If you want legitimate Korean food cooked by a Korean aunty in a small kitchen with a home-cooked vibe, you come here. If you want great service, come here If you want incredible food, come here. If you want cheap, lots of food for the price, super fast service, don't care about who makes it or what's in it, have to have tons of things to choose from on the menu, this isn't the place for you. This is a home-y, small business vibe. It will take some time to cook the food. Many menu items are only available certain days. There is a select amount of the side dishes. And I'm ok with all of it. Loved the feel. Loved the service. Loved the food. Everything felt small and inviting. 10/10 for me. read more

Quality of food and service was great. Will definitely come back. Food was very flavorful and well prepared.

One woman show and she was phenomenal. Food was authentic and delicious. Cute place - will come back. My husband got the bulgogi, I got the stone bowl. Gyoza was great with the true sauce it's supposed to be serve with. read more

Kogane Korean Kitchen - Cute decorations on window shelf - Korean Near Me - South Ogden, Utah

For my brief readers: This is the hidden gem you are looking for in terms of Korean food within South Ogden. It's homey and quiet, with awesome food that is as authentic as can be. For my in depth readers: Off of Washington blvd and on 40th south, there is a hidden gem on the south side of Ogden. There was a small little place that you wouldn't even recognize as a restaurant until you walked up to it. But let me say, you are missing out by not going here. The food is authentic and fantastic with the sweetest people working inside. I couldn't tell you the name of what I ordered but it was spicy chicken with vegetables and rice cakes and it was phenomenal. With all of my heart and soul if you love Korean food then you have to stop here. You'll probably be paying around $20 per plate and they do offer a fair amount of sides as well. Below is some pictures of what else we got while we went. read more

The food was truly delicious and authentic and the service was great too! 10/10 recommend if you're looking for quality Korean food!!

Absolutely love this place!! Some of the most authentic Korean food I have had in UT. We love their bulgogi, kalbi short ribs, and their veggie pancakes. It is always a treat whenever we go here. The restaurant is a little small, so they fill up quick. There are a couple chefs in the back and only one waitress most of the time: patience is key. It is totally worth it though! This place is your typical hidden gem, whole in the wall. So good!! read more

What a gem! Ambiance: Located in what was probably an old house, with plenty of parking. There's also a bunch of cute Korean decor everywhere. Service: Very low key but very sweet service!! Food: Limited menu as there were a lot of things only available on certain days of the week. Got the cold noodles and spicy pork belly. Everything's was delicious! I wish it came with banchan but it was only 2.99 additional. Was not expecting this in the area, but was super good and will be back! read more

I've always found the outside charming & the interior didn't disappoint. Wonderful food. I loved the smiles as we left. read more

Very good! I thought the food was delicious and the service was very attentive. The menu isn't super big which I'm not mad about, but I will admit it felt a little pricey. Usually the other korean spots I go to give you free sides but you have to pay for them here. It's only $2.99 for the 5 combo. It's also very small so expect a small wait in the weekends for sure but overall I would recommend trying this place! read more

I love this place. The food is always delicious. I can't stop coming back. So quaint and friendly.

One of my highest recommendations for Ogden. Well-cooked, homey Korean food at its best. The service really is great and the small house-turned-restaurant gives the exact vibe of the meal. It is expensive, as far as Korean dishes can go, but Kogane also has a corner on the market here. I loved the spicy chicken bulgogi most! read more

Best Korean food I've gotten in Utah, and that's saying something. Owners definitely know what they are doing, sweet older women, likely in their 50's-60's. The restaurant itself is always clean and has a nice atmosphere for the most part, kind of small but real nice place for lunch or a causal dinner date. Me and my pops have spent a lot of time and money here, and for good reason. Not a single thing I've ordered off their menu has disappointed and I would say I've ordered about 2/3 of their items. I'd post a picture but every time the food hits the table we say grace and devour about 3-5 meat plates. Absolutely fabulous, and underrated when it comes to getting good Korean food :) read more

