The staff are genuinely friendly and attentive, and I've never felt pressured to hurry through a meal or give up the table. I took my parents there yesterday and they both ordered the chicken bento box. I was actually surprised by how much food they received. With restaurant prices being what they are these days, I thought it was very reasonably priced for the amount of food they were served, and they both really enjoyed their meals. I ordered a few different rolls, and every one of them was fresh and delicious. Another thing I appreciate about Sushi On is how clean and well cared for the restaurant is. We arrived just before opening and had to wait until the exact opening time before they let us in. Through the window, though, I could see the staff still busy cleaning and getting everything ready. I didn't mind waiting at all--in fact, I appreciated seeing that they weren't going to open the doors until everything was just right. Fresh food, generous portions, reasonable prices and genuinely friendly service. There's a reason Sushi On remains one of my favourites.

The rice in the chirashi don was delicious, it's sprinkled with a layer of furikake which makes it so easy to eat. The fish slices were a bit thin, but since you get 5 or 6 different kinds plus some fish roe, I can't complain. The presentation of the whole chirashi don was adorable, complete with a tiny edible (?) flower on top! The interior is super comfortable and feels spacious, even though seating is a bit limited. They were doing great business for lunch, literally packed the entire time! This was my first visit, but I definitely wouldn't mind stopping by again if I'm in the area to try their other dishes. B got the spicy salamon roll, spicy salmon crunch roll and the unagi roll. He said the spicy salmon crunch roll was spectacular delicious. We both enjoyed our food. Service was great. The restaurant was ok. We went during Sunday lunch time and it wasn't that busy at all. The decor of the place was ok as well. It is nothing fancy looking. Just a typical sushi restaurant that may need some renovations in the near future. There are plenty of street parking in the hood.

We got a total of 3 boxes. Beef teriyaki, chicken teriyaki, and salmon sashimi donburi. All three of them were great. They had a variety of sides some differing from box to box. This made it harder to choose what we wanted, but ordering all 3 allowed us to try a little from each box. There wasn't an item that was not good. Loved the variety, freshness, and flavours. The most difficult part of coming to this restaurant is parking. However, that won't discourage us from coming again.

I remembered 12 years ago, Green Leaf Sushi charges $60 for the same aburi platter. Looks like they had to reduce their prices. For such a good deal on a platter, I thought they are going to be super busy. To my surprise B and I showed up for dinner and they were pretty empty. The aburi sushi were delicious. My favorite was the Yukke Tuna. I liked the salmon aburi too. My least favorite was the ebi aburi and that was because it had black olives. I personally hate black olives. I can't stand the taste. B said he liked the ebi aburi. The ambiance and decor of the place was good. The aburi platter was the best deal I have seen so far. We will definitely be back.
