This newly opened sushi place is located in the Ace Hotel in Brooklyn. Tucked inside the hotel's lobby is this private area. You'll see japanese curtains, making it hard to see what's going on behind. As You get closer to see around the curtain. Slightly visable, along wooden bar that wraps around this sushi counter. The space is perfect for a semi-private dining experience. The sushi was so flavorful and not like the subtle sushi you're used to. The rice was absolutely fantastic, the flavor forward rice made each course more memorable. My favorite was the scallop! Wow it had a hint of spice and we requested heavy wasabi! Chef Kevin was thrilled to hear we loved his style of sushi. The asparagus fried in the rice cracker batter was phenomenal. The taste of the crackers made me think of my childhood. Overall an amazing experience and I will most definitely be back. Try the add on sake pairings with your meal! It will make a huge difference! This place is very new, so get it before it gets too busy to snag a seat!! Recommend the Kani Handroll! WOW!!

What an incredible evening! From the wonderful greeting and cozy space to the divine sushi served, this was nothing short of spectacular. The host was gracious, kind and guided me to the perfect sake to pair with the food. The chef, Kevin, was engaging and simply watching him work to prepare each dish was an absolute pleasure. Do not hesitate to book this for an evening of the freshest fish and gorgeous plating. You will love every moment & every bite!

The food is wonderful--creative with terrifically subtle flavors. We had a 14 course omakase menu and got the opportunity to experience a full array of the talents of the two chefs starting with a wonderful seasonal sashimi. It was great fun to interact with our chef and the overall staff was extremely attentive. This is not an inexpensive meal but the food, service and environment was excellent. We really loved the calming atmosphere--it has been a very long time since we have been in a restaurant with wonderful and calming music and all at a volume easily allowing for conversation. We will certainly go back.

Decent omakase but did not blow me away for the price. Rice texture was slightly off for half of the pieces.

An absolute gem in South Park Slope!…read more We happened to be staying at a friend's place a few blocks away and was looking for something open on the later side with great food. We searched Yelp and came across Konoba Yakitori, and it absolutely hit the spot. My daughter and I loved our entire experience--everything from the food to the local neighborhood vibe to the incredibly friendly, attentive staff. Everything we ordered was fresh, cooked to perfection, and reasonably priced. We had the gyoza, edamame, Hamachi Lover, Ebi Shu Mai, and the $15 Beef Set (three beef skewers), accompanied by hot tea and Ramune. The beef skewers were a highlight--tender meat with seasoning that was spot-on. Warm, welcoming, prompt, and super efficient. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating, and our waiter was extremely helpful in guiding us through the menu. Top-tier service all around. The space is small and cozy with a simple, comfortable design. Seating is a bit tight and close to neighboring tables, but there's nothing wrong with being snug, rght? It gets busy, but customers tend to eat quickly, so even without reservations, the wait moves well. Most importantly, despite it being a intimate spot, we never felt rushed at all. It's simple, which is what makes it amazing. An incredible restaurant all around--I love this place and can't wait to return. Highly recommend!

Though, I should mention I only recently learned to enjoy…read moresushi and have not indulged beyond salmon rolls and haven't yet gained appreciation for raw fish with a bite. Regardless, it's the best salmon roll I've ever had -- buttery with a delicate, fresh flavor wrapped in fragrant rice in perfect proportions. After experiencing the first salmon roll that I could stomach and finally understanding the hype a while ago, I've tried dozens of rolls throughout the city at many price points and this was my favorite experience. It's also relatively very affordable; my meal of a miso cod appetizer (flaky scrumptious simplicity), miso soup, a salmon roll, and green tea cheesecake came to $54 + tip. The service was also excellent. I'm the sort to dine solo with a novel, want to be completely left alone, and not notice the quality of service at all. The waitress provided the feel of an independent experience while also being very attentive, pleasant, and informative. There was an art to her skill that prompted me to observe and note an art to the service I rarely do. The staff was very watchful and reaction; everyone was well cared for. I'm inspired to try something over than a salmon roll. This seems to be the place to do it. I'll also add I was surprised to read the review on them refusing to let a guest take their leftovers home. I had just a few bites of my dessert remaining, and they asked me if I'd like it boxed unprompted.

Tried the Omakon, chef choice 5 shashimi, 6 nigiri and 1 handroll. Overall I loved each round of seafood. They picked the progression perfect. There was a really buttery fatty tuna and the mackerel was the best I have ever had. I really enjoyed the meal and will certainly come here again. We were both sufficiently full but ended up getting dessert. The mochi came in 3 flavors and was a great ending to the meal. I will also say the prices are great for some really solid suchi.

The portion size lined up with the cost, and more importantly, the quality delivered. Every sip of the broth and every slurp of the udon made it clear this was a thoughtfully prepared dish. I went with the niku udon on recommendation and it lived up to it. The flavor was rich and satisfying, and the quality of the meat really stood out. What really put things into perspective was visiting Raku shortly after. At a similar price point, the difference in portion, flavor, and quality of ingredients was noticeable. Muteki felt more filling and more complete as a meal. I left genuinely happy with the experience and would definitely come back to try more of their udon options.

To start off, we had the Cheeseburger Dumplings ($12), which was so unique. We've never had something like this and they executed it really well. The dumplings were filled with meat and fried with a skirt. The cheese part was topped over it like a melty dressing, so a delicious and special dish here. Plus, it had a side salad to balance all the grease here. For the entrees, we had to get the udon and shared the Niku Udon ($25) and Salmon Ikura Udon ($30). It was a nice combo between a hot and cold udon. The Niku was your classic udon bowl filled with plenty of beef and a perfectly soft-boiled egg. The broth was sweet and savory for a warm and comforting meal. On the other hand, the salmon udon was quite unique with matcha udon and fresh salmon. There is a dashi to pour and mix into the noodles, which still gave it flavor and the slurp you want in a udon. Both were so great in its own way. Even their ramen also looked great, but I love all noodles. Definitely a great spot to dine near Barclays Center. Love to come back whenever I'm in the area again. The udon dishes are on the pricier side, but they're huge bowls.
