Amazon Returns only. This place feels like some strange bastard child of Mervyn's (remember Mervyn's?) and Walmart. Maybe a touch of Tuesday Morning (remember Tuesday Morning?). Kohl's is an odd place that feels and smells like a retirement home that was decorated by Margaret Thatcher covering the clothing and some 12 year old girl choosing color patterns. I have never bought anything at a Kohl's because as soon as I walk in, I need to get out. I've come to this location three or four times for the Amazon returns. They give you a discount coupon with each return that you can use at Kohl's. I always leave this in the baskets at the front for someone else to use because I will never redeem them. This Koh's location is well stocked and well kept. Theres the Mens, Womens, Children department as well as shoes and bath section. I like shopping here because you can find something for everyone in your family. If you sign up with your email you can receive additional coupons 15, 20, or 30% off your purchase, which comes in handy during the holidays when you are working as Santa's Elves and buying gifts for children. I tend to shop for Women's and Kids more. They have brands such as Vera Wang, Jennifer Lopez, Juicy Coutoure, and Rock and Republic, and Levi brands. All stylish and afforadable. Plents of kids clothes to choose from and there's a whole section filled with toys for all ages. I also come here to get matching bathroom rug sets and shower curtains. Lots to shop and buy. Best part of this store is that there's also a free Amazon pick up and return section. Very convenient and many staff members to help out. Updated 3/23/12: I went to this Kohls last night, hoping to find a pair of jeans. Everything was such a cluster, after about 10 minutes I found a few pairs to try on - and headed to the dressing room. We are in Southern California, yet these stores run the heat. Its NOT cold here. I tried on one pair, and was so hot from the heat blasting, I left everything in the dressing room and left the store. Its getting harder and harder for me to shop at Kohls, its so frustrating. The bad customer service is in EVERY location as well - Huntington Beach, Rancho Santa Margarita, here... I guess its a requirement to work there - and I can definitely tell the employees take after the managers. Previous: Im not a big fan of this Kohls - the employees are usually far too occupied talking to each other than they are helping any customers.... so worried about which team is doing better on whatever contest is going on (new credit card customer related it seemed like). I asked someone in jewelry if she could help me get a dress down off the wall. She asked a woman at the cash register who had no customers and she said yes. Then a customer walked up, and she helped her instead. I stood for over five minutes waiting, walked over and grabbed the hook to get it off the wall myself, and let myself into a dressing room. I don't shop much at Kohl's then again, I don't shop much at all if I don't have too. I truly don't care to shop for clothes but.... Capital One sent me $20 for free just because I was a cardholder. So I figured this would be as good of a time as any to find something that I actually did need; a plain white dress shirt (glamorous, I know). But that's what I needed so here we go. Located in a standard Irvine Company style shopping area. Plenty of parking. This particular Kohl's seems big or it could be just how they all are, I wouldn't know but they had two entrances and exits. Walked in and it was nicely lit, took a short lap and realized the store is pretty clean. You won't find what you typically would if you went to Marshall's or Ross. So I give them props for that. Made my way over to the men's section and saw they had a good amount of options for dress shirts. Brands like Van Heusen, Apt 9, Arrow, Croft & Barrow and etc.. Many colors (bright/dull), short sleeve and long. That's just the shirts. Suits. Suit separates and all the like. I think you get the idea. A department store with a few more sales (I think). Found my shirt, checked out some shoes and was greeted by some of the staff that was floating around putting items away. Pretty much they have it all. Clothes. Bath. Kitchen. Home and more. Got to the front and found Marc Anthony's line and picked up a couple super soft v-necks on sale for $9.99 and then I was off to the register. The young lady who rang me up was nice and chatty (I like those types) and I asked about the return policy in case the shirts did something funky after I washed them and she advised that I have a full year to do so. That's cool, you can't beat that unless you have a longer time frame which I think a few do have... anyway. So I am a frequent shopper at Kohl's. I enjoy shopping at Kohl's both online and in-store. I like this location because it's convenient and the only location here in Irvine. I hate to leave a negative review for a specific person but this seems to be an ongoing issue. There is an older lady working at customer service doing refunds who has a sour attitude every time I've gone for the last year or so. She grunts and seems irritated when she has to process a refund