Located in the Hilton, the decor is reminiscent of an Irish pub. There was open seating when we stopped in (grab a table) and World Cup soccer on all the TVs. Great spot to watch sports, but it is loud and when the door to the street opens there is quite a rush of air up the middle of the restaurant. We ordered drinks and food and Dana took great care of us. I had a bowl of the potato soup. It was delicious with the bacon chunks and side of Yorkshire pudding (which was meh). Hubby enjoyed his bangers and mash, and the rest of my Yorkshire pudding. Convenient location if you're staying in the hotel and want a quick bite of standard Irish fare.
Fun spot to celebrate a bears win! We walked in after a cold game and managed to find some standing room and eventually got a seat at the bar. Service was quick even though it was quite packed. My glass of Pinot noir was great, and our food came out pretty quickly too. The wings were tasty and pretty standard for a bar but nothing extra special. The sauce is supposed to be Jameson-infused but just tasted like a standard buffalo sauce. The side salad was a fresh addition to the meal. The fish and chips were the star of the show with real flakey fish that had a nice crispy light batter. The fries with this dish (chips) were tasty too, and even more tasty dipped in the tartar sauce. The Mac and cheese was rich and heavy with delicious bites of short rib, but pretty expensive for being Mac and cheese. Overall, we had a great post game time here and enjoyed the grub!
This restaurant/pub is located on the ground floor, inside the Hilton Chicago, so you can bill it to your room. It's more a pub than a restaurant because everyone is drinking. Everyone's got a drink in their hand. Not everyone is dining, but I was hungry and didn't want to leave the hotel for dinner. You seat yourself. I found a nice booth in the corner. Be prepared, it's crowded and loud. When alcohol is involved, people get loud. I ordered a margarita and chicken pot pie. My margarita was good and strong. The chicken pot pie was good, too. It was served in a large skillet, with a huge pastry on top, and topped off with some greens. Delicious food for a pub. As busy as the bartender was with all the drink orders, he still did a good job taking care of my food order. I especially like how the soup of the day was cold beer. Nice.
This restaurant was attached to the Hilton Chicago, which made it a great spot a late night bites! I visited this spot multiple times during my stay. Drinks, food, and service were all top notch and quick. The vibe inside is great! It has an Irish pub feel while still providing that big city energy. I've heard that this bar gets super busy during St. Patrick's Day in Chicago, and I can see why!
During my second visit to Chicago, I stayed in the hotel in front of Kitty O'Sheas but didn't get a chance to stop by. I promised that when I was back in town, I'd make it a mission to stop by -- and so a few friends and I did. It's self seating, but we were sat for a while before a server came over. We had a cider each and it was a bit of a wait before we received it (despite there not being much foot traffic), so we decided to continue on elsewhere. I was really excited for this pub but ended up feeling a little disappointed with the experience overall. Felt unwelcoming (but I also realize 3 Latina ladies may not be the target audience).
Excellent food!!!! I was very impressed. I loved the potato leek soup. My farm house salad was delicious too. My salmon on top was cooked perfectly. My boyfriend loved his shepherd's pie, and my mom really enjoyed her fish and chips. My uncle really liked his bangers and mash too. Fabulous desserts! The Jameson blueberry cobbler and Bailey's bread pudding were sooooooo good. Strong drinks! The old fashioned was powerful!!! Fun atmosphere. Pub and sports bar vibes, but plenty of quieter dining areas too. Spacious venue with many rooms. Large tables available too. Outdoor patio as well. Friendly service. We did have to ask for water and beverage refills. Our water glasses were consistently empty. Otherwise, service was very good. Fun decor. Great location on Michigan Avenue, part of the Hilton hotel. I would definitely return.
This was the restaurant of my hotel and I stopped in to grab a snack and watch a basketball game! It's a fun vibe with cool seating options for both single diners and big groups. My server was great but slow, I think they forgot to put my pretzel order in but luckily I wasn't in a rush since I was watching the game. The pretzel was good and I asked for double cheese sauce, it looks overcooked but isn't! I hope to be back because there were definitely something's I wanted to try on the menu.
Kitty O'Sheas was a solid four-star stop for me. It has the feel you want from an Irish pub inside a big Chicago hotel: easygoing, comfortable, and built for a pint and a real meal rather than anything fussy. The fish and chips were the highlight. The fish pieces were cut nice and thick, with enough substance that it felt like a proper plate instead of mostly batter. The roasted lemon was a small touch, but a good one. It made the dish feel a little more intentional and gave the fish a better lift than the usual wedge on the side. I also really enjoyed the bread pudding. It was rich, warm, and delicious, and the ice cream was not just decoration. It was needed to balance the dessert and keep it from getting too heavy. Service at the bar was attentive, which made the whole visit easy. I would not call it a destination meal, but for fish and chips, Guinness, dessert, and good bartenders near the Hilton/South Loop area, it did exactly what I wanted.
This place is HOPPING! We stayed at the Hilton Michigan Ave and this is the hotel bar/restaurant. The pub does a brisk business and was packed-but we were able to grab a table and get waited on pretty quickly. I decided to check out the fish and chips as it's an Irish pub. No disappointment there! Crispy and delicious! Good sized portions. Hubs dined in their burger and was pleased with that decision. Kitty O'Sheas is a fun upbeat place to grab drinks and meet up with the gang.
This place has a captive audience from the Hilton which owns it. The place was very busy but not for any good reason. Things started disappointingly when I ordered a Smithwick's ale. It was the worst pour of this beer I've ever had. A proper Smithwick's should be on nitro and poured slowly to create a big creamy head. Any proper pub knows this. This is not a proper pub. The beer came with zero head. Pathetic. Other reviews have talked about the bad service. We did not experience that. Our young server was attentive and did everything we asked for. He didn't know a damned thing about beer as my friend asked for a Chicago beer and he told him that Fat Tire was from Chicago. But he's young and he was trying at least. Clearly not trained well. Some of us enjoyed our potato leek soup but my wife found the bread served with it to be too sweet. Was it supposed to be Irish soda bread? I had the bangers and mash. Seemed like a dish that couldn't be screwed up too much. The sausages had that proper blandness and the mash was tasty but the gravy was pure Kitchen Bouquet. Too sweet and one dimensional. It came with carrots and peas, the carrots were fine but the peas were oddly crunchy with blackened bits. Were they reheated in a hot skillet? The real disaster was the wedge of cabbage. It was cold and raw at its center and appears to have been pan served with about 10 per of it cooked. My second beer from Revolution was much better.
Visiting Chicago for a conference, I discovered Kitty O'Sheas conveniently located near my Marriott Hotel. The bar was LOUD, and it was Sunday night football. I grabbed a high top in the middle of the crowded bar and was waited on by Sara. The Baked Pretzel with dipping sauces was really good as was the IPA on draft. Definitely a cool bar to just grab some late night nosh and watch some football.
Conveniently located inside of Hilton Chicago (at least if you're staying there), Kitty O'Sheas is an interesting spot. Propped up by a historic hotel as its setting, one would think it would be something more akin to fine dining but it really does just feel like a typical Irish pub, although the prices are a bit steeper. The inside felt old fashioned but clean, polished even. We arrived at the hotel VERY late into the night so this being an option was very welcome. The servers seemed a bit overwhelmed with other parties who were definitely a few drinks in, but we were seated quickly and our orders were taken fast as well. Typically the menu here has a solid amount of typical Irish options, but since we arrived so late we had to order off the late night menu which is a peeled back version of their typical dinner menu. We went with the Chicago style Italian beef sandwich, short rib mac and cheese, and buffalo wings. The food came out relatively fast, considering the time of night and our party size, and it was hot--smelled great too. The Italian beef sandwich was a sloppy, delicious mess that while lacking any structure, tasted fantastic. It came with thick cut fries that were great too, salted just right and had a good texture to them. The buffalo wings were good too, a bit too much on the buffalo side, which may sound weird to say, but it tasted a bit too saucy. Still, the wings had the perfect texture so it was definitely worth the bite. Last, but certainly not least, the short rib mac and cheese was incredible. The mac and cheese was gooey, cheesy, creamy, and all other slightly discomforting words you could use to describe it. The short rib was soft and tender, almost melting in our mouths. Easily the best part of the meal and one of the better mac and cheese dishes we've had in a very long time. Kitty O'Sheas is a great little Irish spot that more than packs a punch from a food perspective, but unfortunately probably isn't the most accessible place to get to considering it's in a hotel lobby. However, we strongly recommend giving this place a shot if you're in the area and doubly so if you're actually staying at the Hilton Chicago.

