The skirt was too long no matter how much we adjusted the straps and it also came with a huge stain on it that we didn't see until the day of the wedding because we thought it would be clean after picking it up from the business. The hanbok jacket was also way too short. It almost didn't cover the part of the skirt that covered my mother's chest. Having to pay extra money and not get what you ordered and it be dirty is extremely unacceptable and disappointing. When my husband and I told her about what happened she didn't say anything but "okay" and laughed a little. I definitely don't recommend this hanbok place.

Despite only making an appointment 2 hours prior, Sylvia allowed me to try on as many as I wanted and was super helpful in helping me decide among options. I found brocade styles that I've never seen at other stores or online. I came back several months later (timed with a work trip) to try on what I had ordered -- it had to be shipped from China. I thought I would have to return for a third trip to pick up my tailoring but no, Sylvia made adjustments while I got lunch in Flushing and I took it home that afternoon! I could not recommend making the trek out here more.

She charged me $10 for the dress alteration, and though I opted for the easiest option, the way she altered the dress made it look like it came right off the rack just for my body. My partner brought his jeans to alter an inch off and it cost him $15. The tailor studio is very stuffy and cluttered, but it honestly adds to the charm of Chinatown. Be prepared for the heat in the summer as there's no AC. Also, I spoke in Mandarin and Cantonese, so just be patient with Mrs Lai if you're not Chinese-speaking because I noticed many reviews scoffing at the service and they used English. For the price, I'd gladly fly back to NYC with the clothes I need altered just to visit Mrs Lai's studio. I doubt I'd find anyone of this quality and convenience in LA.

I…read morevisited several stores and boutiques before coming to VERA'S and I was getting a bit discouraged because I tried on at least 3 dozen dresses and I loved parts of some dresses but never the entire dress. When I first walked into Vera's I was greeted so warmly by the reception, namely Irene. The shop was super clean and looked fairly organized. I was paired with Tiara and I showed her a few images of dresses I tried on before with parts that I loved in each one. She picked out 3 dresses for me. What an eye she has! When I tried on the first one, I KNEW IT WAS THE ONE! It's like watching Say Yes To The Dress when brides just feel it's "the one". I tried the other two anyway and after both, I still felt like I needed to try the first one again. Joanna is a magician. The dress was a size 10 and she needed to take it in to a size 4/6. The final fitting was so surreal, the dress fit me like a glove. My dress is intricate with beading and lace and it's crazy how she was able to alter all of it seamlessly!! Because the dress was a floor sample, and not my size, it was at a better price point than a lot of other boutiques. I felt very valued here compared to other boutiques. If I had to recommend a bridal shop, I would highly recommend VERA'S!

I'm a bit of a perfectionist with extremely high standards, so I went into this very critical -- I knew exactly what I wanted. I had a nightmare trying to find a dress for my bridal shower (I'm plus sized, much wider on the bottom than the top, so I had to size up and was terrified it would never look right). The tailor here is phenomenal. She knew exactly how to cut and fit it so the pattern stayed perfect and the length was super flattering. She completely transformed the dress to look like it was made just for me. Yes, she's expensive, but absolutely worth it -- she's an expert, and I'd follow this woman into war!

So as soon as I got my dress, I went hunting online and found Wonhee. She is extremely patient and nice and obviously knows what she is doing. We brought her not only my wedding dress but a reception dress as well as my mother's dress. She recommended that she change the buttons on the back as they were too flimsy and gave me a beautiful bustle and altered straps. My mother and I were worried that it was too tight but she knew what she was doing because in the end it looked beautiful and fitted and didn't put too much pressure on the delicate straps to hold the dress up. She brings her expertise and makes recommendations that would never even come into my mind. For that, i am extremely thankful for her guidance and how she put our minds at ease. I've included the back of the dress to show how beautiful she made it! Thank you!

My daughter needed a prom dress but with three weeks until prom, we weren't able to custom order. We found both a prom gown and a graduation dress and purchased off the rack. Yvonne, the proprietor, made the alterations and delivered the perfectly fitted dresses in under two weeks. She also made Covid masks that perfectly match the dresses. We are over the moon happy with our purchases and with the gold standard service we received. What a treasure this shop is. UPDATE: Today, the day of my daughters prom, we realized that the hook that aligns with the bustle was missing. Frantically I left a message for Yvonne and she got back to me immediately. With her calm demeanor, she told me to come right in with the dress and she would make the alteration on the spot. It took under 15 minutes and the dress is now perfect. How many stores give this level of service? And all with a smile. Can't wait to lose weight so I can shop Kimera for myself!
