I ordered the Deluxe Bento Box for take out. You can choose the items that you want included in your box. I chose the below items. Goma-ae, BBQ Eel Teriyaki with Rice, Salmon Sashimi (3 pcs), Salmon Avocado Roll. I also added a Mango Milkshake. The portions were large and I actually couldn't finish the entire meal in one go. I would have liked more sauce for my Goma-ae, as it felt a bit diluted. They provided a good portion of eel, and both the sashimi and rolls were slightly larger than your average portion. The milkshake was tasty, but I wouldn't have minded if it had a touch more flavor. Other than that I was really satisfied with my meal. The price for the amount of food that you get is really worth it. read more

Kojima Sushi - Deluxe Bento Box - Sushi Bars Near Me - New Westminster, British Columbia

We ordered Party tray B from Kojima Sushi in New Westminster, using the Fantuan app. Our tray came with 57 pieces in it and consisted of the following: California roll, Avocado roll, Tuna roll, Smoked Salmon Dragon roll, Dynamite roll, Salmon roll, Spicy Tuna roll, Rainbow roll. The food was decent but not outstanding. We've definitely had better sushi elsewhere. However, for about $40 it was a pretty good deal. If you're looking for decent, reasonably priced sushi then Kojima Sushi is worth considering. The ambiance is super dark -- and it's not a good kind of dark -- they only turned on minimal lighting. First impression is that we were not welcome. Service was minimal and no smiles or pleasantness. The servers were wearing masks though. The food tasted great. I had the Box A: teriyaki chicken on rice, 6 pcs California roll, 4 pcs tempura and salad. The teriyaki chicken was flavourful, and the California rolls were soft and saucey. Unsure if I'd come here again...for the taste of the food, I might. But definitely NOT the service. read more

Weird experience...we passed by but had literally no customers even though there's a lot of tables. The do have a steady flow of takeouts but we were the only customer for dine-in. Two staff and they were polite but not attentive at all. They just kept chatting and after handing us the menu they never came, it's as if they were hiding from us. We had to stand up and go call them. After they quickly ordered and left. Not rude but not at all welcoming. Feels like they were indifferent about us coming in as dine-in customers. Even when we needed to pay bill we had to stand and call them again as we have been disregarded the whole time. Portion was decent but flavour were on the heavier side and not authentic at all. The sauce they use were probably cheap as they are very gooey. Tastes okay but not a place I'd ever go back to read more

A place that promotes an affordable menu right off the bat. If you're just interested in good deals, this is one place you can consider. It's not amazing, but it's not too bad either. Just standard Japanese fare. I got the tuna goma-ae the first time I came here and I loved it. Beautiful and delicious. The second time, I got the Box A bento which had a lot of variety for ~$10. I was on the fence with the beef teriyaki though, got a bit too chewy at some parts. Nothing really stood out, but it was very filling. The ladies here were nice. They seem to have a steady flow of business during these times too. read more

Came here for lunch, it wasn't busy at all. Ordered the Tonkatsu meal and it came relatively fast. It looked good but after my first bite, it was dry. Felt like it was precooked and then reheated. Maybe it was an off day? I would most likely not recommend this place. Maybe this is why it's not busy firing lunch time. At checkout, the guy was busy talking to his friend on his airpod and didn't bother to greet me. Not the best service either. read more

Kojima Sushi - Tonkatsu - Sushi Bars Near Me - New Westminster, British Columbia

Kojima has really good bento boxes and mix and match prices. The bento box I always get is $9.95 and comes with chicken or beef teriyaki, salad, a California roll, and assorted tempura. With the mix and match you can pick 2-3 items for around $9-$10. Whenever I go, the service is always fast. I never wait forever for my food and the servers are always on top of refilling my tea. They are also very popular on Door Dash as I always see drivers picking up huge orders from here. The quality of the food isn't that bad, but I'd give a solid 3.5 rating for the sushi and teriyaki. read more

Good sushi! Extremely rude staff. They make it clear they only want your money. Best to get takeout. The restaurant is pretty sketchy. The washroom is disgusting. read more

