Great variety of drinks, very cute interior (with plenty of outlets for people wanting to study), and friendly service! The self-service machine was overall convenient and very helpfully includes recommended sweetness levels which I found to be spot-on. Sizing and pricing was pretty average for Birmingham. My grass jelly black milk tea was fantastic--just the right amount of sweetness and the tea flavor was aromatic! Had to wait a little longer for my order but only because they were busy.

I'm a tea fanatic and this place is delicious, also the super cute decor and ambience is a definite bonus plus.. Give this place a try.

I really enjoyed this location! The vibe of this new location is very nice! There is seating downstairs and seating up stairs! It is a great area for students to go hangout with friends or even study with friends! There are so many ports for chargers to use, and there's plenty of seating and tables too! They have such a large menu meaning that there are so many choices to choose from! One of my favorite drinks that I have gotten from Nón Lá Tea is their Chamomile Jinxuan Oolong tea with brown sugar boba! Their Vietnamese coffees are so good too, it is so rich and bold! Their staff members are very nice and quick to get you your drink! I would definitely recommend this cafe to friends!!

The sweetest shop owner and my favorite place to get tea! Walking in, the smell of fresh brewing tea greets you along with the friendly faces! The store has a good amount of seating for studying as well. It's decorated in a minimal but beautiful way bringing homage to its Vietnamese roots. My drink was perfect with it not being too sweet and very balanced with herbal and fruity flavors. So in love with this place and will be a regular here for sure!

I ordered the Pandan Caffè Latte, and I was really pleased with it. The coffee was strong but not overpowering, and the Pandan "cloud" foam was delicious. I especially loved how thick the foam was--it stayed on top even after I finished my coffee! Another thing I appreciate is that Leafly stays open later in the evening. If you're looking for coffee in Birmingham after 5 p.m., this is definitely a spot to consider. They also have plenty of seating, making it a great place to get some work done or meet up with friends. Their instant ramen options, which allow you to customize your bowl with different toppings, are another fun addition to the menu. The staff was friendly when we arrived and helpful while I was ordering. Overall, I had a great experience and will definitely be back in the future!

Seating: Both inside and outside seating. Great for groups and patio seating outside to keep you dry. Vibes: It's in a plaza, maybe 10 minutes away from Downtown Birmingham. The plaza consists of restaurants, a gym, and a grocery store. The spot itself is spacious, clean, and welcoming. A great place to hang out with friends or be friends. FOOD: Peppermint Boba (Recommend) A seasonal drink that was a pleasant delight. The peppermint wasn't too strong, it was well balanced with milk and the boba was chewy. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Great! The store opened and there was a rush of 3 customers. The kid in front took care of it well. TL; DR OVERALL: 5 Stars. Great! This is a solid enough representation of boba so it's glad to be shared here in the Dirty South! The prices are reasonable, food is delicious, and I appreciated the range/variety they provided. For those craving a boba fix, be sure to check this place out! Shoutouts to Ashley and Tam Duong for bringing this delight to Alabama and best wishes to new owner, Hugo Anguiano, and his team on this business. I came one night during our first cold snap of the season with a couple friends, looking to warm up with some soupy goodness. I ordered the classic chicken pho and dressed it up with all the bean sprouts, lime, and chili oil. It's perfect without all that, but the chili oil mixed in with the broth really sends it over the edge. We also started with an order of spring rolls where I asked our lovely waitress to "surprise us" with her favorite. I believe what she brought us was spam spring rolls, which I never would have ordered of my own volition, but were fantastic. The dipping sauce was great, too. Something in the peanut family but not fully a peanut sauce, I think. This place is run like a well-oiled machine. They churn out food quickly and run some no-funny-business service. Exactly what I'm looking for for a weeknight dinner. Prices are great, it's a huge bowl of pho. I'll be back here for sure the next time I need a pho phix.

Hometown Grocery has become my go-to when in Birmingham. The more I shop there, the more it feels…read morelike a hidden gem that deserves far more recognition. What sets it apart isn't just one standout feature--it's the rare combination of variety, quality, and fair pricing all in one place. Start with the produce section. The vegetable selection is genuinely impressive, with enough variety to build vibrant, fiber-rich salads that never feel repetitive. Whether I'm in the mood for something earthy and hearty or light and crisp, there's always a fresh option ready to go. It's the kind of produce aisle that makes eating well feel effortless rather than like a chore. Then there's the meat counter, which might be my favorite part of the store. Hometown doesn't just stock the basics--they carry cuts that most grocery stores overlook entirely. Fish backs, pork riblets, braised ribs--these are ingredients that serious home cooks know are gold for stocks, slow braises, and deeply flavorful one-pot meals. Finding them fresh and well-priced, rather than having to hunt through specialty butchers, is a genuine luxury. And that's really the heart of it: the prices. Everything here feels fair, even generous, given the quality you're getting. In a landscape where "fresh" and "affordable" rarely show up together, Hometown manages to deliver both without compromise. Shopping here feels like being let in on something the rest of the world hasn't caught onto yet. It's not flashy or over-marketed--it just consistently delivers. Honestly, more grocery stores should be built this way: thoughtful variety, real freshness, and prices that don't punish you for wanting to eat well.
