Been here numerous times, got there waited 15mins, the man was seating others that came in after us. They didn't have much of a variety at the sushi bar, but it was ok. Buffet area was ok. The main problem was when I paid by debit, was goin to leave a cash tip when my friends and I were done however the female busser grabbed my receipt and literally mumbles wow no tip and continues to mumble walking away, thought that was very rude of her. Upon leaving she continues to yell to her coworkers "they no tip" and sayin rude comments to us. After that the only tip I left was to be patient and not talk your way out of a tip. read more

I went on Monday for my first time and it wasn't a terrible experience. The sushi was super fresh and all the food was great, only thing that wasn't good at all, was the imitation crab. It really just tasted like rubber. This place was definitely was more of a Chinese buffet because there was more Chinese food then sushi and there wasn't very many different rolls, but for all you can eat this place is nice. My family and I's plates were left on our table for a long time so it sort of piled up quick with it being six of us. I really used to like this place... before I had a baby that is. This place is incredibly unfriendly to babies, which is extremely sad and has caused my last 2 visits to be unpleasant. I discovered this place while pregnant and would frequent it with my husband. The food and service was usually always very good so we would always return. Unfortunately, that all changed for me recently. Today was my 2nd unpleasant experience. Last time, I hesitated to write because I wanted to believe it was all in my head. However, after tonight i realized it wasn't me, it w as indeed the service we received. The entire time we dined tonight, we did not receive not even ONE refill. All I was drinking was water... not that that should matter at all! Not ONCE did they stop by our table to clear off any empty plates. So by the end of dinner, our table was completely filled with plates. They stuck us in a back corner and acted like if we weren't even there! They wouldn't even look our way! When I would try and call our server over with an "excuse me" I was met with "one minute" and "I'll be right there" but they never came. The same can be said for other servers. No one would approach our table. It was very sad to be treated this way simply for coming in with a baby. This was my baby's first time sitting in a high chair in a restaurant and she did happen to drop 2 fries and an egg roll, but we picked them up swiftly after they fell because we didn't want to cause an imposition. However after tonight, it is settled we WILL NOT be returning. There's far too many restaurants in this area with way better service to ever consider this place again. This review is for lunch on a Saturday afternoon starting at around 1:20pm. In my experience, I know that AYCE sushi is very hit or miss and the lunch price of $14.99 lowered my expectations even more. Why try it then? Well, sometimes you have a craving and you just want to see. Occasionally, you're pleasantly surprised. We walked in the door and were quickly greeted. We were asked if we wanted a booth or to sit at the sushi bar. We opted for the bar. If you've never been to a Sushi Restaurant where the food is plated and then placed on boats in a moat, it's an interesting experience. In a more traditional restaurant of this type, each food item is plated on a particular color or designed plate. Each plate is a specific price. As you eat, the plates should be stacked by color. At the end of the meal, the plates are counted, mulitiplied by price and the total presented. At an All-You-Can-Eat restaurant, plate colors don't matter because you're paying one price. There were three sushi chefs working and one more that came out of the back kitchen on occasion. Not sure what he was bringing out. I'm going to have to say I'm using the title Sushi Chef very lightly here. We have eaten out in 21 different countries and I truly believe that you don't have to be of the ethnicity of the food that you are preparing. However, you should have some cultural knowledge of the cuisine that you're presenting. In a typical sushi-ya in Japan, the restaurants are generally much smaller than here in the US. The Sushi Chefs often greet guests with enthusiasm and thank them as they leave. Not so here. During the 65 minutes or so that we were seated at the Sushi Bar, the only time that I saw any interaction between a Sushi Chef and a guest is when the guest reached over and placed a gratuity in one of the bowls labeled "For Sushi Chefs Only". The Chef said "Thank you". Not once did any of the three make eye contact with us or speak to us. What they did do was work like machines making numerous rolls, almost all with fake crab. Think about variations on the California Roll. With Mayonnaise. With Unagi Sauce. With Siracha. With Mayonnaise and Unagi Sauce. With Mayonaise and Siracha. With Unagi Sauce and Siracha. Or with Mayonnaise, Unagi Sauce AND Siracha. There