So this was my 2nd attempt at finding food I could actually eat. Went to Chipotle...trash. Went right downstairs to the restaurant in the hotel and ordered a bacon cheeseburger well done & a Berry Good Lemonade from the bar to go. Drink was awesome. Wish I could've taken in to my room...in a pitcher. Burger was ok. At this point I was starving. Bread was extremely too thick. The one slice of cheese that put on the burger came off on the top of the container. Liked the fries! The fries had a spiral shape...if they cut them slightly a little thinner than fried them would've been perfection. But still had a great crunch to them. read more

We came here for a nightcap, as our hotel bar was already closed. This place is inside the Hilton. Irish bar. The cocktail menu didn't have much on it. We ordered off menu. My husband went with a whiskey sour and I did an espresso martini. She asks which liquors, as Tullamore Dew was advertised everywhere and it was an Irish bar we went with that for his whiskey sour. I went with Titos for my martini as a Texas native. She made the drinks pretty quick. My husband was disappointed his drink didn't have egg white on it, and mine was served in a stemless martini glass - which just didn't look right. We closed out after the round, and whiskey sour was about $9, but she had charged $19 for my martini, damn! didn't realise Titos was such a premium vodka. My husband wanted to have an espresso martini after mine, glad we didn't after knowing the price! read more
Looking for a late night dinner found this place, located in the Hilton pretty good gimlet, ordered a burger ehhh just ok, not a fresh patty pre fabed on a very hearty bun, fries were good and the service was fast, cool vibe good spot for a quick underwhelming dinner. read more