So the other night I was super lazy and decided to order in food. I was also craving sushi. You can order online with Kojima at JustEat and so I thought, "Why not give it another shot?" Great decision. The gyoza was lovely and though delivered came warm enough that the bite was still there. We also ordered a great combo which we agreed we'd do again (2 ebi, tuna, and salmon + a dynamite for 9.95) Love their mix and match plan and will definitely do that again. And then everything arrived like, 20 minutes earlier than expected by a smiley driver. Very happy, will definitely order in again! read more

I have ordered twice now from here... each time my order did not match what was advertised on the menu.... I was supposed to receive crispy fried salmon on my roll... I got raw... very opposite... my yam dynamite roll came with sweet potato.... I gave them a second chance... second impression as bad as the first.... I only want what I ordered and not what they think will do...same experience two times.... ever again... there is so much better sushi in New West. read more

My friend and I went there today and a couple of hours later we got upset stomach.

Honestly so disappointed. And I guess that's my own fault for actually believing "real fruit" as stated on the menu. I ordered two "real" mango slushes. They were pricey as is real fruit smoothies. But was supremely disappointed in the fact that it was the mango syrup or maybe it was the "real" mango that's doused in glucose syrups. Whatever the hell it was, ssssssucked! I should have eaten the 20$ bill instead. The worst part is that considering where we are in BC, you'd think people have bubble tea standards to tbh everyone is like OK with this fake ass mango sugar shit? It's everywhere! I can't believe that people consume it and allow it to be a thing. So GROSS! Also can we stop with the coconut milk powder? Ew If you go to Seattle, they'll be straight up with you is it fucking powder, fake or real fruit. Why does Vancouver area suck at bubble tea? Guess I'll get avocado next time. Kinda hard to get fake avocado. read more

the bad -salmon teriyaki is deep fried, would not recommend. never had deep fried salmon before and i hope i never have it again. -bubble tea wasn't what i ordered the good agedashi tofu is good tuna nigiri is good spicy tuna roll is good bbt is good even if it's not what i wanted poor first impression, amazed they keep the salmon teriyaki on the menu read more

FOOD: 3.5 / 5 SERVICE: 2 / 5 I have mixed feeling about this place and here is why... A friend and I decided that it was long over-due that we both had sushi so she decided to introduce me to this spot. Located just a few minutes (walk) from Royal City Centre in New Westminster it's fairly accessible by all modes of transportation. But if you really want to work up an appetite take the Skytrain to New Westminster station and walk up 6th street for about 15 minutes. And when I say "walk up 6th street", I'm not playing... that's a serious hill/mountainside. Upon entering this sushi restaurant through the dining side (there seems to be a little bar side to it too), you might be drawn to taking the booth by the window. Don't be fooled... it's not the best seat in the house. The table is awkwardly shaped and the seating at that booth by the window has no back support. As for the food... Between the two of use we ordered: - Deep Fried Gyozas - Dynamite Rolls - Tempura California Rolls - Spicy Salmon Sashimi - Dragon Rolls - Malibu Rolls Overall, the food was good. The first to arrive was the Spicy Salmon Sashimi which was quickly followed by the Dynamite Rolls then the Dragon Rolls, Deep Fried Gyoza & then the Malibu Roll. At this point, my guest stated, "they are saving the best for last" referring to the Tempura California Rolls. Now I've had California Rolls before however I've never had them Tempura style so she got me excited about trying them for the first time. Anyways... time passes as we're eat, chatting & laughing enjoying each bit & slowly sipping on our Heineken & Sapporo served in with glasses. Then my guest pipes up, "They forgot about the Tempura California Rolls!". At this time we're about 1/2 through the other dishes & we've concluded that it would be too late to "re-order" there Tempura California Rolls. We had a good mixture of dishes at our table and we didn't want to be left with just the Tempura Cali Rolls by the time the made it if we reminded them of the order so we decided we'd let it go. It was very disappointing through because I really wanted to try it for the first time and to her, it seemed to be one of her favourites. Now for the service... or should I say the lack of service. The only thing that came fast was the initial tea offering shortly after we were seated. To waited for what felt like forever (especially when hungry) to place our orders. The kitchen was quick to prep our food and bring it out (except for the tempura cali rolls as mentioned above). Then when we were finished, I actually had to get up out of my seat and go a search for our server so that we could get our bill. What made it worst was that if we didn't look at the bill and just paid it, we would have paid for the Tempura California Rolls that we did not receive. read more

not only is it the worst sushi in town, it may very well be the worst food and service in town. I have nothing positive to say. Don't go, but if you make the mistake my friend and I made..... don't use the washrooms. The mice turds around the toilet will make your stomach turn. Seriously, I feel so ripped off!!!! read more