Food is good if you can wait long enough to get it, service was awful. I called ahead and asked if they could handle our group of 16 people and they said yes. There were only 2 people there, a server and a cook and the server didn't speak English. It took forever for us to order due to the language barrier, and the girl had several other tables to take care of. We waited about an hour with no food and some of us had tickets to a play nearby and were anxious about the wait. It took another 20 minutes for 1 person to be served, then another 10 minutes for a few more but by then, some people got up and left. I would say, don't go here with more than 3 or 4 people max in your group. It's a small place with not many employees. The food was good but it was eat and run and I was late for the play. read more

If you are considering having a meal at Ko-Ga-Ne: go! My husband and I had a lovely dinner here tonight. He had the Squid Stone Bowl, a specialty item only available in Mondays. I chose the Stone Bowl BeeBeemBob. Both came SIZZLIN'. It is an intimate space, very inviting and cozy. Our server was wonderful. I would highly recommend that you visit Ko-Ga-Ne for a relaxed night out. read more

Wow, what a gem! I almost didn't go inside when pulling up because the building is just a house and a little unkept facing the street. I'm sure glad I did! Service was fast and friendly. The food.... amazing. Everything I had looked identical to the menu pictures. Small place that doesn't seat many but very CLEAN! Serves a few items on only certain days which just means I'll have to come back! Not a local but will definitely return my next time through! read more

This is my favorite restaurant, so when we went out for a little self-care, it was my pick. Small cozy and just right for enjoying another person's company. It wasn't the same as it usually is. I noticed too late a little sign on the table that, due to the rising food costs, you had to ask for the accompaniments such as lettuce, pickled radish and bean paste. Seems reasonable. Our server didn't seem overly happy that I didn't order it ahead. Oops. She also chastised me for making more work for her when I stacked what I thought were the appetizer plates with the empty gyoza dish. The gyoza and sauce was perfect. Ordered the beef bulgolgi because it's the happiest comfort food and diabetes friendly. It was delicious as always, but I was disappointed because I remember it coming with a bunch of sides and sauces. My favorite is the seasonal selections such as garlic tops, sweet potato, etc. Today all we were brought was just meat, lettuce, pickled radish and the paste. Really missed the kimchi. Nothing was wasted, practically licked the plate. Chalking up the change to Bidenflation. Not happy about it. But still going to support this little restaurant. There's heart and soul in every bite. She grows much of her own ingredients, prepared by hand, with a beautiful consistency. Can't wait to come again and see if it's a one-off or the new standard. read more

Amazing little hole in the wall! Best beef bolgulgi and rice!! It's a small restaurant but it's well worth a lunch date!

This is a small place, not a lot of seating, but oh my gosh, the food is so good. My favorite is the spicy pork belly, but everything I have tried has been excellent. Be sure and spend a little extra for the sides, ( pickled radish, kimchee, pickle cucmber etc.)They are worth it. read more

The food was very bland and over priced. The chicken was over cooked and the rice bowl had no taste at all. Very disappointed. I was at least expecting some sauce that had some flavor. Plus they charge a 3.5% fee for using a credit card without even telling us. Don't think I'll be back again. read more

The food was soooo good! Service was great! I love authentic, small restaurants like this. Highly recommend!!

Oh this restaurant is so good and brings home the flavor. I was surprised with its authentic preparation. Anytime there is a chill in the air, I am in the mood for Soon Dobu. A soft tofu stew with pork and seafood. I guarantee you, it will clear up your sinuses. So I can't give it a full five because of the ambiance. I don't mind casual dining but the dining room is cramped. The patio could be great but not well maintained. However, my soup was so good I ordered the bulgogi to go. I was impressed they captured a smoky flavor to the meat. Traditionally, it is best with coal bbq. I suggest order the "sides" to go with it. I am used to complementary panchan but this is a restaurant in a small city. Props to Hannah for being a great front person, server, and cashier. For all I know she might do some of the cooking since I was on the patio. She was on top of everything and maintained a friendly demeanor. It was a busy Friday night and it was only 5:30 PM. read more

