori, quail eggs, and green onions. Post drinks and ramen came the mochi waffles. They are made to order- served fresh and warm! There's a few different flavors to choose from, each with their own combination of a sweet drizzle and cookie crumbs. All in all, the drinks are to die for and the mochi waffles are too good to skip. If you are looking for more authentic milk teas, then Leafly is for you. These are *not* the neon and bubblegum colored drinks concocted with syrups and usually way too sweet. My standby is Black Sugar Jasmine Milk Tea. It's sweeter than something like the Dark Roasted Oolong, and the jasmine makes it light and fresh. I also tried a Black Sugar Boba Mochi Waffle Pop, because of course, more boba! Super fun to eat, and I look forward to trying the other flavors of mochi waffle pop. Leafly was a little hard to find, but a lot of that has to do with the construction in the area and Urban Supply not being fully occupied yet. Leafly is right in the middle, facing a open courtyard area. Also, if there's a Barons game, parking may be a little hard to find, but the Urban Supply development and surrounding area is easily walkable. Quick service, clean bathrooms, and friendly staff. My group of 5 stopped by during EDC weekend, so we were prepared for a wait. The storefront is small with limited seating for people waiting and a line that sticks to the wall. Despite the wait, we were helped and served quickly. The bathroom does have a code, but a bobarista happily gave it to me when she saw me waiting at the door. I ordered a wintermelon milk tea, less sweet, with boba. My friends got the strawberry matcha and fresh fruit teas. All were great-- the fresh fruit is especially refreshing. I would get half sweet next time though! read more

What a hidden gem my wife and I found tonight! I've lived in over 10 different major cities in the country and I'd have to say it's one of the best boba places I've ever been to (and easily the best in Birmingham)!
