We worked with Christy and the Floor Store team to get a quote for stairs & carpet in our subterranean space to replace old carpet that had really become worn over the years. Second job by Floor Store. After they had done the majority of my house, I was left with a very ugly front room. Floor Store came and demoed out my columns, the travertine floor, and replaced it with the same floor that was in the rest of the house, flowing seamlessly. This is a 23 year old house and people who come here think it's brand new. This was a circular room, and had to blend with the existing flooring and the hallways. As you can see the workmanship was excellent.. As always, this company is a delight to work with, with fair prices and outstanding customer service, which makes the whole process a pleasure. These guys are awesome! We had a slab leak which resulted in removing the drywall, weeks of mitigation to remove the moisture and the wood flooring had to be all removed throughout. Super thrilled with Encinitas Flooring Store - it's been extremely difficult to get any contractor to respond and if they do, then it's difficult to get a quote, and even harder to get them to show up! From the design store all the way to the finish line, we were happy with this company. The owner did the measuring and when he came out to the house he found the exact match to our current floors so that everything now looks seamless. We scheduled months in advance and had a small window of time for the work to be complete - this crew made it happen! They stayed late, until 9 PM to meet our deadline. The next morning they showed up to tidy up and finish caulking. They cleaned up as they went and were extremely polite. I had such an amazing experience with the Floor Store in Encinitas. They were helpful in the store and when I found the flooring I liked I was able to have it installed within a few weeks. The installers worked so hard and finished the job in 1 1/2 days instead of 3-4. Unfortunately, I chipped the floor board within a week or two and David, came and fixed it for free (he was awesome!). We did a remodel of both of our bathrooms and used the floor store to select and install the floor and wall tile. I wouldn't say Mike ( the owner) is the most communicative/social person but his team and service is impeccable. The entire process was not perfect, but what little issues did occur (not all the floor store's fault) Mike and his team went the extra mile to make right. Here are some highlights: 1) The design team in the store front were very patient and helpful in selecting the final product. No matter how often my wife changed her mind, they were always there to help her make a decision she would love. 2) Gil (tile installer) is AMAZING. He takes an exceptional amount of pride in his work and it shows. During the early stages of the install I told him I have had issues with water pooling around the tub and wanted to ensure it did not happen again. Later in the install he showed me all the special cuts he made to ensure water did not pool and minimized the amount of water that could reach the wallboard. There were also a number of small decisions to be made and instead of assuming he took the time to explain to me the options and allowed me to make the choice. Look at other reviews and you will see I am not the only one saying Gil is a true artisan! 3). The place where they really earned their 5 stars was when I made the mistake of forgetting to install some insulation before the wallboard was installed. Gil originally told me that it would be rather difficult and time consuming to fix. I said ok and accepted my mistake. The next day he was a little late to the job. I later learned that Mike learned about the issue and had Gil go pick up insulation, pull out the wallboard and install it! I was floored! Thank you Mike, Gill and team for an amazing job! read more