or assist you. This isn't the first time I've had to deal with her attitude. I'm only writing this review because I've dealt with it at least 4-5 times already and it's bad every time. It feels like I'm bothering her and it irritates me to have to deal with her sour attitude whenever I go. Other than this employee, I'm happy to say I love everything else about this Kohl's location. This is mainly for the ease and convenience of being able to return Amazon purchases at this store. The return area is towards the back of the store and the process is quite easy - the clerk will scan the QR code from the Amazon refund email and within a short time the refund appears in your Amazon account. Very fast and efficient! The clerk will also hand over a 25% coupon that can be used at the store (expires within a week). He kept asking me why I had so many returns to Amazon and how many I had. When I told him I didn't count he scoffed at me and said I hope it's not too many more. I thanked him for his time when he was done and he said "say thank you to the people behind you". I turned around and said thank you to the line of people and he says "no she's not. I gave 5 stars for the young male manager who assisted me after I wasted 15 min with a young lady who was in charge of returns. She didn't even apologize for being irresponsible and cocky! Five stars for the Amazon returns and most employees there. She didn't know how to do simple math and it got me so upset. I never raised my voice with sales people until today when I had to deal with such individual on my day off returning items I just bought 2 days ago that my son didn't want to keep. It took 1 minute for the manager to figure out that the cashier made a mistake a few days ago and the guest service didn't know how to do simple math. I've always been nice to service/sales people. I was a server and cashier before I got my manager position at a big/well known retail store and I was good at what i did. If you look at my account of 10 years plus!!! This is my favorite and only location of Kohls I will go to LOL. Even the one by my house I'm not a fan and wouldn't go back again LOL. I truly miss living in Irvine and the wonderful things that came with living there. Including this Kohls! It's super close to my sisters house and is never crowded. I've been during all times of days including the weekends and it never feels packed or crowded when you go to check out. Now the returns/customer service department is a different story. Since they partnered with Amazon and you can send back your returns the lines can get long but they have two separate lines for the Amazon returns and store returns. The staff is nice and the store is always maintained and well kept. It doesn't like people have had their way with the store unlike other stores (cough cough LOL) During the weekend there is better sales and you can earn Kohls cash but I wish they would extend the time period of how long you can redeem it. For example, I had a Kohls cash I earned on a Sunday but I had to redeem by the following Sunday. Overall I really enjoy this location and would rather wait to shop here than the ones by my house LOL. ^___^ read more

This store prides themselves of taking precaution during COVID but many times the cashiers at registers and at Amazon FAILED to sanitize after every costumers. Same costumers I see that don't wash their hands or use hand sanitizers after using the restroom I might add. And then come to Find out that many associates tested positive from covid at this location and not only did this location not shut down, but many of the associates still worked despite being exposed! Exposing me and many other costumers. So careless of this store to be open when cases at this location were so high! Definitely not a safe store to shop at. They obviously don't care about the well being of their employees let alone their costumers. I know not a lot of people care about the pandemic but it's at least nice to know you're shopping in an extra clean store where management cares about those working to serve us and the well being of the costumers. My buddy in Irvine told me you can pick up some relatively inexpensive USC gear here. I stopped by on the way to the airport and *boom*.....there's a whole section dedicated to SC! Awesome! The prices are very good too. The day I visited the store, they had a 50% Off Sale on various items. I stocked up on T-Shirts ($10 on Sale) and Hoodies ($15 on Sale). Kohl's is a Jekyll and Hyde of department store shopping. I love and hate it at the same time. I hate their sloppy shelves and lack of customer service, but I love their big discounts and lots of brands. Wish I could have it all, but I can't. You can always count on this store being well lit, clean, and packed to the gills with stuff. It's awesome they often have big sales, like 25-50 per cent off regularly. And IF you easily find what you want in your size, it's a 5-star experience, right? Well, that didn't happen. Tonight,I needed two pairs of business casual pants. Shopping starts out rough. Many of the size tags on hangers did not match the garment. For several pants that I like, they didn't have my