When we needed new carpeting I knew exactly where to go! They did all of our floors many years ago and they stand behind all that they do. The owners are the best and they have amazing installers that care as much as the owners. I was having a hard time trying to decide how to update our stairs. The carpet is "runner style" and all of the staff was amazing at providing design choices. The install on runner and working around the wood is not easy and can look bad if not done well. Reach out to Rebecca and Mike if you need floors! Carpet, wood, ...they don't all very well. We have been a customer for over 7 years now. read more

The floor store team did an outstanding job of giving our townhome some stunning new wood floors and great quality carpet - the place looks like a designer at Mc Ghee studios did it after they were done - so beautiful! Everyone who sees their work on our Carlsbad townhome is loving the new look. Wow, Mike, Rebecca and their entire staff were so great to work with. We had existing tile, engineered wood and some carpet to be removed before installing Karastan wood laminate throughout this large house. Furniture had to be moved and we had to live in the house at the same time. The foreman, Juan was so good at communicating and pleasant to work with. The crew was efficient , clean and respectful. We couldn't be more pleased and I highly recommend them. Thanks Floor Store! read more

Went in based on the glowing reviews. One person working. Waited 20 minutes with zero help because she was listening to the life story of another customer. Left. How do they plan to do any business with one person working on a weekend? read more

I just worked with Mike and the Floor Store team for a 2nd installation. Although this project was a lot smaller than the first project years ago, they offered me the same detailed service. From working with me on matching a color for flooring and offering suggestions on floor type. The team really worked with me on the details. Also, the installers are real pros. Moved furniture and leveled floor perfectly. They even went so far as using a shelf from the closet to match the trim of the floor in that space. Which was their suggestion! I'm already planning on working with them on a 3rd project at my father's home! read more

I own a rental condo in Carlsbad and after 8 years, my tenant purchased a new condo and moved out. This gave me the opportunity to have new floors installed so I scheduled a date to have the floors installed by Floor Store. My tenant took longer than expected to close escrow with changing closing dates. This caused many delays with the installation. Joe McDonnough from Floor Store went above and beyond working with me to finally get the job done. Thank you, Joe McDonnough, for the proactive professional job of coordinating this job. read more

We recently wanted to have our hardwood floors in the kitchen refinished and we selected Encinitas Flooring Store & Design Center. Here is what we liked: - Very responsive...quick to come over to provide a quote and able to do the work within a reasonable timeframe. Good pricing for the job. - Got the job done efficiently and effectively. - We're very pleased with the results (see the pictures, as they speak for themselves). Bottom line: We would recommend these folks and would use them again! read more

We worked with Christy and the Floor Store team to get a quote for stairs & carpet in our subterranean space to replace old carpet that had really become worn over the years. They were able to quote us the project both as a combo and as separate projects. Due to our schedules, we decided to do them separately. We're super happy with how the stairs have turned out -- and Julio, the installer, was very communicative and thorough in his work. He even took the time to pick specific pieces of wood to get the 'closest' match to the next floors wood. Well done! We're looking forward to part two of our project with new carpet in the full downstairs. read more

Joe and his install team were wonderful to work with. We had challenges (last minute flooring change after tariff madness delayed shipment of our original selection) and they calmly helped us work through it all. The quality of the work is fantastic and we'd recommend them to anyone. read more

No follow thru on the problem of uneven vinyl floor they installed. I finally got tired of calling and gave up. Not happy with the service.

The Floor Store is the place to go for floors ... and more! We had an excellent experience replacing our flooring with very real-looking wood-plank vinyl tile. What's more, Joe McDonough helped coordinate the change-out of our shower tub to a walk-in shower. This place is actually cheaper than Costco, and better, since we had had Costco also bid on the project. We are extremely pleased and highly recommend this establishment for flooring needs. read more

Could not be happier with our new flooring and the level of customer care. We were able to schedule our job right away and they were quick and accommodating to our schedule. Second job by Floor Store. After they had done the majority of my house, I was left with a very ugly front room. Floor Store came and demoed out my columns, the travertine floor, and replaced it with the same floor that was in the rest of the house, flowing seamlessly. This is a 23 year old house and people who come here think it's brand new. This was a circular room, and had to blend with the existing flooring and the hallways. As you can see the workmanship was excellent.. As always, this company is a delight to work with, with fair prices and outstanding customer service, which makes the whole process a pleasure. I can't recommend them highly enough. read more

These guys are awesome! We had a slab leak which resulted in removing the drywall, weeks of mitigation to remove the moisture and the wood flooring had to be all removed throughout. We didn't know where to start but luckily found Floor Store and Design, Encinitas. They provided a drywall installer, painter and an excellent floor installation team. We highly recommend Floor Store and Design in Encinitas, without reservation, for any kind of floor work. Their work was stellar--thank you to Mike, Rebecca and Juan! John and Susan K read more

Super thrilled with Encinitas Flooring Store - it's been extremely difficult to get any contractor to respond and if they do, then it's difficult to get a quote, and even harder to get them to show up! From the design store all the way to the finish line, we were happy with this company. The owner did the measuring and when he came out to the house he found the exact match to our current floors so that everything now looks seamless. We scheduled months in advance and had a small window of time for the work to be complete - this crew made it happen! They stayed late, until 9 PM to meet our deadline. The next morning they showed up to tidy up and finish caulking. They cleaned up as they went and were extremely polite. We would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for flooring and a great experience! read more

Mike is fantastic to work with. Efficient, friendly, great turn around time. Locally owned north county business. 100% recommend.