They always give a generous amount of salmon teriyaki . The taste is good . Not our favourite for salmon teriyaki though but it's alright . This is our go to place whenever we feel like having a decent salmon teriyaki dish . It's close to royal city centre mall and has lots of paid street parking . They also have wifi . The servers are nice and caring . read more

Well this place is just unimpressive. The sushi rice is flavourless, as is the fish on top of it. The katsu don is just mush with dried rubbery pork on top. Service is friendly and very attentive. read more

Kojima Sushi - Tuna and salmon combo + miso soup - Sushi Bars Near Me - New Westminster, British Columbia

This used to be the location for King Sushi. Now taken over by Kojima (which also has a location on Commercial St. with decent reviews so decided to give it a try) Ordered a Bento Box C for lunch. It had Teriyaki Chicken with rice, Assorted Tempura, 2 Piece Tuna Sashimi, 2 piece Salmon Sashimi, 1 piece Hokkigai and Salad, all for $9.50. Order came out fast. Staff was friendly and efficient. Chicken and Tempura was hot and not soggy. Overall everything tasted good and portion was huge. The sashimi was cut extra thick and was quite fresh. They also have lots of combos and lunch specials all for under $10. With my budget these days, this is the best bang for the buck Sushi in the New West area, without tasting too Western. I will definitely come back and try their Sushi Specials. read more

** This review is for the food only, not the service. Details below** I'm kind of surprised at the star rating for this place overall, but that could be due to how I've ordered from them in the past, let me explain: For the last year I have ordered through SkipTheDishes, a service that let's me get delivery to my house. I wouldn't necessarily recommend the service, there are a lot of problems with it... but I digress... I have ordered no less than 27 times in the last 12 months. Yes, you read that correctly. No, I'm not embarrassed, and no, I'm not going to try and do any math to figure out how much money my household spend on sushi last year. That would just make me sad and less enthusiastic about this review. Again town the digressing Lecayle... sheesh. Anyway, I may be having a great experience with this place because I've never had to interact with anyone that works there. As the disclaimer above states, my review will be just about the food, not the servers or the restaurant interior/exterior/cleanliness. I mean I'd love to assume that they'd pass an audit in any country, but I won't tell you that's fact because I honestly don't know. The food speaks for itself. I grew up in Richmond eating some of the best sushi you could get back then, and I like to think that I know "good sushi" from "mall kiosk sushi". The number of orders I've placed (27 if you didn't catch that earlier) lead me to believe that a) this is my favourite sushi place and b) I'm really lazy and should cook more. This place is just too good and too affordable. My orders have consisted of tempura, sashimi of various kinds, spicy tuna rolls, yakisoba, and unagi to name a few hot-ticket items. Everything has always arrived fresh, perfectly cooked (if applicable) and hot. They even cut the corners off of the styrofoam containers so the tempura doesn't get soggy. Most sushi places do this, but not all do. This is my go-to place and I expect it will be as long as I live in New Westminster. I love this place. 4/5 because I've never had a dine-in experience here. read more

I've only ordered from here, so I can't speak for their in-house service. But in terms of delivery, the food is usually pretty good. The pumpkin croquettes are delicious, and they have one of my favourite agodashi tofus here. I also like how they have very simple, cheap rolls (ie inari and avocado). Also the quality is (mostly) fresh. The only complaint I have is that one time when the prawn in my dynamite roll had a bit of a fishy taste/essence, likely not fresh. But everything else has always been good for me. Also their bubble tea game is strong. read more

Order thru door dash 1 hours before they close and waited only for them to cancel my order and doesn't even pick up the phone to see the start ... This is unbelievable and so unprofessional. read more

Lovely place. 7.95 three roll menu is their poster child. Great for the price. Recommend. Now they have bubble tea and deserts.