size. There were no sales clerks anywhere except cashiers. Actually it's always like that when I'm here. Their check out line at times has been long, but tonight it was short. While sliding my debit card, I had to again say NO to an aggressive Kohl's credit card pitch. It' was little creepy trying on clothes. No sales clerk is watching, and you could probably have a karaoke party in the dressing rooms and no employee would notice. There were others trying on pants, but next to me, his ugly female companion was just outside his stall peeking in, then using a wall mirror to put on makeup. I try on two pairs of pants in a couple of minutes - and they fit almost perfectly. These two pairs of Haggar "Cool 18" slacks, are $45 each, but Kohl's sells the second pair at 50% off. These you can wash, and then dry in low heat. They come out like they were pressed at a dry cleaners. Awesome. Lots of deals everywhere, from household appliances, to luggage, to shoes, to jewelry, housewares, and women and kids. They seem to always have clearance racks. I rarely ever go through them. But tonight, at the very end of the rack facing me was a "Batik Bay" bar fly,Charlie Sheen type of polyester rayon shirt - in my size. It was $17, knocked down from $50 retail. I took that along with my slacks, and it was time to get the heck out of there. Taking their cues from Albertson's, they point out that I saved $45 off retail. SO, pray nothing goes wrong because if it does you will be sent to a call center in El Salvador - it means The Saviour in Spanish but in reality its customer service hell. I have no issue with an American company outsourcing their customer service call to another country as long as the people at the call center know what they are doing oh... and just another small thing - it'd be nice if they could speak the language of the people they are helping. In over 5 phone calls to the El Salvador center - I have succeeded in nothing but truly hating Kohl's, a store I really used to like. I called to return a Christmas tree I ordered - the Christmas tree, advertised as having clear lights was delivered with multicoloured lights. 11 times during my 43 minute conversation with AGENT 1, I tried to explain YES... the christmas tree has colour - (it's green) but I wanted clear LIGHTS and instead I got multicoloured. "But sir, it does have colour - green. you ordered a green tree," continued the poor agent in very quick staccato'd English that was nearly impossible to understand (mind, you, I speak Spanish). Finally, after over 42 minutes, he told me I could simply go to the nearest store where I could return it and then THEY would order me a new one. I couldn't hang up fast enough. I called the local store (Secaucus) where the manager informed me... err.. NO... they can not call kohls.com to place an order. Back to El Salvador... rep #2 - I couldn't understand a word so I asked "Can I speak to your manager" ... (*click*) he hung up. Called back.. rep #3. She reordered the Christmas tree for us with all the appropriate discounts ... apologising profusely - I was happy, even didn't mind being placed on hold for 23 (COUNT EM 23) minutes... as long as I got my tree. 5 days later, I got my tree... SAME TREE as before - multicoloured lights. Now I have two christmas trees pending UPS pick up in front of my house. Call #4 over 34 minutes to tell me she couldn't place the order - something was wrong with the account. (Could it be over 1,000 in christmas trees sitting there waiting to be refunded?) Rep #5 just told me to return the trees to the store ... Dear Kohls.com this was one of the worst customer experiences of my life ... not only did I place an order for a tree at Balsam Hill - but I'm going to be Christmas shopping online at MACYS. I'm cheap when it comes to clothing, I'll be the first to admit it, and you'll be the first to confirm it when you see my wardrobe. That being said, I like Kohls, it has a lot of what I need to pretty good prices. I'm going to DC in a week, so I need shorts, because there is no way I'm waltzing around 90degree+100% humidity in pants. So, they had a sale, I needed shorts, and got 3 pairs for just over $60. Not too shabby. They have your typical selection of men's and women's clothing (everything from tank tops to suits & dresses), jewelery, shoes, house ware, kitchen stuff, etc. Its a lot closer to me than Mervyns, and a lot cleaner too. read more