Great experience all around. Rebecca was especially helpful not only in selecting floors but also during the install process. We had a vinyl install gone wrong 2 years ago with another company and Mike and Rebecca came to the rescue. We opted for hardwood this time and also put commercial carpet in our workout room. I especially liked that they own the flooring store and also do install. Others we looked into installed only and referred us to separate stores to shop for flooring. This was a turnkey project and would definitely use them again. read more

I had such an amazing experience with the Floor Store in Encinitas. They were helpful in the store and when I found the flooring I liked I was able to have it installed within a few weeks. The installers worked so hard and finished the job in 1 1/2 days instead of 3-4. Unfortunately, I chipped the floor board within a week or two and David, came and fixed it for free (he was awesome!). Everyone was so accommodating, professional, and friendly. I'll be back next year to do my loft! Highly recommend them! read more

Great prices and service! Not only did they do an incredible job on my install (and process through selections) but when I accidentally damaged some boards, they gave me a fair quote to repair my own damage. I had to delay our start date several times. Floor Store was very understanding and provided a new installation date that worked best for us. Once the job began, everyone was professional and although there were a few glitches in our project, Mike and Rebecca went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied. They answered all of my questions and the job was finished a day early. Their attention to detail is superlative so I was not surprised at how beautiful the finished product looks. They also replaced the tile around our fireplace and the transition from tile to flooring is as smooth as if there were not a change in materials. I highly recommend Floor Store!! read more

We worked with Rebecca to add new carpet and baseboards to two bedrooms and a closet. The carpet product is beautiful and well-priced. Rebecca let us take samples home to pick out the carpet. Getting our spaces measured happened within days, very efficiently. The quote was accurate. Scheduling for installation was easy, and the installation team did great work. Thrilled with our new carpet, and will definitely go back to see this business when we are ready for new wood floors next year. read more

Floor store installed all our flooring in a 3 bedroom rental that we were completely renovating. They were extremely helpful in helping me choose the right products that would be durable for a rental. We ended up choosing Coretec for all the main areas and carpet for the bedrooms. Being an upper floor unit in an older building, we did have issues where the floor was not level but their installers quickly got this remedied. Mike and Rebecca were a pleasure to work with. We will definitely use them again for future projects. read more

Encinitas Floor Store and Design Center came to the rescue and re-did our floors after an unfortunate house flood. They were so professional, responsive and cost effective!! They got an amazing price on the flooring we wanted (which was cheaper than the wholesale quote we got). Our new flooring was an upgrade to what we had previously and we couldn't be happier. Christy was an amazing coordinator, keeping everything on track while I was in the midst of insurance claim chaos. Her compassion and professionalism was so helpful through that trying (and emotional) time... and the entire floor team was fast, efficient and did an amazing job that exceeded our expectations. We could not be happier with our flooring. They suggested things we wouldn't have even thought of and made the beautiful hardwood flooring seamless throughout our home. I would highly suggest them for any flooring needs you have. Stellar experience in through & through. read more

We did a remodel of both of our bathrooms and used the floor store to select and install the floor and wall tile. I wouldn't say Mike ( the owner) is the most communicative/social person but his team and service is impeccable. The entire process was not perfect, but what little issues did occur (not all the floor store's fault) Mike and his team went the extra mile to make right. Here are some highlights: 1) The design team in the store front were very patient and helpful in selecting the final product. No matter how often my wife changed her mind, they were always there to help her make a decision she would love. 2) Gil (tile installer) is AMAZING. He takes an exceptional amount of pride in his work and it shows. During the early stages of the install I told him I have had issues with water pooling around the tub and wanted to ensure it did not happen again. Later in the install he showed me all the special cuts he made to ensure water did not pool and minimized the amount of water that could reach the wallboard. There were also a number of small decisions to be made and instead of assuming he took the time to explain to me the options and allowed me to make the choice. Look at other reviews and you will see I am not the only one saying Gil is a true artisan! 3). The place where they really earned their 5 stars was when I made the mistake of forgetting to install some insulation before the wallboard was installed. Gil originally told me that it would be rather difficult and time consuming to fix. I said ok and accepted my mistake. The next day he was a little late to the job. I later learned that Mike learned about the issue and had Gil go pick up insulation, pull out the wallboard and install it! I was floored! Thank you Mike, Gill and team for an amazing job! read more
