My wife and I were out running errands and she mentioned wanting to go to Costco. Since we were just there 2 days earlier, I asked what we forgot. She said nothing, but she really wanted one of their smoothies. I mentioned that there had to be a smoothie place closer than Costco. Being that we were at Fry's on Signal Butte & Guadalupe I merely had to look up, and there it was, Tropical Smoothie Cafe. I asked her if she would be willing to give it a try. Looking inside it reminded me of a Subway. Basically a long counter with a few tables and a massive menu on the wall. With 4 employees in sight and only us and a few customers already enjoying their food we were quickly greeted. The smoothie portion of the menu was not very extensive so she easily decided with a little input from the staff. She opted for the first smoothie on the menu, a mixed berry, mango, fruit smoothie. $10 and a few seconds later she was handed a larger than expected smoothie. I would guess that it was more than twice the size of a Costco smoothie. We took it to-go since the seating did not look very comfortable to her. The taste-test was a little disappointing. Apparently, the fruit to ice ratio is lower than what she usually has at Costco. It wasn't bad, just less satisfying than the Costco ratio. This also resulted in her being able to completely finish it when she struggles to finish the Costco smoothie- more water/less filling. We likely won't go back, more based on the lack of value. The ingredients are premium, but under the current economic conditions it is hard to swallow a $10 smoothie. read more

Back in East Mesa. Decided to try somewhere new to us. Tropical Smoothie Cafe is small and very clean. I got the Caribbean Jerk Chicken wrap, snickerdoodle cookie, and a peach slip smoothie (think that's the name... peach, strawberry, and banana). My better half got chicken caprise sandwich and mango smoothie. The Caribbean Jerk chicken wrap was tasty, tender, with black beans, pineapple salsa, jerk chicken sauce (it has some good kick... so if you can't handle spice stay away from this lol). Very good. It was big enough that I couldn't finish it. The snickerdoodle was soft and very tasty. The smoothie, with Splenda subbed in, was excellent. Not too sweet, not a bunch of trendy junk in it... just a good fruit smoothly. Her sandwich was also decent sized and she loved it. It has pesto, mozzarella, tomato, and chicken. The chicken was tender as well. Her mango smoothie was also delicious without being overly sweet! There is not much seating for families, so I recommend getting it to go. We will be back, especially being the good was about $10 each including everything. Not bad at all! read more

The staff working on 10/20/23 at 8:30pm were absurdly rude and unpleasant, we called on 30 minutes before close greeted them hello with no response back. The girl that made our smoothies and food threw it on the counter and walked off. They closed 10 minutes early and on top of all I left my phone behind and when i ran up to the door at 8:48 the light were shut off and they didn't want to open the door for me to grab it from the counter thinking I was going to order more food. stay away or get better employees. read more

I hadn't had Tropical Smoothie Café in several years, and suddenly the other day I was craving a delicious, cold smoothie. My fiancé and I went to go pick up a couple of smoothies and I also got the Asian chicken salad wrap. The smoothies were as delicious as I remembered from all those years ago. The wrap was refreshing, the chicken was warm, and I really enjoyed it. This is pretty close to the new house so he just bought, so we will be back soon! read more

Had the detox island green mango smoothie for lunch and it was really delicious! The smoothie consistency was perfect and the taste was sweet but with tiny hint of ginger. I added all kinds of extra boosters and it was so good. I paired the smoothie with a thai salad. The thai salad was good as well but smaller than I expected. It was a little smaller than a wendys full salad for a similiar price but it was still good. If getting a salad definitely pair it with a sandwich or chips or smoothie. We've been going here the last few months for smoothies for dinner lol They have banana free options which is nice for me, haven't tried the food yet but it looks and smells good when I go in the store. Came here with my daughter and niece. Haven't been to a Tropical Smoothie in over 10 years. I asked the Server: Souy T if they had a drink called "mango magic". Her and her co-worker were smirking at me and laughing because I wasn't sure how to order it because I didn't know you can't get it in a kids size. Then proceeded to have an attitude when I asked for just a strawberry smoothie. It's sad that places hire people with such little respect. Definitely will not go back to this location. read more

I'm disgusted to have ordered a smoothie that doesn't state has any added sugar. The only ingredients listed anywhere (website, store, app) do not contain anything but pineapple, banana and kale/spinach but the nutrition facts sheet states that it has 88g sugar and turbinado added (which is not clear on their menu; this is on a separate web page for their nutrition facts) read more

I used to work for tropical smoothie a while ago up in scottsdale and that place was poorly owned and poorly managed to the point that nothing was getting ordered on time and there was only one person working during lunch rush and it was terrible. I've noticed it with the other locations owned by that owner(power and baseline). This location is the complete opposite different owner and it's what the true tropical smoothie experience is supposed to be the smoothies taste right they aren't watered down or too icee the food is the way it's supposed to be. It's nice because this is the only location I've been to that's been what it's supposed to be! Love this location, I drive an extra 10 minutes to come here read more

At first, it looked a cute little shop sorta like Jamba Juice. But, upon walking in a girl literally was shocked and they ran out of smoothies (ice to be specific). After everybody ordered, I was first in like but received my smoothie and food last. The smoothie low key hits, 7.5/10. The food... no comment. I asked for a avocado grilled cheese, but received what tasted and looked like refried beans with spinach and some weird fake bacon. The bread was soggy, and not even toasted. I asked my others friends about their experience (we went together). One said the pesto panini was good (I highly doubt it). As we ate, we received OFF BRAND CHIPS!!!! All we wanted was our lays and they gave us the wrong chips and didn't even give us the ones we asked for. Poor experience. Do not recommend, they were stressed and showed it to the customers. Came here for the first time today. The store is really cute and very clean! The employee helping me was very friendly and recommended several smoothies. I got the Blueberry, Banana and Strawberry smoothie and they made it incredibly fast and it was delicious! The smoothies aren't super cheap but they are big and very filling. I can no longer go to the tropical smoothie on Power, because the smoothies taste horrible and service is ridiculously slow and the San tan location is inconveniently far.
