In a few cases I saw them redo something that just didn't look perfect. The crew did a wonderful job of cleaning up before they left. My new backsplash looks SPECTACULAR. Since Matthew and his crew did an excellent job of installing the tile in our kitchen, we wanted to see if they could assist with white washing the stone on the exterior of our home. We searched for someone to do what we thought was a simple leak repair in our master bath and called 6 contractor only one called back and he would not even tell us when he could start. All he was interest was what our budget was Know Howe Title was recommended and I left a message. 20 minutes later Matthew called back. He said what we we asking could be involved until he saw what the prior contractor did and what was causing the leak. From the start we knew we had a pro. He spent a lot of time looking at where the leak was coming from and everything he said made a lot of sense. He felt replacing the shower floor was the best approach since the leak was under the tile near the drain. We decided doing this it was better to do it right and replace the walls at the same time. He gave us a price and time table. We we very please with the detail and he really appeared to be a pro. We wanted other quotes and he never pressured us. We called several other contractors and we were convinced he would do the best job. His people showed up on time and were extremely neat and professional. Everything about the job was more than we could hope for. He was a great help selecting tile and did a number of extra things because he said it would make the job look better. He never charged a penny extra and even installed the new toilet and valve for free when the other contractor quoted a long list of extras. Professional staff, quality craftsmanship, excellent customer service, competitive pricing are all adjectives that describe my experience. I was looking for a backsplash and a couple shower boxes to improve two bathrooms in my house. I contacted multiple tile contractors in the local San Diego area. Few took the time to come out and give an estimate, in particular, two other contractors didn't even attempt to work with me or give an estimate on the shower boxes I wanted installed. Know Howe tile was a complete 180° right from the start. The owner Matt personally came to my house for an estimate. He took the time to explain some of the difficulties and challenges with the envisioned job that I wanted to accomplish. However, he had a great attitude and a "Can do" approach which made it easy to come up with a plan on how to most effectively complete the job. His estimate was very reasonable and ended up being highly accurate once the job was completed. Matt and his team did a great job being flexible and working around my schedule, since I was doing a lot of traveling at the time of the job. Matt effectively juggled multiple jobs during the week of my install. He provided oversight to his team members at the appropriate integral moments throughout the job, while also depending on their experience and ability to work independently. Matt's team was super courteous, professional, and were extremely hard workers. Throughout the tile install they had great attention to detail and made sure to include me in any decisions when they had questions. Please read the updated review at the bottom. My husband already wrote a review but I need to come on here and add a couple things. I really liked Matt, he seems like a honest kind person and was quick to come out and discuss what we wanted to have done. We talked about what I wanted and he said sure ok and sent me a quote within a day. The demo crew was quick and I wish they had lined the tub before but this was our first bathroom job and maybe that's something you do yourself our tub was clogged after- Now we know. The crew did leave dirt handprints smeared all down the halls that we had painted that week so lesson number two is if you demo do it before you paint. The guy who came to tile was nice too, but he obviously hadn't communicated with Matt about what needed to be done. None of the discussed flat shelves were put in, and he had to remove some of the tile he had done and stick in a fat porcelain one from Home Depot and retile. The tiles themselves were cut with a dull blade so the edges were ragged and the grout job looked fine initially but on my first shower I noticed pieces missing and tile misaligned (pictures for detail). I was really disappointed, since normally we do our work ourselves and were springing for someone professional to do a professional job. The grout was dark and stained our walls and door and even our bedroom carpet where apparently you mix grout for the master bathroom. We contacted Matt to see if we could have someone come fix it- as now two months later the grout is CRUMBLING with no response. Really really disappointed with this experience. Update: Matt reached out to us before the holidays and personally came out to review the prior job and was apologetic and quick to come back himself and fix all the gaps in the grout, pull away any jagged tiles and smooth and then replace tile in a straight way. He also touched up and painted all the grout stains in the wall and chips from the ceiling. The bathroom looks much better now. read more

Our condo floors were old and worn. Part big, ugly, white tile with big nasty grout lines and part old worn laminate that looked like it had been there since 1977. Enough was enough. I attempted briefly to replace our floors myself but after two days of breaking up tile with a sledge hammer and taking a sharp piece of tile traveling at 90 MPH to the forehead decided that wasn't such a great idea. I found Matt Howe from Know Howe Tile online and after checking out the reviews gave him a call. As it turned out he happened to be in the area so he came by and listened carefully as I described how much I hated our floors, especially now that I had created such a mess. We told him we wanted to replace what we had with ceramic tile planks that look like wood but are much stronger and resistant to warping and scratching. He was very personable and assured me it wouldn't be a problem and that he had a great team who he's been working with for many years ready to give us what we wanted. Just got Granite put in my kitchen and it came out so beautiful! The owner, Matt, was amazing! He came out and gave my a very reasonable estimate and answered all of my questions(I had alot) since I had never had granite countertops before.
