Went in for breakfast and ordered the Chunky Cinnamon French Toast and to my surprise it comes with unlimited refills. I didn't see this advertised anywhere, unless I missed it but learned of that when I asked what the difference was between this and the kids French toast option. The meal starts with two pieces of French toast and the most delicious syrup m and whipped cream with strawberries. The only thing that could have made it better was extra strawberries. My kids are super picky and ate this without hesitation. There were also several samples when you walk in and the lemon poppyseed bread and brownie were phenomenal. What in the devils hell is going on with this bakery!!! Prices continue to climb, climb and climb. And portions have been cut by 30-50%!!! Absolutely awful!!! Awful!!! Walking into this place makes you hungry for everything! There are so many wonderful holiday aromas once you walk in! Near the cash register there are samples you can try. They also have a nice eating areas indoors and outdoors. You won't go wrong in anything you order to eat here. They have breakfast sandwiches that are great... ham, egg and cheese croissants are a must try. Plus big kudos to the staff. True confession- I was not going to review my experience here but our whole group was so impressed with the gal working, Alecia. Wow she was so fast, friendly and efficient. The place was busy and she managed it well. My sandwich was delicious! I had sausage egg and cheese on honey wheat bread. I believe my husband and I have given Kneaders multiple tries over many years now before deciding to downgrade our rating to 2 stars. The food overall is ok but the price for what we are getting it is not justified in our opinion. We stopped by the drive-thru a few weeks ago to order chocolate and almond croissants. They were completely out of them. We asked if they normally have cheese croissants and the lady taking our order said no but they will make us a cheese melt in a croissant. We appreciated that and thought, sure why not! And then we asked if they had any other croissants and she said, only raspberry so we decided to try one. We waited quite a bit in the car, while the car in front of us got their order and then we had to wait for our food as well. For 3 croissants, we paid $26! I am not sure why they are so expensive! When we got home, the cheese croissants looked sad. Basically pressed croissants with cold melted cheese inside. Did they taste good? Yes but I wouldn't pay this much for what we got for sure! This place is really a hit or miss, all the time. You may or may not find what you're looking to order, you may or may not get your order right, and you may or may not get good quality food at the end. Only because this store was on my way home, I stopped in to buy 6 cookies because I had people coming over that evening and I wanted a few cookies. I chose 2 cookies from 3 different flavors. Lovely! Disgusting food, toddlers meal for 8 dollars was literally dried up old bread a piece of ham and American cheese thrown in a bag all sloppy. I have been going to Kneaders on occasion over the years. Their sandwiches and soups are relatively good. The "scrumptious" looking baked goods that are on full display for hungry customers are not. They are very bland and usually dry. I wonder if they put hardly any salt, sugar, butter, or flavoring extracts in them. Probably very little. I have NEVER had one that tasted great. And I've tried them all - cookies, sweet rolls, brownies, pies, ect. So sad. read more

To preface, I did come on Pi day which offered $2 off pie slices with entree purchase, but was saddened that their supplies weren't being replenished as it was only noon and options were a bit scarce so I went with the tart. However, the tart was delicious and the pie did not disappoint. Another thing I noticed was my salad included cashews and cilantro, but I wasn't served any and our meals were served with only plasticware. Desserts were also served on paper plates. Overall, the meal was yummy but I wouldn't make a special return any time soon. Some positive notes I did notice they served my salad in a to go box and they were happy to let me try two dressings. This location also has a neat local merchants area/crafting counter (I'm not sure if it was just for deco) and a fireplace which was cozy. There is absolutely nothing on this menu that cannot be ordered at some other sandwich shop. At 5:30pm on a Friday, there were 3 loaves of bread on the shelf and hardly any other baked desserts. This was such a disappointing experience, it's not worth tying to come back. If this was a one time thing, it would be different. This seems to happen each time I try this place. Came yesterday for cookies, and some other desserts and they were out. Randomly we are back today for dinner, and they are out of 2/3 of their breads. Focaccia French and baguettes just to name a few. A number in our group decided not to eat here and go somewhere else. I feel like this place is really going downhill. Ordered breakfast and bread through the drive thru. Made the mistake of not checking the bag before I left. Got home and we were missing a cinnamon roll. Ordered the kids French toast. It was burnt and there was no syrup with it. Also got the chunky cinnamon bread and it doesn't look close to what they used to sell. This location has gone downhill fast. They weren't busy so I'm not sure why everything was so bad. I gave them 1 star because the Italian omelette was okay. Hate to see this location fail. read more

