I am getting married the end of this month and VERA'S bridal made my experience one to remember. I visited several stores and boutiques before coming to VERA'S and I was getting a bit discouraged because I tried on at least 3 dozen dresses and I loved parts of some dresses but never the entire dress. When I first walked into Vera's I was greeted so warmly by the reception, namely Irene. The shop was super clean and looked fairly organized. I was paired with Tiara and I showed her a few images of dresses I tried on before with parts that I loved in each one. She picked out 3 dresses for me. What an eye she has! When I tried on the first one, I KNEW IT WAS THE ONE! It's like watching Say Yes To The Dress when brides just feel it's "the one". I tried the other two anyway and after both, I still felt like I needed to try the first one again. Joanna is a magician. The dress was a size 10 and she needed to take it in to a size 4/6. The final fitting was so surreal, the dress fit me like a glove. My dress is intricate with beading and lace and it's crazy how she was able to alter all of it seamlessly!! Because the dress was a floor sample, and not my size, it was at a better price point than a lot of other boutiques. I felt very valued here compared to other boutiques. If I had to recommend a bridal shop, I would highly recommend VERA'S! read more

STAY AWAY!! All new brides stay away from this establishment. They're unprofessional and unorganized. On January 11th 2025 I held a dress fitting with 8 of my bridesmaids. We loved the dresses and placed our orders same day. Certain dresses had additional requirements (i.e added length for my taller ladies). Tiarra the manager was assisting us the entire morning. I asked Tiarra if we rushed the order when will it arrive. She calls on speaker the manufacturer and plays aloud the feedback regarding production. Rush orders will be delivered in 4-6 weeks. So the ladies and I proceed to order all 8 dresses. Tiarra advise she will submit the order on Monday and email the confirmation. Monday comes and goes. No call or email from Tiarra or her team. I call on Tuesday, the order wasn't placed, they will do it today. Nothing. Jan 16th I receive the order confirmation and it's all wrong. The sizes for the girls were wrong, the added length was not specified for my taller ladies and the rush was not added to the order DESPITE us paying the fee! I immediately call Tiarra who informs she did not place the order, she's unsure how what happened and she insisted on waiting for whomever placed the order to come in and fix it. I had to remind Tiarra that she is the store manager and that she should have some sense of urgency to fix this order herself. She originally worked with me, she fitted all the girls, she wrote everything down and the fact that she didn't place the order is the precise reason we're in this predicament. Tiarra still hesitant to assist, tells she will make a few calls and get back to me when the order is fixed. Tiarra calls me that afternoon, says the order is fixed and we have a delivery date of Feb 28th 2025. On Feb 28th I call to asses if the delivery has arrived and Tiarra advises it has not and she's unsure when it will arrive. I asked her to check the tracking # and she informs me she does not have a tracking number. How is that even possible! In Jan she informed a delivery date of Feb 28th and now she's informing the complete opposite. So here we're 2 months after paying for our bridesmaid dresses, along with a rush fee and we have nothing. No evidence of the dresses in production. No tracking #. No estimated arrival. Absolutely nothing. Tiarra and her team showed no remorse. No sense of urgency. Poor communication. Poor organizational skills and completely ruined my bridal experience. My wedding is 72 days away and we have nothing idea when to expect these dresses. Not even so much of an apology for the inconvenience. Stay away! read more

I said yes to the dress! I had such a pleasant experience at Vera's Bridal in Englewood, NJ. I chose Vera's because they carried my favorite designer, Madi Lane. They had a wide variety of styles and colors to choose from. Vera and her team were very helpful and accommodating and guided me into choosing my dream dress! I was able to have 4 guests come along with me and the whole store to our selfs! Everything was clean and sanitized and our temps were taken at the door. I just wanna say how amazing Vera and Elisha are. I was looking for a bridal gown off the rack because my wedding was a month away and I was also five months pregnant.They were so amazing and kind and provide an amazing customer service. They were patient and I had to visit that I came back and tried on dresses again and they help me with a couple of more dresses. Ultimately I never got my dress from them but I was really due to the size of my belly and not them nor the dresses. The selections were absolutely beautiful. Vera is spectacular! I'd give 10 stars if I could! Had the best experience finding the dress of my dreams. Absolutely must visit her store when looking for your big day. She carries so much selection. After finding the PERFECT dress we found my veil and belt in 5 min! Veras absolutely a delight to work with also. Parking was a bit of a pain but there's a parking garage right next to her store. Highly recommend parking there and not waste time looking for a street spot. read more

