Went to Kohl's in Fresh Meadows bought a toaster oven it happened to be on sale 15 percent off regular price. When I went to pay sign says if you pay with your kohl's card you get additional 15 20 or 30 percent off, Never had a problem in the past at Kohl's. I did not get a coupon in the mail so I asked for one they told me since it was on sale they could not give me an additional 15 20 or 30 off. Everything is on sale they refused to honor their sign. WOW!!!! This could easily have been an amazing experience for me, even if I didnt get what I wanted. I reserved a gaming console online and rushed to get to Kohls before they closed. I got there witv ten minutes to spare and they reserved it. So far so good! Unfortunately, in my haste to leave I left my wallet on my desk. I stressed, got a friend to grab it but this is where my own fault became an unnecessary rudeness. Shivani, who is dressed like a manager, and was bossing people around ..so acting like one too, allowed the end of a long day to get the best of her. I relayed thst my friend was coming with my wallet and would be here in 10 minutes exactly! It was 9.52. Her response was we close in 8 minutes. We close in 8 minutes. Unbelievable. Not even an 'Oh I am so sorry. I hope you didnt lose your wallet.' Nothing like that! We close in 8 minutes. I told her to her face she was being rude. That it wasnt what she was saying but how she was saying it that was my concern. Her response, 8 minutes. 5 star turned two. Kohl's is one of those places that I forget about. I mean they have EVERYTHING here, but I rarely come in. This is probably the only Kohl's I've ever been to but they have quite a good selection of clothes, toys, kitchen products etc. Much better than Macy's IMO. Simply because its not as busy and not that much to navigate. You can get all your essentials and the best is if you have a coupon even more savings. Also if you spend a certain amount of money you get cash back to use on your next visit. What's not to love? I'm giving this place 3 stars simply because the staff seemed like they were lacking. God what a joke. I've been to this Kohl's too mine times to count and I'm disappointed each time. I find the prices not as reasonable as they lead consumers to believe, considering the quality of the products is meh. Clothing selection meh, electronics meh, home goods meh. Kohl's is literally where aging dying brands go to die. Not only this it is IMPOSSIBLE to find any employees to ask for assistance. I was in a rush to find some affordable quality headphones, one pair I wanted was locked away. Ok fine. I look everywhere for someone with a key. Two employees in different departments hallmarks and bras (which are RIGHT NEXT TO ELECTRONICS) were completely clueless as to who manages electronics and where I can find a key. And instead of calling for someone to help me they pretty much were like "that's too bad". They pointed me to a broken "help" kiosk and saw it didn't work and instead of looking for someone they walked away. How rude can you possibly be? All the employees look dead or dying. Yeah I get it you work at Kohl's aka retail graveyard but my god does this place never get secret shoppers? Clearly they have no department that properly trains employees. And this is coming from someone who has 5+ years of retail experience. They don't even try to hide the misery. What poor management and what poor coordination. The departments are so isolated from one another that literally have no clue how the store functions, I doubt they even know who works there. The hallmark lady couldn't even tell me which people were employees and which were customers, neither could the bra lady. SAD. When will they replace this shit store. Give us a JC Pennys, or Macy's, or even Marshall's! read more

I love Kohl's and on this trip I had a 30% off coupon. I got 3 dresses, a polo shirt for my husband, a pair of shoes and five panties. All for $67. Yay! I didn't get any jewelry this time, but they usually have great selections for good prices. 2 complaints on my visit on 9/13/14: 1. Shoe department: The shoes are clipped together by zip ties, too close together to even walk while holding the other shoe in my hand. To add insult to injury, an employee told me I had to go upstairs to the register to get someone to unhook them so I could walk in them. I really needed shoes that day, otherwise I would have thrown them into the aisle and left in disgust. NOT a good way to sell shoes. I know there are shoplifters but this is over the top. They could also extend the length of the zip ties so people can walk in at least one shoe. 2. The cashier. Loudly chewing gum and yawning, complaining about how tired she was, slowing things down further by commenting on the dresses I was buying, then practically ripping the lace on the panties when she went to remove the little hanger. I was like "be careful!" and she couldn't seem to figure it out ... so she ended up snapping the hanger, leaving a little plastic piece stuck in the lace, and then handed it to me to take out. "You should do it," she said. It would have been easier before she snapped the hanger! I finally managed to get the piece out but had to examine the lace to make sure there wasn't damage, mentally prepping myself for the conversation about giving me the 5-for-21 price even though I now only had 4 panties. It was OK, however. Lastly she forgot one of the security tags and I set the alarm off. Had to go back and have her take it off. So, nice bargains but one unprofessional cashier. Usually the cashiers are pretty good there so I can't complain too much. One other comment: be prepared if you come here on a Saturday. You'll probably have to park far away, and people can be nuts in this parking lot. If you have no luck there is a lot across 188th Street behind the stores over there. The lines at the registers are often long, but they have a "traffic director" and they move fast. read more

2 stars only because I shop and know the store well, otherwise 1 star. Cashiers here are just there. Work more like robots. If you forgot a coupon, they wont ask. When you get you receipt, they dont tell you what you saved, and this is when there are not even busy, No needed to rush for another customer, when there aren't any. Maybe I can get a job here. I called my local Fresh Meadows store to check if they carried adult size Dr. Seuss tee-shirts. The first time the gentleman I was talking to hung up on me. The second time a woman with an extremely difficult accent to decipher said they did not carry the tee-shirts. When I asked her to transfer me to another department she said she did not know how to do that and I should call back to get that department. When i come here to shop, they never cease to impress me. The floor is always clean, and everywhere you look, you see an employee. They constantly have sales and clearance. When i look through the racks its very neat and tidy. I usually find what im looking for and then do some extra shopping lol the fitting rooms are spacious and always clean. The restrooms are usually clean and kept in order. The lines can get a bit crazy but it moves fast so that makes up for it. I can spend hours shopping in here because they have everything you're looking for. You can create an entire outfit complete with handbag and jewelry for less than $100. I love it! The store has three floors. First floor is shoes, home, electronics, and kitchen, second floor is womens clothes, jewelry? Handbags, and the third floor is mens and childrens. You can basically do all your gift shopping here and still save a ton of money! I recommend coming during the weekdays as it isnt too crowded :) read more