Usually I don't like to write bad reviews for stores that I love but I find it necessary when I see bad customer service. I was waiting in line and there was an older lady in front of me. She saw the lady is the first isle leave and started walking up. The cashier was still disinfecting the area and rudely shouted "you need to wait" but attitude and with a disrespectful demeanor. I just don't like seeing bad customer service and think Khols managers need to train their employees better and treat people with more respect. Love going to this location because it's one story vs the one in Tustin which is two stories. Also parking is plentiful and staff overall is nice. The store is clean and everything is easy to find. My 3 complaints: Their clothing racks and displays are usually messy and unorganized. They don't seem to restock or get new things in often. I've been to this location twice to do Amazon returns. Both times I was met with rather rude employees. Last night, it was a Kip from Napoleon Dynamite look alike that appeared to hate life. He creeped me out because he just stared at me like I was doing something illegal. Anyhow, either he couldn't read or he just wanted someone else to do the work for him (which wouldn't surprise me these days since a lot of the population doesn't like to work). He would scan the QR codes and make the customers read what was on his screen. There was no "hello" or anything either. Anyhow, this little angry man isn't suited to work in customer service. If I must return to a kohls (which I will try to avoid), I definitely will not go to this location. This Kohl's was absolutely delightful. I ordered something for pick-up online and the moment I walked in was grateful for the stores organization and customer support. Before picking up my item, I visited the Sephora to see if they had a couple of fragrances that I had been meaning to purchase. When I walked into the Sephora I was immediately warmly greeted, and guided to the items. I first noticed the store managers demeanor, even before she noticed me. She seemed really in tune with what was happening at the location and was very approachable. When I walked over to the two perfumes, a team member provided me with some information about the fregrances and was really polite. She took time to search for the items ( so that I could purchase them at the front of the store) and ultimately had to go to the back to get the sizes I needed. While there, she brought a number of options for me to consider which I really appreciated). She wasn't pushy or anything, just thoughtful. I am glad I visited the store, and plan to go there again really soon. read more

Maybe it's the way the store is laid out, or maybe it's because although it's a department store, it doesn't have a good selection of stuff for me to choose from. On my visit, I was specifically looking for an item I saw in the Sunday ad. After looking around on my own, I decided to ask a salesperson (who by the way was pretty helpful). The only problem was, we were not able to locate the specific item I saw in the ad and naturally, they didn't have the current ad available to look through. Ok, I added my Kohl's card to my phone so that I could pay with my phone. In order to do so, they ask me for the last 4 of my social, fine, and they texted a code to my phone in order to verify it was really me. Fine. What is NOT fine, is that I spend TWO HOURS trying on clothes (because I recently had a baby and NOTHING fits anymore) JUST to get to the front and have them ask me for an ID. Okay? Here. I give it to her and she asks to see my CARD. I don't HAVE my card because it's on my phone!!! But you are more than welcome to see my phone!!!! She looks at it and says, "It doesn't say your name on here." Okay? I don't get it. So what is the POINT in doing ALLLLL that security verification to get my card on my phone in the first place, just to be hassled in the store YET AGAIN for even MORE verification?! I understand safety and security, but choose, it's either you make your customers go through the verification process to add their card to their phone OR you hassle them IN STORE for proof of identity. However, I've had my information stolen MULTIPLE times by workers before and NEVER trust showing anything to anyone in store. Unfortunately, I've lost trust doing it this way. Which is why I added my Kohl's Charge Card to my phone in the first place! If you are saying that you DO accept Apple Pay, then I get to the store and they refuse to accept Apple Pay, this is false advertisement... which is ILLEGAL. Thankfully, my father-in-law is a specialty lawyer in this very field to prevent big name companies from taking advantage of their customers. The lady working at the return's department was just plain rude and irritated to have to put some effort into providing some customer service. Apparently if you buy an online item that has a sticker on the plastic bag, but not on the clothing, that's the only way you can return the item. That would make sense if ALL items only had stickers or tags on the bag and not on the actual article of clothing. I returned a few items, and one didn't have a tag on the shirt (which I didn't notice since I tried it on once), but I had the order number, SKU #, confirmation email and even an identical shirt that was still in the bag with the sticker on it. She was able to look up the item and print out a tag for it anyway after making a fuss that I should've kept the bag cuz it had the sticker (while pointing to the sticker on the other bag I returned). No crap, I know what sticker you're talking about. I told her I found it unusual for clothes to come in the mail without some sort of tag attached to it, and most people probably throw away the bag. Instead of being somewhat understanding about it, she says "Not everyone!" and continues to shake the shirt and said "No tag". I don't think I've ordered any article of clothing online from other retailers that didn't have a tag on the clothes, yet you fault the customer for negligence? Or was it so painful for you to spare 5 minutes of your time to do your job? I only gave it an additional star because of the Amazon return center. read more