Always check your order before leaving - got home to find out baguette was left out and wrong salad dressing (one I am allergic to) so paid alot a $$ for a mediocre salad. I just took it off and ate it, because it's not unacceptable in my book. It happens, we all shed. I never raise a fit when I find hair in my food in other restaurants. But then to make my experience worse, I found a smudge of mayonnaise in my supposedly fresh salad. It's obvious it came out of somebody's sandwich, or whatever it may have come from, I just completely lost my appetite. Busy all day Monday didn't get a chance to eat. So around 4:30pm on a Monday we stopped into Kneaders on McDowell Road in Mesa. The wait time was short and our order quickly taken. I got the beef au jus sandwich and my wife got a club sandwich. We also ordered a bowl of broccoli cheddar soup (it was raining outside). If I could give this place '0' stars, I would. When we got here at 8:20 am on a Saturday morning we were slightly surprised to see an empty parking lot but happy to know we wouldn't have to wait long for breakfast. Wrong. When we walked into the restaurant, there was only one couple sitting on the patio who had just been served coffee. The dining room was empty and we placed our order. A couple omelettes, the pancakes, french toast, a BLT, ice coffee, drip coffee and two smoothies. After waiting at the table for 30 minutes I walked up and asked what was taking so long. That's when I realized only three people were working in the restaurant. She said it would be out shortly. 5 min later they brought out the omelettes, French toast and pancakes. No coffee. missing the BLT and the smoothies. 10 min later after I had to walk up again, they brought out the BLT, one smoothie, and the coffee. No straws or silverware. 5 min later after another trip up front we got the last smoothie and straws. All the food was at a luke warm temp and lacked flavor. We will never be back. Ever. read more

Used to love Kneaders and actually eat there often. However, in the last year or so, that has changed. Every time my husband or I go in, the service is slow, or the food is just "ok". It never used to be just "ok". Yet, I am still hopeful that each time we go now, it will be better. So. Let. Down. Last night, being sick with a cold, I was thinking of something we could eat that would be hearty, maybe somewhere with decent soup. I actually forgot about this Kneaders since we haven't been in so long. However, the lightbulb in my head went off as I remembered our long lost love for Kneaders. . . I hesitated at first because I thought "Wait, they're expensive and haven't been worth it the past few times." But, wanting so badly to have the yummy soup and sandwiches they used to make, I decided to ask my husband to pick up dinner from Kneaders and give it another chance. It had been awhile, so maybe they had improved. Kneaders is about a 2 minute drive from our house. My husband called me after getting there and finding out the soups of the day. I really used to love the cream of broccoli, which was luckily listed for being on the menu that night along with creamy basil tomato. I told him I would be fine either of those (secretly hoping he would come home with cream or broccoli, but would be okay with the tomato soup as well). After about 30 minutes of waiting at home, I was about to call him to find out if everything was okay. This place is literally so close we could walk there and he was just picking up food to go. What was taking so long? As soon as I was about to call, he walked through the door with our food, announcing that they were out of cream of broccoli for the night so he had to get us tomato soup. He also told me that they were out of focaccia bread that normally comes on my favorite sandwich - the turkey artichoke, so he had to order a different type of bread to he put on it instead. Bummer. When we sampled the tomato soup, it was so bland and watery. Needed more salt maybe? Ugh, I was so disappointed. My husband also informed me that they were not busy, and that there had been only 1 person in front of him in line so he wasn't sure why it had taken nearly 30 minutes to get his order together. All in all, for the price of Kneaders, we were once again let down. I hope this location can get these things worked out, because we used to love this place. It used to actually be worth the price! Now, it seems to be a letdown each time. Pay a decent amount to not get what you want because they are out or don't make it right. I guess it's time to forget Kneaders again for awhile. . . The only reason I am giving 3 stars is because they did load my sandwich with toppings and sauce that normally they have been skimping on. I'd say that's an improvement, but this location has a LOT of work to do to earn 5 stars! read more
