My boyfriend's parents referred me to Klein Honda as they have purchased cars from this dealer in the past. My boyfriend and I went on 11/4/16 to test drive a 2017 Civic. Reggie came out and promptly greeted us and we walked around to see the different models of the Civic. I quickly fell in love with the Civic EX-L! Reggie did not hesitate nor judge us based on our age and took us for a spin! He was easy going and ready to answer any and all questions. After a spin and looking at some of the features, we got to negotiating. We were able to settle on a good deal and said we would be back the next day -at this point it was far beyond closing time. I'm sure Reggie had better things to do but he did not make us feel rushed or pressured into closing at all. Of course, he's there to make sales so he did try to entice us with a deal but we all agreed to meet again the next day. Fast forward, we arrived the next and met with Micah to finish the last details of the deal. I was disappointed that Reggie was not there but he was mistakenly double booked. After he was done with his client, he and Micah worked together to make sure I was completely happy with all aspects of our deal and wouldn't shake on it until they were able to meet every one of my requests! So far, so good! Here's where it got a little hairy.... The car that I wanted was a 2017 Civic EX-L in White Orchid Pearl with black interior. They said the car would be in on Monday and gave me a loaner until it arrived as I had traded in my car to them. Well, Monday came and went and apparently the car would not make it until 11/14-11/17. So the waiting continued. When the 14th came and went, I started to get frustrated because I felt like I was given misinformation and Klein was not upholding their end of the deal. I voiced my frustrations to Micah and he assured me that he would make it up. He threw in accessories and updated me every couple of days on the status of my car. He saw the whole transaction through even though there were some hiccups along the way. This afternoon (11/21/16), he called to let me know that my car arrived and even on his sick day, he came in to make sure everything went well in processing my car. When I got to the dealer, Reggie was ready to get all of the finishing touches complete and get us on our way! Although there were some bumps along the way and things didn't go as planned, I truly saw the integrity in Micah and Reggie as they did their best to update me and see this whole fiasco to the end. Dropped off my car and was told it would be done tomorrow, a week later it was done and then when I picked it up it had a broken windshield. They told me I did it before I dropped it off and proceeded to yell at me and said that I should have taken pictures of the whole car prior to prove they didn't do it. Stepping on the dealership ground felt welcoming, and Graham Rice was wonderful at showing me the Honda Fit that I was interested in purchasing. I feel it is very poor business to offer a vehicle at a price conditional of paying over $1000 for unwanted add-on's. I purchased a used car from Klein and had a decent experience, but with a few hiccups. Pros: Elijah, the sales guy, was super easy going, fairly low pressure, and willing to negotiate (of course, the prices are up to the guys in the back). I ended up with a car I liked at a very reasonable price. Cons: Two problems: they quoted me a higher loan rate, even though I was pre-approved with the same bank, had my approval letter, and knew the rate. I argued for a bit but they 'submit it straight to the computer system'. I opted for a longer term because of their discrepancy. I went to my bank to ask about it (closed at the time of the purchase), and they verified that the dealer had entered incorrect info, and quoted me the wrong rate. I received the bank-quoted rate when they issued the loan, but would have gotten a lower rate with the shorter term I had planned on, if not misguided by the dealer. Frustrating. Second, they were supposed to replace the headlight and didn't. Not a big deal, but costs the same to do it myself as drive back there to have them make good on the 'we owe' order. My advice for used car purchase. Think of a number are willing to pay. Stick to it. No matter what. Walk otherwise. There are LOTS of used cars out there. More than likely, you'll eventually get the number you had in mind. I walked out paying less than $6500 for a vehicle they were asking $10,000. Overall, 3 stars. Nice folks. A few perks. This dealership has terrible customer service The sales department is demoralized and really don't want to do any follow up or really sell anything for that matter. The hipster, "I don't know who cares whatever" attitude. I negotiated a deal that was a good value for me and when my car came in damaged they said we can't get you another car and killed my deal. We were told by a mechanic that the door handles of my car were drawing a charge from the battery. We dropped off the car with Klein Honda service center with the report from this mechanic. Honda told us that the diagnostic would cost $180 but if we did repairs as a result of the diagnostic, that amount would be deducted from the cost of repairs. On the same day, I received a call saying that they did the diagnostic and the battery was bad and needed to be replaced. I was also told there was a leak and the car was up for regular maintenance. I insisted that Honda check where the draw was coming from and asked specifically that the door handles be checked. The next day, Honda called back saying the door handles were drawing power from the battery, something we told them when we brought in the car. I asked that Honda replace my battery and was told that repair would not be deducted from the $180 diagnostic charge. The representative