This is by far the most unprofessional business I've ever encountered. We ended up walking out with two dresses, but we deeply regret our decision. We spent almost $2,000 on dresses that we won't even be able to wear for our event next week.
About three months ago, my mom found a dress priced just over $1,000. I later found the same dress online for a lower price, and the store owner agreed to refund us the difference. When I returned to collect the difference, he told me he would give it to me next time.
When we returned, my mom tried on her dress and loved it, but it needed some adjustments to fit her height and body type. The owner then suggested I try on a new dress, which I did. He told me it was $950, but when I looked at the tag, it was only $650. I confronted him about the price discrepancy, and he agreed to sell it to me for that price.
He also told me the dress was made in Lebanon, although Portia and Scarlett dresses are made in Australia. I liked the dress but wanted to keep my options open since it was strapless. The owner repeatedly pressured me, asking why I didn't like it, insisting that it was beautiful. I told him I was hesitant because I wanted more coverage on top. He then claimed his "professional tailor" could add straps and hem the dress. Although I was still unsure, we moved on to my mom, who was being fitted for alterations.
On our way out, the owner was extremely pushy about me paying in full and ordering the dress that day. I explained that I wanted to keep my options open and would call if I didn't find anything else. He insisted that wasn't an option and told me I was difficult to work with and indecisive. Eventually, I agreed to buy the dress, even though I wasn't entirely comfortable.
Weeks went by, and when we followed up on the dress, the owner said it was still in Lebanon, although we later learned it was shipped from Germany. When I tried on the dress, I wasn't happy with how it looked on me. The owner began criticizing me, calling me difficult and saying I wouldn't like anything. He also told me that if I took the dress, he wouldn't tailor it for me. His behavior was incredibly rude.
My mom tried on her dress, which we were supposed to take home that day, but it was falling apart. I pointed out the issues with the dress, and he responded dismissively with a rude "ok, ok, ok." Eventually, I took my dress, and my mom had to leave hers behind for further repairs. I took my dress to a local tailor, who informed me that it couldn't be altered to add straps. This contradicted what the store owner had told me, suggesting he only wanted to make a quick sale.
The bottom line is: Do not waste your time here!