I found the dress of my dreams at Vera's! While the dress selection at Vera's is absolutely amazing, the real prize is in the kindness of the staff. I was really lucky to work with Tiara, Vera, and their amazing seamstress. It's funny because my Pinterest board looked super different from the dress I ended up getting. I told Tiara I wanted something a bit classic and a bit different, and she pulled some dresses aligned to that vision and some dresses that were different from what I imagined for myself just to try something new, and it was her encouraging me to try new styles that actually led me to find my dress. Tiara was so thorough and professional but also felt like my bff cheering me on throughout the dress choosing process and the dress fitting process. Vera was also always ready with a smile, a compliment, and great insights as an industry professional. The seamstress they work with is so detail oriented and so kind. Sometimes I didn't know what I wanted or what was right, and she was so ready to be helpful and to make suggestions for every little bit of tailoring I needed. "You wasted my time," those were the words of the consultant. Vera Bridal was the first shop where I tried on wedding dresses. The appointment went well, but I didn't find my "perfect" dress. However, I did love their mantilla veils. Later on, I emailed the consultant, and asked her if I could make an appointment to purchase a veil and to also look for mother of the bride dresses. When my mom and I arrived at the shop, we immediately noticed the bad attitude of the consultant. She was finishing up fitting a bride, so we waited patiently. She immediately said, "you are here for the veils," and I told her yes and also to look at mother of the bride dresses. She told me that she didn't have time to look at mother of the bride dresses. That was strike one... After the customer had left, she let me try on the three veils that I loved. After I picked out the veil, she looked up the information on her laptop, and she told us that the veil was discontinued. She told me she would call the veil vendor on Monday and get back to me. I proceeded to ask her when we can come back to look at mother of the brides dresses, and my mouth dropped when she said "I don't want to waste my time with your mom, like I did with you!" She said that I was a waste of her time because I tried on too many dresses, and I didn't buy a dress at her salon. I can't believe that I am unable to shop there because I didn't buy the dress at her salon! I wanted to purchase the veil, but after getting that response and attitude from her I decided not to purchase anything from her shop at all. I suggest if you don't plan on buying your dress there then don't go! You will receive a nasty, rude, and totally unprofessional attitude. In my opinion, this bridal store should charge for first time consultations that way they won't WASTE their time! read more