Made a purchase in early December and they gave us a coupon for $30 Kohl's cash and 15% off if we made another purchase between December 26 to January 1. Just went shopping, December 27, and they said we used the $30 Kohl's cash online on Christmas. News flash we have never been to Kohl's or the website since our purchase in early December. Customer is always right, or most the time and definitely in this case, so they should have honored it! Instead they made us feel like we were cheating them trying to redeem the coupon twice. The main reason for losing one star is because they run out of stock a lot. They have a great selection but popular sizes go quick! I absolutely LOVE that they implemented Amazon drop off returns! My husband and I use amazon for almost everything so the fact that we can bring out returns here, receive a 25% off coupon to Kohl's, and then go shopping for some new sweats or shoes is INCREDIBLE! There was a time when I did all my clothes shopping online. I still do a vast majority of my clothes shopping online, but sometimes you gotta get the deals that are around you. Kohls is pretty convenient having locations all over and I can use my kohls cash online and use discount codes in combination online, but in store is where you find the deep deals, the hidden items, the gems. I wear fairly common sizes. 11 shoes, 34X31 pants, M tops, 40R suit, 16X34-35 dress shirts and I knew my sizes. This has bells, but no whistles. Nothing spectacular here except that of all the Kohls I've been to I've found more gems in my sizes here than elsewhere. I think the populations nearby probably wear other sizes more. I actually found the service mediocre, cleanliness was ok, dressing rooms were a wreck, but I usually go late in the evening after work. I came in dragging a huge box, and Jai came over immediately and offered assistance without me even asking. While the store can be over-run with inconsiderate shoppers - there are deals to be found. With that said - you need to be STRATEGIC and USE COUPONS. Kohls will honor multiple coupons. Heck, you can go back in with your receipt & show them your coupon and they'll discount the difference (at least if you made the purchase with your Kohls credit card). Their clothes aren't always the best quality - but they'll get you through a season. It can be challenging trying to find petite sizes. I appreciate their commitment to diversity - from signage in both English and Spanish, to having a wheelchair accessible store and even displays with people in wheelchairs. What is it about Kohl's? In general, I'd rather walk in to Macy's or a JC Penney's rather than Kohl's. PROS: - Their prices on items are pretty good compared to other places - Parking is GOOD. - They have a lot of SALE items, CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP CONS: - There's no one in the store! Even when it SHOULD be busy - Service was OK; the cashiers seemed so bored they were trying to FIND things to do Final note: I may come back to price check some items and if it's cheaper, I'll definitely buy. I love stopping by Kohl's for a short shopping trip every now and then. Whenever I go, I usually just go in looking for nothing in particular, and kind of just stroll through, hoping I'll find some good stuff. The clothing in the Junior and Misses sections are really cute! They have a lot of lines from a lot of different celebrities, including Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, Lauren Conrad, etc... They also alwayssss have a clearance section, which is good because it's wayyy cheaper than paying retail, but it's also very disorganized and hard to look through unless you go through every piece of clothing on the rack - the styles and sizes are all jumbled up. The home decor department also has some really cute things that I wish I could buy, but some of the items are a bit pricey for my budget. I just recently stopped by the shoe department looking for some boots, and it didn't go very well. They have the different types of shoes on display on the top shelf, with all the different sizes stocked up right underneath. I found some really cute boots on display, but when I went to go look for my size, it was reallyyy difficult to find. The shoes aren't organized very well at all! The wait at the cashier's isn't too bad though. They usually have 2 registers open whenever I go, and the wait isn't too long. I wish they had more staff members working though! This Kohl's is a-OK, however, I don't enjoy being asked several times to join the Kohl's rewards program and/or sign up for a Kohl's credit card. No, I'm not interested! I'm an adult: If I wanted to sign up, I would have done it already. One time, as I was browsing through clothes, a woman materialized from among the racks to give me her spiel about the Kohl's card. I was like, "Where the heck did you come from? And no, I don't want one." They're so pushy. read more
