Sylvia's Boutique has the best qi paos you can find in NYC. The prices are reasonable and the qi pao I chose for my wedding received so many compliments. I initially wanted to wear a traditional Chinese dress for the tea ceremony portion, but I loved this dress so much that I decided to wear it out for our grand entrance at the reception. We entered in with traditional lion dancers and it was phenomenal. Thank you Sylvia for making my wedding as memorable as it was!

Sylvia made me the wedding dress of my dreams! We are forever grateful for her artistic skill and talents. I wore this red qipao like dress as my wedding gown and did not wear white. She made me a 14 inch train and made the dress to compliment my figure. She was able to put the Peacock on the front and back of my dress where I wanted it and she fitted everything at the end. Our family is so happy with everything and my niece and nephew also looked very good in the matching outfits she provided. Thank you so much for your hard work to make our wedding day very special. This dress complimented my Italian heritage and my husbands Taiwanese heritage as well. The red, the birds, the mermaid body complimenting fit. This dress checked all the boxes.

My favorite design from hers and the silk~!!

I came here to try on wedding qi paos and it was such a fun experience! I haven't had the chance to wear a qi pao since I was a child so as an adult, this was great to see how I looked in one. Sylvia has custom designs as well as more commonly seen design/fabrics that's are ready to purchase. She fits you into these dresses and tells you like a true mother what looks good and what doesn't. In the end I ended up not buying one because my MIL bought a dress for me (non qi pao), but I really loved the quality of the fabrics and oh they felt soo silky and cool!

I was looking for a cheong sam for my tea ceremony. Sylvia was very welcoming, responsive and had many styles and cuts to choose from - from dragon phoenix sets, qi piaos with the side slit and other designs of her own. From her experience she was able to make suggestions about what might look good. Once I purchased a dress, she also took it in and hemmed it at no extra charge. She speaks Mandarin, Cantonese and English. Photo credit : https://nvysotskaya.com/

I came here to purchase a jacket for my wedding next month. This was the easiest and most pleasant purchase of the wedding The owner was present and immediately came over and spoke to us about what we were looking for and made a couple recommendations. The owner, my fiancée, and I had a nice conversation about weddings and the jacket as we search for a good match for the criteria. The jackets were comfortable, good quality, and reasonably priced. Easy day. I left with a jacket that doesn't need to be altered at all below the price I expected to pay. I'm happy!

Sylvia is friendly, helpful, and organized. She has a great selection of dresses. I thoroughly enjoyed my appointment with her. I'm very happy that I purchased my wedding reception dress from her boutique. I would come again if had to attend another event and or recommend!

I came to Sylvia to make a qipao for my wedding. The final product was absolutely beautiful and truly a dress that I felt so special in. I am now thinking of other events that I can wear it to! I wanted something specific and customized, and Sylvia worked with me to make it happen. She was open to and understood my ideas, and added her valuable opinion on design options throughout the process. From being very flexible on setting up times for fittings to searching for the right fabric for the qipao, Sylvia did everything she could to produce a dress that met the quality standards she would be happy with and that I would love. Her price was very fair for all the effort that went into the project. I would instantly recommend her to anyone looking for formal Chinese dress. The fact that she absolutely loves what she does is just an added bonus to working with her. Thank you, Sylvia!

Location wise is on Roosevelt Ave inside the DongDaeMun Shopping Mall Inc which is on the same street as the 7 train. The anime store has three floors (upper floor, main level and basement). Overall, the space is clean and has narrow aisles. Fast service from friendly staff. Cash and/or credit/debit cards are accepted payment. The main floor has a variety of blind boxes, Labubu figures, flash cards, plushies, car models, posters, stationary, figurines especially merch of anime and manga characters....many which I've not heard of before. My favorites are the classic Sanrio and Cardcaptor Sakura. Hugely decent selection of Miku (girl with teal-colored hair) merchandise towards the back of the store. Basement has different kinds of figurines that I've no idea about. My friend knows most of these characters by heart because it seems to be one of her favorite stores whenever coming to the Flushing neighborhood. Flash cards have good deals but the blind boxes are more on the pricier side imo, like $3-4 more compared to other places. Next time if you're wondering what to gift your friends, you can choose to stop by here. I think there has to be something for everyone whether you're into anime or not.

Now, let's talk about the goods - they've got an ocean of $1.99 earrings that are fun to sift through if you enjoy a little treasure hunt. Just don't expect them to last longer than the trend itself, because, let's be real, these pieces are more "fashion" than function. But hey, for under two bucks, why not? They've also got some pricier items if you're feeling fancy, and the store is a paradise for Korean fashion lovers. You'll find everything from trendy clothes and accessories to socks, wallets, and jewelry - basically all the stuff that makes you feel like you walked out of a K-drama (or at least tried). I'm honestly baffled by the negative rating because it's really not thattttt bad. The place is fun, affordable, and they even wrap your purchases like a gift, which is always a nice touch. If you're looking for quality that will last a lifetime, maybe this isn't your stop, but if you want to feel cute for a season, it's a solid place to pop by. 4 stars out of 5.

Long read but MUST READ ALL…read more This is by far the most unprofessional business I've ever encountered. We ended up walking out with two dresses, but we deeply regret our decision. We spent almost $2,000 on dresses that we won't even be able to wear for our event next week. About three months ago, my mom found a dress priced just over $1,000. I later found the same dress online for a lower price, and the store owner agreed to refund us the difference. When I returned to collect the difference, he told me he would give it to me next time. When we returned, my mom tried on her dress and loved it, but it needed some adjustments to fit her height and body type. The owner then suggested I try on a new dress, which I did. He told me it was $950, but when I looked at the tag, it was only $650. I confronted him about the price discrepancy, and he agreed to sell it to me for that price. He also told me the dress was made in Lebanon, although Portia and Scarlett dresses are made in Australia. I liked the dress but wanted to keep my options open since it was strapless. The owner repeatedly pressured me, asking why I didn't like it, insisting that it was beautiful. I told him I was hesitant because I wanted more coverage on top. He then claimed his "professional tailor" could add straps and hem the dress. Although I was still unsure, we moved on to my mom, who was being fitted for alterations. On our way out, the owner was extremely pushy about me paying in full and ordering the dress that day. I explained that I wanted to keep my options open and would call if I didn't find anything else. He insisted that wasn't an option and told me I was difficult to work with and indecisive. Eventually, I agreed to buy the dress, even though I wasn't entirely comfortable. Weeks went by, and when we followed up on the dress, the owner said it was still in Lebanon, although we later learned it was shipped from Germany. When I tried on the dress, I wasn't happy with how it looked on me. The owner began criticizing me, calling me difficult and saying I wouldn't like anything. He also told me that if I took the dress, he wouldn't tailor it for me. His behavior was incredibly rude. My mom tried on her dress, which we were supposed to take home that day, but it was falling apart. I pointed out the issues with the dress, and he responded dismissively with a rude "ok, ok, ok." Eventually, I took my dress, and my mom had to leave hers behind for further repairs. I took my dress to a local tailor, who informed me that it couldn't be altered to add straps. This contradicted what the store owner had told me, suggesting he only wanted to make a quick sale. The bottom line is: Do not waste your time here!