could not provide an explanation as to why. I did not want to do any other repairs so I went to pick up my car. I again brought up that the representative when I dropped off the car said that as a result of the diagnostic they recommended that the battery be changed. So it did not make sense why the cost/replacement of the battery cannot be deducted from the diagnostic charge. The representative was rude and rolled his eyes and said something like "you can't just choose the most minuscule repair and expect that to go towards the diagnostic." He would not listen and kept saying "you agreed to pay for the diagnostic, you signed for it" and would not let me speak or ask my question without interrupting me. I still do not understand why the $180 diagnostic charge could not go towards replacing the battery - a repair HONDA determined my car needed following the diagnostic. Only when I insisted that they check the door handles did they find the issue with the door. Now Honda is claiming that only this repair will go towards the diagnostic. Why is this? I used TrueCar in October to commence a car search and after receiving non-stop harassment via phone and email from car dealers, I asked them to stop and they complied, except for Honda dealers. On Dec. 9, nearly three months after I started my car search using TrueCar, and two months after owning a Jeep, I began a second wind of sales harassment from Klein Honda . I once unsubscribed to their emails but they re-emerged, and this time, the unsubscribe link didn't work. I then received two calls and voicemails demanding a call back to discuss my interests. It is electronic and telephonic assault and it is abhorrent and must stop. Harassment sales tactics are never acceptable. I also plan to report this to all Honda executives at corporate! read more

Make sure your "Klein Honda Promise" is in writing. I bought a used vehicle from Klein Honda and went through the usual process. Run the numbers, pull the credit, get pushed for the extra services, yadda yadda. That part was fine and dandy. Being a used car, the very first question I asked was if there was a second key to the vehicle. I was assured multiple times that there was, throughout the entire purchasing process, so I thought I was being taken care of. They said it's probably somewhere in the service department. It's not usually a big deal to not have the other key, but keys for modern cars are extremely expensive to replace. $380 plus tax to be exact. That's the cost I will have to pay since Klein Honda didn't actually have the second key. They also assured they would try and contact the original owner to try and track it down, which I thought was a good gesture, especially considering I went through a significant effort to retrieve the second key to my trade in and be a good customer. Now I think I should have held it ransom as they pretty much just kicked me to the curb once the paperwork was signed. I also used the "contact the manager" to try and see if something could be done, as a good dealer would have worked something out, lower the cost or offer something to compensate for the cost of the replacement key that I was assured would be available to me. Unfortunately this has fallen on deaf ears, which is why Klein Honda has earned only 1 star instead of 5. STAY AWAY!!! I should have listened to many of these reviews before dealing with Klein Honda. The lifetime warranty sounds like a great incentive to purchase from Klein because you expect them to stand behind their product. This is not the case. They will use a loophole, like a tire rotation to void the warranty so they don't have to fix the car. Even if the issue is completely unrelated to the tire rotation. Be sure to read the contract very closely and DO NOT go on their word. What was explained to us at the sales desk did not cover all the details. I purchased a used vehicle and had the oil changed religiously at 5k miles, even though the book states 7,500 miles. The vehicle only survived 35k miles after purchasing from Klein. The vehicle was taken care of and should have made it much further than 35k miles. Klein Honda has ZERO corporate responsibility!!! I cannot stress enough on evaluating all these reviews closely before dealing with Klein Honda. They are accurate!!! Very poor customer service, lack of follow through, terrible maintenance/inspection, and no professionalism. Klein Honda is in a populated area with many other dealers to choose from, be sure to choose a different dealership. This is the first time I have ever had to write up a poor review on a company and have tried several times to work with them. It is my understanding that the General Manager is no longer employed at this dealership, I hope the owners take a hard look at the rest of their employees to understand they have some serious amounts of clean up to do. read more

I bought a Honda CRV in 2015, I also bought the extended warranty. I soon found out that Klein's life time warranty is only honored at Klein in Washington State. I came here for an oil change and asked them to check on the lower engine shield, which is where you look at every time an oil change is done. They said they would look at it, so me and my wife sat down in their lounge to wait. After they did the oil change, I went straight home (this was the last hour before closing time). I looked below and saw that the engine shield was coming apart still! I didn't know if I needed to replace it or needed new fasteners, so that's why I went to Klein Honda. Even though I came here early for an oil change, which wasn't due for another month, I figured that I can trust Honda to look at this issue. Since they would be in the area anyways, they might as well look at it and tell me if I needed a new part or fasteners. After more than