Service 5/5 Excellent, seated quickly, coffee came quickly and service throughout the meal was timely, Well done! Food 5/5 My pick of the day was an order that included two eggs over easy, biscuit and gravy with country fried potatoes. Classic country breakfast. Also had an order of their Cinnamon glazed French toast for investigative purposes; took one for the team! After a liberal painting of the potato's and eggs with Chiluba hot sauce it was time for chow. Everything was cooked perfectly and was delicious. The French Toast was amazing and I recommend trying it. Simple delicious Henhouse Cafe food my friends-SYOY!

Glad the food is as good as I remember it.

The toy rotation keeps my kids occupied when we are there and excited to swing in for an amazing coffee (IN A REAL MUG) and my favorite (the one and only) breakfast pizza. Villa Meola has become the safe haven of my mom friends and mine. A refuge of sorts where our kids can be kids and we can breath easy as we are reminded they have not just a right to be in the public, but are wanted there. The toys are so creatively organized with wall hangings and baskets. Recently, we have been invited to a birthday celebration and even had a small one of our own and Villa Meola hung a simple banner that really made us feel so welcome. They are getting so inventive with both the food and drink while sticking to their strict clean and simple/ minimal ingredient food standards with their authentic Italian tastes. While we were checked on as needed at the beginning and middle or our meal, there was a bit of a lag towards the end when we needed our check. The decor is super modern, and I love the logo and how it includes a bike for the two "o" in the name. :) My group and I got the Kahi & Kemer and the Arabic Way set meal. The Arabic Way provided a lot of "dips" that you can use for your bread. I wasn't blown away by the dips to be honest, and the sausage/egg dish was good, although I felt like something I could easily make at home. I would have preferred to eat the shakshuka instead, and would try that next time. The Kahi & Kemer? I would order 100000 of these. I LOVED IT. It's basically a super soft bread that you dip in syrup and clotted cream. SO GOOD. It was basically a sugary breakfast, but really hit the spot. Next time, I'd order this dish again with a shakshuka and maybe one more item. Overall, I would definitely come back and give them another shot, if not for a meal then to just get my sweet treat indulgence in.

Wow! This place went down. Stopped by on Tuesday with mom to have coffee and a baguette sandwich…read more That's our usual breakfast when we go out. The place was a chaos. The service people were trying to take orders, attending tables, helping customers to pick out pastries, all at the same time. Then they were bringing out food running around, trying to find the right table, and after failing to do so, would bring food back to the kitchen. It was 3 of them, running around, getting all confused. And it was only 1 person in the kitchen??? I've never seen anything like that before. The place gave me anxiety. And it wasn't even busy that day. It was Tuesday morning for crying out loud. I hate to think what's happening there over weekends! My order got completely screwed up. I got charged for two sponge cakes, instead of one. The baguette that they brought to the table 30 min later, was tiny, look like half baguette, when I ordered full baguette so we could split it with my mother. I know what full baguette supposed to look like. When I asked the cashier about that, she told me it was a full-size sandwich. Bullshit. They sure charged me for full size though. Full size baguette doesn't take 4 bites to finish! And coffee comes with the sandwich together. Coffee doesn't come first, it's not a drink! But they brought coffee first. Between coffee and a sandwich it took 20 minutes. The prices are very high for what they offer. They charge full price for half size portions. And the bread was dry and stale. Don't tell me it was today's fresh bread. I would never believe it. I feel like they ripped me off, frankly. So high prices, small portions and the service sucks. We are not going back there. There are lots of breakfast places like that all over town. The competition is overwhelming. No problem.

Someone stopped by our business trying to…read moresell us on a service we absolutely did not need, but he happened to bring along a box of cookies from Rise Up Bakery. Whatever else happened during that visit, those cookies were a VERY good introduction to the bakery. I have not actually been into Rise Up Bakery myself, so this review is based entirely on the delightful and delectable cookies I got to try. There was a sugar cookie, oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip, M&M, and several others. I started by pinching off a little piece of one, then another, and then another. Before long I felt like such a little piggy because I had sampled nearly every cookie in the box. The problem was that every time I tried a new one, it was just as good, if not better, than the one before it. I kept thinking I had found my favorite, only to change my mind with the next bite. And these cookies were BIG hoggers too, probably around 6 inches across. These are not little dainty cookies you mindlessly nibble on. They have some size to them, and thankfully the flavor matches. So while I can't review the bakery itself, the atmosphere, or the service just yet, I can absolutely review the cookies. Based on those alone, Rise Up Bakery has definitely gotten my attention. Four stars for now, and mostly because I feel like I need to actually visit the bakery before handing over the fifth.
