Oh, and: He did all this for about half the price of almost all the other estimates. I can't recommend him more highly. Update to Complaint/Review HomeSpec Waterproofing and…read moreFoundation Repair I am writing to provide an update regarding my experience with HomeSpec Waterproofing. In 2024 I entered into a contract (which I paid cash for) with HomeSpec to have my basement waterproofed and a sump pump installed. Over the following two years my basement continued to take on water after heavy rainfalls. After multiple visits that yeilded no answers and a periood where communication stalled, I posted a negative review to express my frustration. Shortly after posting, HomeSpec reached out and sent a team back to my home. Thats when management representative Brian stepped in and took full accountability for finding the root cause. He used a practical methods to track the water flow, he placed paper towels around the perimeter to pinpoint the entry point and found it. After the next rain he had his crew to remove the drywall and insulation to expose the hidden leak. Once the leak was identified, the crew repaired the issue. As of 9/2/2026, HomeSpec has restored my basement by installing new insulation, putting up and painting new drywall as replacing my electrical fixtures in the area where there was water damage. While the overall process took a long time and required significant peristance to reach a solution, I want to extend my sincere appreciation to Brian for his professionalism, determination to making things right, Hopefully the issue is now resolved, and I will be monitoring the basement during upcoming rainfalls to ensure the fix remains permanent. I have to give credit where credit is due. Thank You Brian.

High strength epoxy injection was chosen since there had been no water leaks and both inductive and thermal imaging confirmed there was no moisture concern in any of the basement walls. Throughout the entire process HomeSpec were very professional and courteous, from their office staff through to the field technicians. The cracks were repaired proficiently and the work site was well cleaned and all debris removed before departing. Overall 5 stars.

Dave Bongero was a pleasure to work with, he was honest and respectful of my wants and needs of the project when he quoted it. My job was not for the average company, it was truly a job for a construction crew that was ready to handle any surprises if need be. I had several construction companies come out to give me a quote, and some were so ridiculous that I believe that they just weren't up for the job... I have a unique older home, and I knew I needed a knowledgeable and experienced crew that would not freak out if something went wrong, and overcharge me if it did. Gary Bongero's penitence and skill got us through some crazy unfortunate problems that happen sometimes. These unexpected issues scared the heck out of me and being a woman you can only imagine my emotions flaring LOL. Gary's calming words and solutions made me trust his ideas and conclusions to handle the problem. This long-time family-owned company takes so much pride in their work, from their professionalism, common sense, and true understanding of what you need, and what they do is truly uncommon these days. I know that Bongero's can do any job, and the BEST part is you can trust them... I LOVE family-owned companies, and especially this one - Not only the crew but the exceptional young lady named Alexa who handles all the business details at the office

Dominic did a complete inspection before telling us our options. He walked around on the roof and took photos. He did not try to talk us into any upgrades, but we decided since the roof was old, we'd ask for the shingles and any decking to be repaired. We decided we wanted the medium excellence option. We also asked for attic blown-in insulation, new gutters, and gutter shields. Dominic told us they'd put in some attic vents. In the end, they took it down to the rafters! As we had to be away when they started, Dominic was in touch with us on the phone or by email every step of the way, and answered every question. Roof Advance gave our little old house the boost it needed! It looks great, and, we have peace of mind knowing that we won't have to climb up to clean the gutters any more. They even gave us a senior discount, which we were not expecting. Their requested deposit wasn't a lot of money. They have an easy way to pay by e-check, or by credit card online. Highly recommended!

We compared with several different companies and decided with John McCarter and I am glad we did. Our experience started with Clyde, who really did win this deal for them. He was the ONLY one who brought us any kind of mock up for our house, offered design suggestions, and even gave us advice for our roof for a future project. I highly suggest you ask for him. He explained the entire project and how it would work. Next we worked with James, who did final field measures. And double crossed the t's and dotted the i's to make sure everything was exactly what we wanted before they ordered. We very much appreciated this. While we were working with James, we had an attic inspection done by Jim who caught a leak in our attic! So added bonus, always better to find that sooner. When you have a project this large, things ARE GOING to go wrong. The important thing is how does the company handle things when they go wrong. And I can give nothing but the highest praise to this company and specifically our Project Manager John Giese in this regard. He always got in front of every issue, quickly communicated everything and kept the project on track The job is split into separate crews, Vas was the Forman for the actual siding. And to this day I can't believe how fast and efficient his crew was. The gutter team of Hunter, Aubrey, and Jason were quick and offered great guidance! Helped us consolidate a downspout! One less for me to step on! Tony came out and quickly fixed our before mentioned attic leak. Dan and Josh took fantastic care of us when installing all our doors.