were a few minor alterations. California Roll topped with a sliver of salmon and then a variation of sauce(s). What was missing was any attempt at nigiri (rice topped with fish). There was the occasional Tempura Prawn, all alone on a plate without dipping sauce. I had one that was lukewarm and another that was room temperature. The flavor was actually passable though to my palate, the oil that it was fried in needed changing. The Chinese food was somewhat better and there was more variety. They did have Won Ton Soup. I like to take just the Won Ton without the soup and then pour Hot and Sour Soup over it. The Won Ton skins were very thick. The Hot and Sour Soup was Hot and Sour. Pretty good. The Broccoli was good, not overcooked, not raw with a flavorful sauce. The Beef that was with it was highly tenderized which made it very chewable. While the texture isn't as good as a great cut of meat, I'd rather have the tenderized texture than a chewy piece of jerky. The best dish was the Catfish Fillet in Sauce. It was tender, delicate and delicious. The Siu Mai was okay. The deep fried potsticker was regretful. Get the Egg Roll that's vegetarian. It's much better than the three meat one which appears to have no veg in it. The Chow Mein was good. I regret that I didn't think to take any pictures of my plate. We didn't try the Mongolian BBQ. There wasn't anyone at the station when I walked by and if I wanted that style of cooking, I would try to find one that specialized in it. I didn't touch the salad bar but I did see some fixing as well as canned fruit such as Mandarin Oranges and Loongan. I found some peel and eat shrimp. They were huddled under ice. Small, probably in the 40 - 50 size and not split down the bac so they hadn't been cleaned. Pass. We also skipped the desserts. When we were first seated, the host asked if we'd like to order drinks. I asked for a Diet Cola and she asked for Hot Tea. I'm not sure if Diet drinks are measured the same as those with Corn Syrup but either the lines are dirty or the BRIX is off because the Diet Pepsi tasted odd. It didn't seem that it was low on syrup. The kicker was that her Hot Tea cost more than my Diet Pepsi. I'm guessing that dinner, $21.99 offeres more selection such as oysters and cold cracked crab. I hope that also improves the selection and quality of the sushi. Based on what we had, we will not be back. Upon paying, I asked an employee about the "For Sushi Chefs Only" tipping bowls. The Chefs and the waitstaff do not share tips. Use your own judgement on who deserves a tip basesd on the service that they provide you, and who doesn't. read more

Went to this place right in between lunch and dinner time. I loved the fact that they had an assortment of fresh sushi, and I love the idea of the sushi boats floating in front of you. However, I had a concern when I had seen a child reaching for plates openly and touched a plate but wasn't able to grab it in time (child was elementary age). I'm big on contamination, and I've seen other sushi spots that have lids covering the sushi plates that go around, which helps, especially when people are coughing. The buffet food has a good assortment but I felt that the food wasn't hot. Somewhere decently warm. Maybe it has to do with it being slower hours and them not having to replace the food as often. I felt the food could have been better. Otherwise the staff was very friendly. There's a lot of room for bigger parties. Lots of parking. Came here on a Sunday evening, the sushi boat bar was busy and we had to wait about 10-15 minutes for a spot to open. There maybe 10 or so different options rolling through on the boat, and they did a decent job keeping the boats full which was nice. I've had MUCH better sushi in the grab and go spot at grocery stores, so that's saying something. The buffet part was limited but had the basics- some soups, some appetizer options, rice and noodles etc. The ambiance was a bit strange, best spot is by the sushi boat bar, but the rest of the restaurant I honestly don't even know why it exists. The bathrooms are not taken care of, and we're worse than a rest stop bathroom on a busy holiday weekend. Great service. We tipped at the end before leaving. Waitress made sure to take empty plates out of our way and empty our seafood bucket. Lobster, snow crab, and prime ribs are great quality. I discovered the shrimp scampi station a few visits ago and it's my go to but this time I skipped it. While waiting for my turn, the young tall gentleman chef at the station turned around to use the white rag to wipe the stainless steel table by the faucet then he used it to wipe down the spatula in his hand. I loved it. We had a fun filled day jumping around and the kids place down the street in the same plaza. We saw this buffet and decided to stop here. Great decision because they had such a variety of food. We were here from Los Banos and had a doctor's appointment with the Skin Institute down the street, went to jump around for an hour, then ate to our hearts content and made the drive back home.