a half hour of waiting, they said that they checked everything and it's good. I looked underneath my engine and still saw the shield coming off! In other words, their mechanics didn't bother saying anything or bother with it! This is sad that a Honda dealer wouldn't bother looking at the shield, even though it's right in front of them! I don't plan to come back next time and will look for another dealer whom I can trust. I received email quotes from 3 dealers in the greater Seattle area. Klein Honda was the best quote. I thought it was going to be a done deal with them. They sent me an email with a quote for a great lease of $184 a month. I knew there would be some increase to that base amount (acquisition fee, license/title, etc), but nothing like what they tried to pull... I should note here that directly in their emails, Klein Honda states "No Pre-installed accessories" and "No question pricing". I went in for a test drive and asked for some information on my trade-in. They gave me what turned out to be a very low estimate on my trade-in (I ended up getting more than double what they offered me from Honda of Seattle), but that was not the most disturbing part. The offer sheet they presented me at the dealership included line items: "State Fees": $680.00 "Licensing and Doc Fees": $150.00 "Accessories": $1643.00 First off. Actual license fees (from Honda of Seattle) ended up just being above $400. They tried to add nearly $300 just on that piece alone. "Accessories" included a whopping $349 in "dealer prep" fees (what any other business would consider a cost of business expense). $695 for a 3rd party security system and $309 for paint sealant (yes, in 2017 some dealers are STILL trying the sealant scam). All these accessories pushed the lease payments to above $300. I was pretty frustrated. The salesperson tried to do the whole "let me talk to my manager and see what we can do" thing, but I walked out. We already had the makings of a deal in place and I was not going to play BS car salesmen games so they could waste hours of my time in pursuit of a few hundred dollars. What I ended up doing is taking their selling price and sent an email to Honda of Seattle. They were able to get super close to the price, while dumping all the ridiculous fees and accessories. Then to make up for the slight price difference, they made a very aggressive offer on my trade-in. Short story - I went to Honda of Seattle that night, signed the lease and went home in a new HR-V. If you are into old school car sales bull crap, then Klein Honda may be the place for you. If you find accessory add-on tactics, or "dealer prep" fees tedious and ridiculous, then you may want to skip the Klein experience. read more

There is no way I'll be letting this dealership work on my vehicle ever again! I brought my Honda Pilot 2007 at Klein Honda Service to get fixed. The car is a little rough on idle and giving the P0303 code (Cylinder #3 misfire) when I connect my OBDII scanner. The car runs fine with no other issues. After their diagnosis, Gary from the service department said, that the car has tight exhaust valve on #3 cylinder and needs adjustment. According to him it needs new spark plugs too, because the ones I put on are not Honda spark plugs. He said it will work better, if I will have the timing belt, torque tensiometer, water pump and serpentine belt replaced too. Total cost $2248. Since he said that doing this will fix the issue, I told him to go ahead and fix the car. After two days, I picked up the car and paid everything in full ($2248). When I started the car, the rough idle was still there but the check engine light is gone. After two days, 60 miles later, the check engine is back and the same code P0303 cylinder #3 misfire. I called Gary to tell him that the car was not fixed. I brought it back to Klein Honda. They kept the car for three days. On the third day Gary called me to tell me that the car needs a new engine because of some gasket that's causing the coolant sipping inside the engine. They charged me $2248 for a repair on this engine and five days later they tell me that this engine is not good?! He was trying to sell me a used engine for $2900 plus labor to install it. I took my car back and left. I will just work on it myself or take it to another shop. There is no way I'll be letting this dealership work on my vehicle ever again! read more

Came in to check a door lock actuator and was not told initially that it was 150$ just to look at it. Then 30 mins later they say it is 426$ to replace when the part is 78$ oem from Amazon new. Came in today to look at a used car with my family and a pretty young man walks up to us and asks us about 3 times "are you purchasing today or no?" And I said I don't know yet, we need to find the right car and price then we will and he proceeds to ask me again "so you are not going to be buying a car today?!" I said again I'm not sure! We ended up test driving a car and we liked it so we go inside, get some numbers, and while my family and I are trying to decide he said "so it's a deal right? You will be buying??" I was in the middle of telling him we are not sure about a couple things and we are still discussing it when he stands up, and starts walking away while my family and I are still sitting down, and basically says he doesn't have time for us. He presented us with a price that was over twice from the listed price they had on Auto Trader. When that was pointed out, his answer was laughable. RUN AWAY. I negotiated deal (from long distance) with Evelynn Tantoco for my parents to purchase CRV - very detailed, pricing out every accessory and final price. FYI - Lynwood Honda quote was slightly higher but it turns out it was lower than price after Klein jacked it up in finance and if you compare apples to