We ADORE this place. Finally convinced my husband to try Korean, and this was the only place to go. The food is superb - I'm working my way through the menu and every single item has been exceptional. Don't be shy - ask for a fork if you need one! They are very accomodating. read more

Ya roll up, and it looks like you are pulling up to grandmas house... there is a parking lot but don't let the exterior fool you! This place is a classic "hole in the wall" spot! Ya know, that's hole in the wall you always hear about... SUPER AUTHENTIC & SUPER FLAVORFUL! It's very small inside and can be tricky if you have young and loud or rambunctious kids (like I do!) bc it's so small in the dining area, even the quietest noises seem loud and over powering! Pro tip: We came just before dinner time and there were only two other patrons there at the table beside us. So if you are bringing kids, plan for before or after normal eating hours to have a little more privacy. We ordered BEEF BULKOGI and it was DELICIOUS! It's sweet, like teriyaki. It comes with an infused rice that looks purple (and very interesting and fun for kids!) The rice was perfect! As to be expected. We also ordered the SAUSAGE SOYBEAN STEW. It came out boiling hot and was so packed with flavor! It's a tad SPICY so be prepared for that. Nothing our kids couldn't handle but still...(keep in mind that Koreans refer to hotdogs as sausage. So the soup has breakfast ham and two different types of "sausage" AKA hot dogs in it. The broth flavor is UNBEATABLE though. The pickled onions were yummy! We will definitely be back and we want to try more things on the menu. Prices in the double digits so expect that. Really everything is over $10 nowadays... so no surprise there but yea.. I would love to try one of their rice bowls, and the pancake! THEY DO NOT HAVE A SEPARATE KIDS MENU. So be aware. Overall we absolutely loved this place. What a hidden gem!!! We will be back. Next time, no kids . Enjoy! And tip well!!! These ladies worked hard to please us! Wonderful costumer service and flavorful foods prepared with love no doubt! read more

This charming, mom-and-pop spot offers a clean, inviting ambiance with authentic Korean flavors that truly shine. This place doesn't follow the typical tradition of serving side dishes with entrees which is why it is only four stars rated. It's a small operation run by a dedicated individual, so while the wait might be a bit longer. It is cool to check out once in a while if you are desperate for Korean food but I do not see myself being a regular read more

We ordered take out on a Saturday night. It was super easy to grab our food. We planned take out so we wouldn't have to wait since the restaurant is small, but there were plenty of tables available... now we know for next time. We got the spicy pork bulgogi which was amazing and I would order over and over again. We also go a kimchi soup and a japchae. I didn't like the kimchi soup at all, but not a big surprise there as I'm very picky on my kimchi flavors. It was just too strong for me. The japchae was delicious, but the spicy pork bulgogi was significantly better in our opinion. All was tasty and we would recommend based on your personal taste preferences though. read more

This place is always a delight to go to from the service to the food I thought it was all great. The beef bulgogi was so tender it felt like I wasn't paying enough for it and the bibimbap is super fresh and tasty and super filling. Our first visit, it was a Friday night at 6 & I wasn't sure we'd find a table, but they were only 1/2 full the entire time we were there. Wholeheartedly recommend! read more

It's open - it's clean and has good service. Food was very good. Authentic but not too authentic. My only complaint is the entree doesn't come with complementary banchan. (side dishes) It also has a very small dining area. There's only about 8 tables. read more

Loved this little place, and it was nice to find that it was open all day! We had japche and bi bim bap, and gyoza... all of it was excellent! If I were to find any fault it would have been that the egg on my bi bim bap was overcooked for my taste. I'll just ask for a soft egg next time... and there WILL BE a next time! I really loved all of the food here, and the service was super friendly! I want to go back again as soon as I can! read more

Good but not great. I am confident, they know how to make great, authentic Korean food. But they have adjusted authentic Korean recipes to accommodate the Utah palate since they cannot tolerate anything spicier than ketchup. Sad, actually. read more