I got the BLT salad and they forgot the T. The salad was delicious, so it was not a big deal, but given they also accidentally gave someone in our party chicken instead of salmon, there's some attention to orders that are missed. read more
I stopped in here while in Chicago for work. I wanted something close, simple, and quick. Kitty O'Shea's hit the mark. I sat at the bar, was immediately waited on, and got a beer within just a few minutes. I ordered the short rib shepherds pie. Man, was this thing good. It had 2 kinds of potatoes!!! It also had short rib, veggies (including asparagus), and a nice crust. The service is quick but not friendly. Overall though, I give Kitty O'Sheas 5 stars and would come here again. read more
I stopped in here after checking in. I go to the hotel because it's convenient, and at the time I stopped by not busy with a lot of customers. The server was friendly and very lovely and made me feel very welcome. It didn't take long to get my food which is a good thing when you're hungry and sit when you enter. But when it's busy, and one person is at a booth table, and you are a party of 4, not so much, but overall it's okay. I had wings, salad, and fries. The fries are enormous, so it's a shareable thick cut. The salad was OK, and the wings were delicious. I stopped by the next day, but it was full with customers some seated and some waiting it was impossible to get a seat, so I left. This is a place you would stop by before 8pm if you want to be able to grab a seat read more

It's a no frills, comfy pub connected to a hotel. I was staying at the hotel so I visited a few times. I was most pleased with the breakfast and the lunch. Meh on dinner. It's a little overpriced but then again, after and amongst the Covid era... maybe the price is where it has to be. The bar staff were nice. The table staff were accommodating in a ..." Here ya go" and now I'll be in the back until I bring you your ticket kinda way". Drinks were fine. Lots of seating available in the morning and night. Lunch gets a little busy. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this place, but if you're around and want something solid to eat; why not. I think this place get a lot of hotel and conference guests. read more
Excellent professional service, delicious food served up hot with delicious chef-y touches and a lovely Irish pub vibe await at Kitty O-Shea's. After a Long day at the Field Museum, and the Shedd aquarium, we found a lovely calm quiet delicious refuge at Kitty O'Shea's. I had the fish and chips which were freshly battered and fried, served up hot crispy and delicious with a housemaid tartar sauce. The kitty burger, BLT and deconstructed shepherds pie were equally delicious. We enjoyed our food immensely. 5 awesome pub stars read more
We happen to stumble across this place since it was close to our hotel. They ask you for your ID as soon as you walk in so I think it's 21 and over. There was a Beard game so the serve was slower but understandable with the amount of people flooding in. My wedge salad was okay and my drink was okay as well. If you're looking to just have drinks in a convenient location than it does the job. read more

We all ordered a dish and shared for brunch. The lobster avocado toast was delicious and the eclairs delightful. The bangers were fabulous. But the sangria was the highlight. It is the best! Service is always excellent! read more

Came multiple times on different days to use my credit. Burger was well done when I wanted medium rare, but fries was excellent. Fish n chip, batter was oily and fish tasteless, but crispy fries were excellent. Order fish n chip to go, got to room, and ate halfway on one fish and noticed uncooked batter and took it back down. Fries weren't crispy like dine-in, most likely cause they only fried it once to save time for to go orders. Got annoyed and used credit at the hotel market. read more
When you get there you seat yourself. It was very busy because of lollapalooza but I felt that they did their best to get to everyone as soon as they could. We sat at the bar and Margaret served us. She was great attending to everyone and making drinks while keep up a positive energy. I tried to get this spiked coffee but they ran out of something they needed but Margaret made me something else that was similar and it was still good. Grabbed the breakfast sandwiches and they were perfect for what we were looking for filling, delicious, and quick. read more

Upon entering the restaurant, don't plan to be seated by a hostess but a sign stating to seat yourself. Luckily, I was able to find a table right away. Kitty O'Shea's definitely has an Irish pub feeling. Guests seemed like they were having a good time. Since I came in a little later in the evening, I was able grab a table. The restaurant was still quite steady. Kristy B, server, greeted me and take my drink order. Upon return, I had decided on the Fish & Chips for my entree. Within 10 minutes or so, the entree was delivered. The fish was nice and meaty and the fries were very well seasoned. Kristy did check in with me. Opted to skip dessert. Overall a good experience and food. read more

I had a delicious dinner after a long day at a conference. I didn't want to travel far from the hotel and this place is right here. I had the Deconstructed Shepherd's Pie a Braised short rib, lamb chop, crispy potato, baby carrot, green peas, pearl onion and a few non alcoholic beers. It was very good and filling. Great presentation. read more

The food was good- not sure what the excitement is. Friend had the Kitty's burger and said it was good, but nothing to really write home about. The fish n chips was tasty enough, but just average and it was overpriced for two pieces of fish and fries for $17. There was more batter than fish. read more