I had an amazing experience at Vera's Bridal. I was in town with my sister and mom having brunch and I called last minute (not expecting to get seen right away). To our surprise there was an opening and I was seen by Elish right away. I had a general idea of what I wanted in a wedding gown, but Elish knew right away what I wanted. I tried on about 4 dresses, one more beautiful than the last. She was kind, attentive, and extremely pleasant to work with. Although the dresses were much larger than the size I normally wear, Elish and Vera were able to help me envision what the gown will look like on my wedding day. I met the seamstress as well! DISCLAIMER - THIS HAPPENED IN 2017, BUT I JUST DISCOVERED THIS IN MY DRAFTS! I feel strongly enough about my negative experience to still put this out there. If you can avoid this place, do so! I made an appointment at this shop because they carried the two Bari Jay dresses in samples that I wanted for my 4 bridesmaids and 2 matrons of honor. It was important to me that I could get my girls somewhere they could physically try the actual dress on. Having the 2 samples was literally the only positive thing I have to say about the shop. This is going to a be a little lengthy, but please read on if you plan on visiting here for bridesmaids dresses! (I can't speak for a wedding gown experience because I did not purchase here.) First, Ridegwood is not the closest for my bridesmaids or myself to get to. It is in my sister's town, which is how I found it. But the next closest girl lives an hour away, and the rest are more than an hour. I made this clear from the beginning, that only one of us were local and no one would be having alterations done here. That did not stop them from oversizing my girls. One of my bridesmaids got measured as a size 16 (she normally wears a 10, but we all know how small dresses run!). She then was asked if she would like to try on the sample of the exact dress she would be wearing (a size 12). The 12 fit her PERFECTLY. There is NO reason she should have been measured up 2 dress sizes, especially after I made it clear NO ONE was getting alterations done there. Now, I know probably most places do this, but that made me distrust their judgement of sizing for the rest of the girls. Next, my one matron of honor is pregnant (due 2 days after my wedding date). They were unfamiliar with the designer's maternity option for the dress. I specifically chose this designer and this dress because I knew it came in maternity! They were going to just order her a bigger normal size rather than order a maternity dress. We had to argue that we wanted the maternity option. They proceeded to order my size 6 matron of honor a SIZE 18 MATERNITY. Now, again, we all know dress sizes run small. But the size 18 maternity was HUGE on her! This was uncalled for. She then spent more in alterations than she did for the dress. Another one of my bridesmaids went to the store with my two matrons of honor and myself so they could all try on the dresses and pay the balance. More than a week later, my bridesmaid who came with me said she got a call that Vera's Bridal NEVER received her payment, and she was the only one holding up the dress order! Said bridesmaid pulled up her email confirmation and forwarded it to the dress shop to prove she paid in FULL that day! Unbelievable. Aside from the nightmare of a dress ordering process I've had, the shop isn't set up in the most convenient way. As soon as you walk in through the "front" door (which is really on the side), you are walking right in front of the ONE pedestal and mirror. My 3 bridesmaids and I were lucky enough to stumble upon a bride trying on gowns. It's unavoidable. I can't imagine any bride having a good trying on experience with the shop set up the way it is! There is a whole private area in the "back" of the shop where two of my girls were taken by the tailor to try on the bridesmaids dresses. This is really where brides should be taken! It's quiet, set aside from the front door hub-bub, and spacious with seating. Oh, and make sure you have a credit card that swipes (or a check/cash) because she will charge you a 4% increase on your purchase if she has to TYPE IN THE NUMBER on her phone. She does not have an actual credit card machine! So be weary if you give your number over the phone as well, because that will be a 4% increase. read more