Really enjoyed tonight's take out! Got the Rainforest Roll (no rice, wrapped in cucumber instead) - Great texture and flavour! Also the Hot Girl roll - yum! And tuna & salmon sashimi, sunomono (nice, milder flavour), and BBQ salmon cheeks (which arrived as an unexpected whole salmon head - picked it apart and devoured every delicious bite!). I just might have a new go to sushi place. read more

When Royal Oak Sushi in Burnaby closed because of the tragic murder of its owner and waitress a couple of years ago, I struggled to find a restaurant that offered large portions at reasonable prices with great service like they did...until now. Stooped in for a quick bite today. Quick service. Nice menu with lots of different combos for lunch. Had the bento box with beef and Cali roll. Tempura was a bit greasy, beef was good and the roll was excellent. For the price it was great and I would go back again. read more

This is by far my favourite sushi place in New West. It quick, good and cheap. It's never too busy. I call ahead on my way home from work and in the 10 minutes it takes me to get there, it's ready to go. The service is friendly. read more

In all honesty, I've never actually set foot in this restaurant since I usually order from here online through Just Eat. The sushi is decent, and it's considered cheap for what it is but I've had better and you can tell by their sushi rice. I usually order a yam roll, negitoro maki roll, a chopped scallop cone, spicy tuna roll and occasionally their oyako don. Otherwise it's a great place if you're just craving Japanese food and don't want to spend a lot. read more

This one was a difficult review. I went for lunch the other day and had a bento box with nigiri, chicken teriyaki and sides. The food was good, service ok but... The new owners renovated after king sushi left and it seems more functional from an owners point of view but it felt like you we're in a room with a bare bulb hanging from the ceiling. No atmosphere. The competition is fierce for sushi. There are better choices nearby. read more

Portions were large and the sushi was good. For the price, it was excellent value. The tea could be a bit hotter and the gyoza was not our favourite, but again, small complaints. We will definitely go again read more

Came here for lunch at 11:45 and although the restaurant was open at 11:30 the door was locked. I waited outside staring in for a good 5 minutes in the pouring rain with a 3 year old until the oh so courteous employee allowed me to come into the open but locked restaurant. The second I walk in I'm barked at, 'WE JUST OPENED. EVERYTHING WILL TAKE 15-20 MINUTES.' After this rude greeting I was less than excited for the service I was about to receive. One napkin on the table and one pair of chopsticks for two people, slow service etc. etc. Will not be returning, the food was ok I guess but that slipped my mind after the awful taste the service left in my mouth. read more

We've been there 4 times since we moved to the neighbourhood on December. The first 3 times were good. The last one (2 weeks ago) was so bad that we aren't going back again. We ordered some sushi and other dishes. The sushi took less than 5 minutes to arrive (spicy combo, about 20 pieces of sushi), which means that they made it before we ordered. And it had a weird taste. We even left 5 pieces because of its taste. Just because of that we aren't coming back again. You can't play with something as delicate as raw fish. read more

We come here for the mix and match menu. It's a great value. The service is good too, never have to wait long for tea refills.

This place is horrible.. The service sucked.. The Food took forever to come.. Waitress barely speaks English. She took forever to take our order.... Never came back to clear anything off table. Food that was ordered wasn't Recieved. Very unhappy... Will never come back. read more

Since moving to BC I found a perfect sushi restaurant local to me. I have allergies and they always accommodate. When I ask for the wasabi to be placed in a its own separate container, they do so. When I ask for extra ginger, they actually give me extra. Their ginger is the real pale yellow variety, not the dyed ginger with cancer causing aspartame in it. They also have a fantastic feature that really makes them stand out for me, the option to upgrade to wild salmon for 50 cents. I love that. Always fresh and delicious and they are meticulous with my order each time. Love this place and will continue to order from them. read more

Food and service was terrible. The sushi was very disappointing, as it was very dry and bland. The waiters never once came back to refill tea/water, ask how our food was or check up on us to get the bill and Togo boxes.
