It was nice to not have a pink house on moving day but it wasn't a color we would have selected, or was the quality of the paint job that particularly great. One day, I noticed a Brooks Painting sign go up across the street. They did a beautiful job in that house so I gave them a call and a day later Jon was over to assess our house and give us a quote and a few weeks later they were over scraping the peeling paint job from problem spots and painting our house navy with white trim I had been dreaming about since we moved in. For a pop of color we had them add coral doors, too. When I first saw it finished I had tears in my eyes. I loved it so so much. The next summer we decided to restain our deck so I reached back out to Jon and they came and power washed and restained our deck beautifully. We also needed a few boards replaced and they did that part, too. Both jobs were big so it wasn't cheap (we have a very large deck) but the price on both jobs was VERY reasonable given the amount of work and the quality of the job they provided. Communication was constant and we had a lovely relationship develop with them. I would 100% hire them again for future work and recommend them highly to anyone who needs painting or deck staining at their home.

Bad experience with this company. Tracy and he son came out for a job I had. Wanted to use a local…read morecompany and she sure did talk up her skills. After two days she wanted full payment on a job that wasn't even close to being done. My painter said it was the worst job he's ever seen for 3600 dollars. She told me that she was 100 percent done and she was happy with it so I should be also. Poor business owner because this customer is not happy with her work and my other contractors. Had to hire another company to fix all her work, what a mess. I would definitely get other quotes and I'm not gonna ever use her again.

My wife and I went into Dexter Cabinet & Countertop on a Saturday afternoon to get an estimate for…read morecabinets and counters for our new kitchen. It seemed like a nice place with some good options for cabinets and counters. Del was the only one there and helped answer a few questions for us, informing us that he was the "counter guy" and that Tim was not in that day to do our cabinet estimate. That was fine, Del took our information and kitchen details to leave for Tim to contact us with a cabinet estimate. Del seemed knowledgeable about counters and that he'd do a good job with our counter estimate once Tim could get our cabinets done. 5 days later after calling once and emailing Tim, we hadn't heard anything back. We just bought the house and the 3-4 week lead time for ordering cabinets is part of the critical path of our remodel. It has been over 2 weeks now and we haven't been contacted once. We clearly were either not a priority for them or they lost/ignored our request for an estimate. They get two stars because they seem like their product is good and other reviewers have claimed that they do good work. We wouldn't know since they wouldn't even get to the point of giving us an estimate for our business. Make sure to call ahead to ensure that Tim or Del is in before driving over there, don't rely on them to contact you.

Great job of pricing and installation; they worked patiently with every quirk we threw at them…read more They even arranged for a plumber, which too often is the customer's responsibility. The price seemed to not be out of line with the big box stores but the process at those stores was pretty convoluted while Dexter Cabinet put it into one nice package (although we decided to purchase a different faucet than the several good ones they offered in their package). After a couple go-rounds at Lowe's, we threw up our hands and went with the more "comfortable" (and LOCAL) Dexter Cabinet option. Glad we did. I would however recommend that potential customers take some responsibility for keeping the communication going. Contact them if you don't hear back when you expect to. That worked really well for us. This seems to be the way to work with most contractors, we've found.

We couldn't be happier with the basement remodel Steve and his team did for us. From day one, Steve…read morewas professional, easy to work with, and genuinely thoughtful about the whole process. He helped us work through a pretty complicated insurance situation with a lot of patience and clarity, which made a stressful process feel manageable. Once that was settled, he worked closely with us to design a space that truly fits how we live. It's now one of our favorite rooms in the house. What really stood out was how communicative and detail-oriented Steve was throughout the project. He didn't just show up and "do the job." He cared about the outcome and the craftsmanship behind every decision, big and small. He was responsive, hardworking, and didn't leave loose ends or unfinished details. The biggest differentiator, though, is that Steve actually enjoys custom work. Creative storage, layout challenges, statement features. He brings both design sense and practical building know-how, which is harder to find than you'd think. If you want more than a standard, cookie-cutter remodel and actually want something tailored to your space, Steve is the person to call. For the price, you get quality work and high integrity. We'd recommend Steve and his team without hesitation for projects big or small. Highly recommend if you're in the Lansing, South Lyon, Metro Detroit, or Ann Arbor areas.

No warning and no reason, I was left with only 1/2 of my home remodeled, while my family and I were stranded in a small rental home waiting to return. Spencer and his team came to the rescue. In a matter of a few days, his contractors were finishing projects and fixing several mistakes made by the previous carpenter. I was able to move back into our home on time without issue. The only word I can use to describe my experience with Tribble is bizarre…read more If you're comfortable paying a significant estimate only to have the company redo all their work and deal with disrespect from a man named Joey, then Tribble is the right choice for you. Rod was our project manager, and I've included images below to showcase the quality of his work. According to Joey, Rod is "the best they have," but the pictures tell a different story. The work was sloppy, careless, and far from what we were promised. When we reached out to Joey to address the poor quality of the work, we were gaslighted into believing this was what we had paid for. We were told we didn't read our contract properly, that it didn't include sanding the walls, and even threatened with collections. To top it off, Joey casually dismissed our concerns with the comment, "even a pickle can set a pregnant lady off." However, when Nick evaluated the work in person, he confirmed that the quality was poor and agreed that everything needed to be redone. We paid nearly $5,000 for this experience. According to Tribble, they "made it right" by returning to redo the work--but that required as much time as the original project. We had arranged for the work to be done while we were out of town for convenience, but we were still displaced for two extra days, turning a two-day project into a four-day ordeal. As a result, we overpaid for subpar work, are now a month and a half behind schedule, and have endured unnecessary stress and disrespect, all for something as simple as having our walls painted. I'm at a loss as to how they could possibly think they "made it right." The final result is decent, though there are areas with uneven texture where they had to fix previous mistakes. We were told this was the best they could do. Will was the only one to offer a genuine apology and made a kind effort to address the issues, but that doesn't undo the frustration we've experienced. This has been the most expensive headache I've ever created for myself. What was meant to simplify our lives during pregnancy has instead caused a level of stress I can't fully describe. I'm left questioning the validity of all the positive reviews--our experience was the complete opposite. We will be using a different company for our futures projects. If it goes well I will update my post with recommendations.