Went to Kohls today for their Late Night/Early Bird special on Gloria Vanderbilt women's shorts. The flyer said, "ALL Gloria Vanderbilt Women's Shorts Originally $44.00 now $19.00. All women's PLUS sizes were marked $46.00 and not one of a single style was marked down. Too cute by half. If you exclude plus sizes or petites or whatever, it shouldn't read ALL but ALL Regular Sizes. I waited all day for this sale and walked out empty handed after checking with several clerks and a manager who also looked fruitlessly for twenty minutes or more for this item. I won't be back. When there isn't a single item in any style, color or size, ten minutes into a sale, you know there is a problem. It's Amazon for me, baby. read more

I wasted two hours in here. There was one person working the return desk right after the holidays. Huge line. Every time I made it to the front of the line I was told something different by the customer service reps. I did what they told me to do each time and, in the end, I wasn't even able to walk out of the store having made my return. I get that post-holidays is a busy time and there are people trying to hustle the exchange system, but this was ridiculous service. read more

First time here and I came around 12 on Black Friday, so I can't really comment on anything but the service. Despite it being one of the worst shopping days ever, our cashier was friendly. I think this store has 4 floors? I was trying to look for the electronics but I think I missed that floor. Mens and Womens clothing are on separate levels which was kind of annoying. it's literally my 2nd time at a Kohl's..not much of a fan & i don't usually come here because it's kind of blahhhhhhh and ****yawn****. but i needed a few disposable t-shirts so i decided to stop by and i got a buy 1 get one free type deal...so for about 12bucks a piece...i think i did pretty well. i even found a pair of seven jeans (i'm not into labels but 7 usually fit perfectly) for a decent price but it had paint stains all over it and i decided it was a bit much..ha ha...it looked like specks of whiteout had mistakenly gotten splattered all over the legs...i also noticed they have hello kitty night shirts in the basement area...which is cool. this place is a hit or a miss...but if you have the gumption to come and check...you could end up with something trelling. To be fair, I went in, exhausted from trying to find a spot in the obscenely overcrowded lot, took one look at the line and left. There were -- this is NOT an exaggeration -- no less than 30 or 40 people on line to pay. The line wasn't moving, either. When I need to get something at Kohl's now, I would rather go to Levittown than Fresh Meadows. I have been going to this location for a long time and have had some great experiences. I was on line Thursday afternoon and was lucky enough to get a Game System which gave me $75 in Kohl's Cash to use next week. I also went Friday and it was completely packed. There were people all over and complaining about the huge line that pretty much went around the entire store. I had just a couple of items and I asked a rep to help me, and she recommended that I use the kiosk. I was EXTREMELY HAPPY that I would be able to buy these items and get them shipped to my home for free by buying them using the kiosk. This also meant that I didn't have to wait on line which would have easily taken about an hour to get to a register. I can't tell you how ECSTATIC I was walking out of Kohl's and not having to wait on that line. I definitely would recommend this location for its convient parking lot but more importantly for the staff who work there. For all the customers who were complaining just be polite and patient with the reps and they will go above and beyond to help you. read more

Worst store ever!!!!! Bought a skillet and a wok online to pick up in the store. Waited 45 minutes just to get the stuff I already paid for. When I got home the cover to the skillet is missing. Called the store and the rude person on the phone told me to go back and return the product. I'm not going to wait another 45 minutes for a mistake that they made. Went shopping for a entire bathroom and bedding because of the sale. First of all their home items are in the lower level with uber small carts and registers are upstairs. How do you expect to shop downstairs and carry everything in 1 small cart? I was with my husband and we had 2 carts and 2 baskets. 3 employees saw us struggling with all the items and didn't offer any help. We didn't want to use the elevator alllllll the way in the back because it's a long walk and we had our son with us too. We took the escalator, employee coming up right behind me also. I turned around and asked her why they don't have larger carts? She pointed that I shouldn't have used the escalator. So you should have helped me or stopped me from even getting on the escalator. We bought $400 worth of items and felt like leaving all of it right there and walking out. Customer service is shit there. Okay so I applied online for a seasonal position after getting an email that they were hiring- although I have a full time job I was willing to work Monday through Friday from 6:00 on. From the application I filled out on line they asked about of 8 Weekend days how many could I work - I replied 4 - I got an email to come in for an interview- I left my full time job early for the interview only to discover that 4 other people were scheduled to be interviewed at the same time - wtf - then after stating when I could work and being sent back to the break room to wait for a one on one interview- when I was interviewed I was told my schedule did not work for them - again - wtf - I told you in the application when I could work. I have a full time job and was willing to work five nights during the week and 3 Saturday's and one Sunday - which was the criteria - only to be told that my choice of hours was unacceptable- meanwhile I was the best dressed person there - there was a woman in sneakers and jeans. I told the manager she completely wasted my time - don't apply to Kohls unless you want to give up your life and probably your first born child / also have NEVER been on a group interview before - I used to be pro-Kohls - no am anti-Kohls - don't apply unless you have no life #kohlshiringsucks! read more