apples, Lynwood's quote was less - talk to Ray/Marcus at Lynwood or Jay at Mazda. (BTW Lynwood exactly predicted Klein would do what it did to my parents). After Evelynn assured me we had a deal, I sent my parents to Klein. Evelynn was no longer the sales agent (even though she was physically there) and they were passed off to guy named Q, who claims he doesn't know any of the details of negotiated deal and doesn't have access to that information. WHAT? He took my parents into finance (Keo) where they renegotiated the deal, higher cost and convinced my mother they were adding accessories she wanted (which were already included in the deal I made with Evelynn). And note that Evelynn and I reviewed the prices for each accessory 4 times - in our last call she said "i want to review this with you one more time so there are no surprises" ha ha ha SURPRISE SURPRISE. When I found out finance SPIKED the price, I called Q, who was going to immediately sort this out and talk to finance director to get it fixed. He didn't call me back so I called him three hours later. He said he had spoken to Kyl, finance director, and found out my parents went in there asking for all these additional things. No - we had exhaustive list of accessories-14 items- they didn't ask for extras. Finance confused them and up-sold them and sold them a couple of accessories that were already included in the deal I negotiated with Evelynn, double charging them. this is the kind of place that carries you along, exhausts you and then sets you in front of finance guy to confuse you at the last minute, thinking you are too invested to walk. Watch if you try to do deal with them, this is exactly what will happen to you. Be a smart buyer and rely on previous customers' experience to help guide you. I now see other accusations of ELDER ABUSE in Klein reviews. I called Kyl - I asked him if he'd talk to Q today, no, he hadn't - so is Q lying or Kyl? Q says he did, Kyl says he never heard from Q. The runaround. Kyl said they (Klein) sold the client what the client asked for. And then he said He doesn't even know who my parents are - really, Kyl, then how do you know your finance guy sold them exactly what they asked for - you just said you don't even know what client we are talking about. Kyl doesn't know if his finance guy reneged on the deal - actually I think it's probably such standard behavior there that it doesn't matter who the client is - they just have stock answer. This kind of behavior is so sad and so unjust, unethical. AND they never gave my mother any paperwork- she doesn't know what she agreed to, whether she has contract or not - they say she does. BUT she doesn't have car. Evelynn said there was one on lot - parents were in dealership on Tuesday and Klein says car not ready for pickup til Monday. WHAT? And didn't give her copy of ANYTHING. Go somewhere else - you don't want to do business with people so incompetent that they can't earn an honest living. I'm sure you were hard for your $, these people don't deserve your $. by the way the Mazda CX-5 Touring is an AMAZING vehicle, better than CRV, less expensive and Jay at the Everett Mazda dealership is a stand up guy If you are disgusted by people who take advantage of vulnerable older people, I beg you to make sure Klein feels the consequences and take your business elsewhere. 2 recs for you - 1- look on line at independent sources on recommendations for what accessories make sense or not - extra security systems, paint and interior protection, etc. if dealer doesn't think the paint and leather on new $44k car will last three years, you probably don't want it to buy it. The paint and leather on my 4 year Mazda is excellent condition. 2- look at Honda website because you can price out many, not all, but many of accessories at Honda recommended prices and see Klein's markup - I don't know how Klein's compensation plan works, maybe they don't get commission, but I really would not be surprised if they have a bonus structure based on price gouging of accessories and pressured up-sales in the finance office. if you're vulnerable to high pressure sales tactics, please be careful at Klein - get ironclad agreement in writing or electronically before stepping foot into dealership and stick to your guns - you can always add accessories later. I know they'll tell you the price will be higher later- it won't be. You really think theyll charge you more than $220 for all weather mats next week - I don't think so. I had bought a certified Honda Accord from Klein Honda several years ago. My rear view camera and right turn camera worked fine. After one of my oil changes, my rear view camera didn't work anymore. I brought it to the attention of a service advisor. He offered to troubleshoot it for $150.00. Today, I brought it to them for another oil change. After the oil change my right turn camera didn't work anymore. I brought it to their attention. Again they offered to troubleshoot it for $150.00. the staff are super friendly, the service is extremely slow, 1.5-2 hours for a simple oil change at $89.95 is a tough pill to swallow.

I had my car Service at Klein Honda today. The initial service was great. I was told tire rotation will be free of charge with the alignment and they do free car wash for the service. I was told the wait time will be 1.5-2 hr. Well, they took more than 4hr, which is understandable considering they get busy during weekends. When I received my car, I realized they did not wash my car. I checked my invoice once I got home, I saw they had also charged me for the rotation. I never had any problem with Honda service at other locations but Klein Honda is not trustworthy. Lesson learnt: don't believe what they say and always check the invoice and full details before you make your payment. read more