Finding my dream wedding dress was not an easy task, but as soon as I met Vera, she knew exactly what I wanted, and made the journey so easy and enjoyable! I had such a lovely experience at Vera's Bridal, in large part thanks to the amazing Olivia! Vera's was the 4th bridal salon on my list, so I had already narrowed down my dress style. I described the desired look when I confirmed my appointment over the phone the day before my visit. The minute I walked in, Olivia reiterated the notes I provided (including my dress budget) and had already pulled some options. I was in my first dress within 5 minutes of arriving...and it was the one! Especially with COVID restrictions, I was so appreciative of 1) how prepared Olivia and Vera's team were when we arrived, 2) the store's cleanliness (it was immaculate), and 3) how seriously they adhered to social distancing and sanitizing guidelines. My experience at VERA'S bridal was by far the best one out of all of the bridal shops I visited. Vera has a wonderful selection of beautiful gowns for brides, bridesmaids, and mother's of the bride/groom. She was extremely patient and carefully selected a variety of gowns for me to try. I returned to the store with different family members and friends 3 times before buying the gown and each time she was very kind and patient without being pushy at all! I was rushed from the moment I walked in the door- "Are you making a decision today?", "Ok, you need to hurry another bride is coming in 10 minutes", "we already picked out dresses for you (without evening letting me state what I liked)." Also, I could have done without Vera's snarky remarks "finally.. you like something.." Perhaps I would have liked something sooner if you would have let me explain my preferences from the beginning. I would NOT recommend this spot to anyone. The boutique was small and felt crowded. I felt the selection was not as great as other boutiques I have been in. Amazing experience here. I visited from NYC because this salon was the only one within 25 miles that had a specific dress I wanted to try on. My consultant was extremely helpful, patient, and did a fantastic job of picking dresses for me that were both flattering and in line with my style and taste. I never felt rushed or pressured to buy ASAP. Every single dress was unique, beautiful, and well within my budget. I visited another salon back in the city and had the opposite experience. Went with my future sister in law to Vera's Bridal to try on dresses for her 2021 Turks and Caicos wedding. We were greeted by her consultant who was very nice but didn't really seem interested in looking at the pictures the bride had brought in of a style she liked. The pictures we did have were all screenshots from their own website but were told that they don't have every dress that is on their website and could maybe find something similar. Why add photos to your site if you don't have the dresses in the store? Then we were introduced to Vera and thats when things took a turn for the worse. She is very cold and unfriendly. My SIL asked if her mother could go in the dressing room with her and help her decide if a dress was even worth coming out in to show us so we didn't waste time. Vera immediately was not happy about this. So much so, she ended up kicking the Mother of the Bride out of the dressing room because she asked them to clamp the back of the dress so the bride wasn't swimming in it and we could see it fit to her body. Rude! My SIL was also interested in trying on a few different styles to see what she would like and Vera was basically having none of that. She put her in the same exact style for every dress and when we would show her a picture of something we wanted her to try on, Vera would say "but do you even like a-line?" Do you even like something with broad shoulders?" Well Vera, how are we supposed to know what a FIRST TIME BRIDE likes without being given the opportunity to try it?! We were rushed from the minute we walked in. My queston is, how is a future bride supposed to make a decision like this within an hour? She only allowed my SIL to try on 4 dresses (one of which was completely ridiculous and not at all a style we showed) before rushing us to have her try on the first dress for a second time (which we liked but definitely wasn't "the one"). Don't waste your time going to Vera's unless you know exactly what dress you are looking for. They couldn't care less about making it a fun, memorable (in a good way) experience. read more

Made an appointment hoping to find a dress to wear to my daughters wedding. The place was clean, bright and inviting. Thats were the positives end. Vera's would not seat us by the formal wear because someone else was there even though when making the appointment I told them that I was there to find a mother of the bride dress. Would not even let me look. The assistant brought out 3 dresses to show me all not even worth trying. I understand and respect the precautions due to Covid. All I wanted to do is look and not touch unless something caught my eye. That was not an option here. Tried on one dress that was 6 sizes too big and had to be clipped in the back. But good news they will alter the dress for me. At that point ordering the same new dress that fits me would be cheaper than the cost of altering the sample I tried. Then she brought out 2 dresses that were so small about a 4-6 that I could not even fit into. How discouraging. At that point I was done. Leaving discouraged I went to Macy's and found the perfect dress for a fraction of the price and I was able to look and pick out my dress. Do not recommend going to Vera's if you are looking for formal wear unless you know exactly what you are looking for. read more

I visited Vera's about 8 months before my wedding. My appointment was during the week, and I had a very personalized experience with Vera (going to a dress appointment anywhere during the week is way, way better than going on a weekend!!). She was attentive and listened to what I was looking for. She was helpful with suggestions, not pushy as some other bridal places can be. I did not end up finding my dress at this visit, but I really felt that Vera was entirely invested in her business and committed to helping brides. Therefore, when I did find a beautiful Rosa Clara dress at a store in NYC, I actually called Vera to see if I would be able to order it through her. Even though Vera did not have the exact dress I was looking for at her store, she kindly agreed to order it for me. I live in Westchester and there are plenty of bridal shops here and in NYC, but I decided to drive about an hour to Vera's because I wanted a personalized experience and I was so impressed with the way Vera took care of her sample dresses and I knew my own dress would be in good hands. My dress came in right when it was supposed to, and Vera immediately emailed me to let me know it was in (I've heard horror stories of other places not letting brides know right away when their dress is in!). I did all of my alterations at Vera's with Bozena, who did a phenomenal job. Vera assured me that she would make sure I was 100% satisfied with my dress before taking it home, and I ended up going back three times for my fittings! The dress came out perfect. I honestly could not have asked for a better experience, and I have been telling all of my engaged friends about Vera's.
