We were sharing dinner with my elderly mother, who couldn't remember ever having Indian food, yet I knew she liked Thai food. Good food. The restaurant is very clean. Service was good. I had the lamb coconut kurma. My wife (who is Thai) had the bhindi bhaji (spicy okra). Both were very good. I have been nervous to try this place because the outside didn't make it look like it was going to be very good...But, don't worry about that - go in and make yourself comfortable. My wife and I eat Indian 3 - 4 times a month and it is always at Bombay because it is, hands down, the best Indian food outside of India...but, it isn't open for lunch so i've always wanted a place to go to for lunch. We went by this place Friday night since we were close and had dinner with some friends. We were all very happy with the food, as long as we didn't try to compare to Bombay since that would be unfair...but, it really does stand up on its own... So, today for lunch i took my daughter there since she didn't have school today and wanted indian food...we got the lunch special to share since she usually doesn't eat much. I was worried that it wouldn't feed both of us but we walked out of there stuffed...it was a ton of food (with unlimited Naan, rice and Dr. Pepper)...she picked the Chicken Curry and Shrimp Masalla - both were great... So, don't expect it as good as Bombay (even though the word is they have a chef from there) because it really isn't, but after traveling the world and having indian everywhere i can honestly say Bombay is the best...but, Kohinoor is excellent if you are near there or during lunch...i will for sure be back! read more

My friend and I were craving Indian food the other day and I am new to Utah County so we decided to give this place a try. That was a bad idea. The food was decent, not the best but also not the worst. The service, however, was abysmal. When we walked in the staff were already dealing with an unhappy customer, we should have seen that as a red flag! The staff were rude, didn't give us what we ordered, argued with us about it, overcharged us, didn't give us a receipt and then after we left added a few more dollars to our bill. AVOID THIS PLACE. Kohinoor is our favorite Indian restaurant in Utah County. We come here almost weekly to fill our desire to slurp a curry. My wife loves the Chicken Tikka and the Butter Chicken. I ALWAYS get the Lamb Boti Masala. Its one of the best lamb masalas I have ever had. The staff is very friendly. They can accommodate larger parties but make a great intimate date. The restaurant is quiet with the soft sounds of Indian music playing the background. The garlic nan is fantastic too. Make sure you get that. We will continue to come back every week for as long as we can. read more

This is our favorite Indian restaurant in Utah county but the service is super slow most nights we've been. Even on busy days there is only one person serving, sitting, bussing, and doing take out. We were told 20 minutes for a seat but it was more like 40 minutes even though there were open tables. Food is amazing, service super slow. read more

These people were very rude, I was getting food for a bunch of healthcare workers and asked for receipts they just looked at me and threw them away. Food was ok, had better but then some of the things we ordered and paid for not there . We called them back they said bring in your receipt and we'll be glad to replace, yeah no since they threw it away . Most consistent taste and quality of ingredients of any Indian food statewide. Service is slowish, understaffing I think. Their dining room is old and unattractive. My husband and I came here to try it based on the reviews. The restaurant was not very busy, but still took the employee about fifteen minutes to seat us. After we were seated, we sat at our table for a long time without our order being taken. During this time, a lot more people came into the restaurant to eat. The one employee we saw was trying to seat people, take care of to-go orders, and probably was the one who was suppose to be taking people's food orders. After sitting there forever, we left and went to eat somewhere else. This place definitely needs more Servers. Will not go back. read more

My experience at Kohinoor was a good one. I was really impressed by the fellow who took our order because he was very nice and answered all of my questions and offered suggestions too. I ordered the mango lemonade, peshwari naan, and the butter chicken (medium heat). My food came out about 10 minutes later than the others in my party, but it was worth the wait. The lemonade was really good! The mango purée in it was really smooth. I loved the peshwari naan, it was so good. The rice was delicious but the butter chicken-it transported me. It wasn't very spicy, at all, even for medium. I think they made it mild by mistake because everyone else at the table ordered mild. But the spices were so good and the cashews in it made it even better. I would probably come back, but I still prefer Bombay House. read more

I think this is one of the best indian resturants in utah county. Their butter chicken is really good and I can recomend the kohinoor snacks as apitizers with an awesome tamarind sauce to go with it. It contains smaller sizes of all their apetizers. Most dishes are utah spicy meaning really no heat at all but the flavours are still there. I generally order medium+ as the hot is just too much. The naans are good and if you want a sweeter naan the peshawari is one you have to try. read more

I absolutely love this place. They have a very wide variety of vegetarian choices which is important to me. They of course also have choices for the omnivores as well. The food tends toward the less spicy compared to some Indian restaurants I've been to, which works for me. Not too spicy but not bland either. You can of course request they change the spiciness to your own choice. The customer service is typical of a small business, that is to say exceptional. Having lived in India I can say that Kohinoor does offer good Northern Indian/Nepalese food. It is very authentic and has great flavor. I felt like the paneer could have been fresher. My biggest beef with this restaurant is the prices are too high to generate a sustainable business. I feel that the other Indian Restaurants in the valley are close enough in distance and quality of food that I do not have an incentive to eat here rather than Bombay House or India Palace. To create a sustainable Indian restaurant, the Kohinoor need to lower its prices to better compete. read more
