Immediately noticed and enjoyed the life size cut out of Hulk Hogan and knew this would be a good fit. We were greeted by a waitress and someone else shadowing her. They brought some fun spicy popcorn designed to make you want a beer. I ordered a Harmony Brewing Company Draft beer and was brought the wrong one, oops! They quickly fixed it. Their pint glasses are so cool, because when you reach the end it has a funny picture at the bottom. Please see picture for reference. We chose the deviled eggs for an appetizer. They were good, but cold. I'm sorry, but no one's deviled egg recipe compares to Low Country Carolina Restaurant in my opinion. Plus at $5 for their happy hour special as opposed to $12 at this establishment... it kinda felt pricey and lacking. Originally, we ordered the brisket sandwich to split. There was another big table of people the waitress was also serving. Turns out 20 minutes or so later she went to put in our order and they were out of brisket! She was apologetic and offered to buy us dinner. We split the chicken sandwich instead and got some onion rings with it. The chicken sandwich was really good; juicy, crispy, no complaints. I was full after eating half and splitting the onion rings with my friend. Onion rings were okay, but didn't appear to be homemade. We appreciated the ranch to dip it in. Before leaving we took our photo next to the cute garden wall with a shiny neon sign that read "Making Pour Decisions!" So punny!! I don't live around the corner, so I probably won't be back anytime soon, but the food is good. We appreciate the servers remedied any of the errors graciously and felt like we were treated with respect. This place is a great diner themed bar with a relaxed vibe. I'd recommend trying them out if you're in town.

This is a Sweet and spicy stuffed egg, candied cajun thick cut bacon, charred poblano pepper garnish. These are good, but the taste aren't fully complimentary. The bacon was a little tough, however they are overall enjoyable. I was going to have their Bbq Bolognese for my entree, however they changed their menu sometime in the past, but didn't update their websites dinner menu! I got their Smoked Meat Trio ($32) instead. This has Ribs, Brisket, and Turkey. Along with Mac n Cheese and a veggie plus some Cornbread. This was a massively disappointing meal. The ribs were not tender at all, thankfully they were tough, just not tender. They tasted okay, very average at best. The brisket on the other hand was tough and not very tasty at all, definitely below average. The turkey was my favorite and the only thing I fully ate, however their was something not right. Is it frozen turkey or another thing, not sure. The bbq sauce on the meats was also okay, but nothing I would order. The mac n cheese was good. It actually tasted unique and is something I would order again. The cornbread was my favorite thing, not even colse to the best I've had, but very good. The service now was fantastic. Very friendly and everyone seems happy. Overall a 3 star review. Would I return? No, the fact they had Deviled eggs brought me in. However nothing I had makes 30 minutes travel time worth it. I would definitely skip the smoked meats! The popcorn you get when you're sat is highly enjoyable though.

At first I was hesitant because of the price, and it being biscuits, but they made me eat those words and more. It was like a large biscuit muffin top with jalapeño, cheese and honey glaze (I think) and it came with a white cheddar cheese sauce to dip it in that was outrageously delicious. For a guy who hates cheddar biscuits, I've got to say I'm blown away. My wife ordered the steak with fingerling potatoes and carrots. It was on the pricier side, but yet again well worth it. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the veggies were pretty good too. They had live music playing as well tonight. It was a jazzy kind of vibe and it didn't over power anyone talking or anything. The guy had some serious skill too. To top it off, we had some pretty killer service from everyone there. From the hostess taking our names, random servers walking around, and our fantastic server (I forget her name but she was blonde and worked upstairs and had a a really great attitude. The expo or food runner dropping our food off anticipated us possibly needing an extra plate and brought one without asking which was super awesome and ended up coming in handy ( I knew my wife wouldn't finish that steak alone) and she brought it without asking and was ready with a smile to get more. I used to be a GM (I hate when people use this saying but...) truly I know how hard it is to find good workers and the folks running it here seem to have it down. I come from a place where you have to drive 100 mi or more for average service. So seeing exceptional service is really almost too good to be true. I'd definitely stop in for a bite. It's worth every penny. We'll be back for dessert, they have seasonal crème brûlées!

I dined at TOG today for a business lunch and, unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing…read more At the end of our meal, I asked for a to-go box because I had barely touched my food. My guest and I spent most of our lunch talking, and I left with nearly an entire meal. About 20 minutes after leaving, I realized I had forgotten my box and immediately called the restaurant to see if it was still there. The young lady who answered the phone asked where I had been seated. I explained that I was at the very first table at the front of the restaurant. Within seconds, she told me there was nothing there. Her tone made it clear that assisting me was not a priority. Given that the hostess stand is located at the back of the restaurant and I was seated at the front, I do not believe there was enough time for her to actually check before dismissing my concern. After I sent an email regarding the situation, the hostess responded that she had walked through the restaurant looking for the box. Based on the timing of our phone conversation, I find that difficult to believe. In her response, she also stated that she checked with the servers after our call had ended, which suggests that no real effort was made while I was on the phone. What is most disappointing is that I am a regular customer. Today, I paid $56.00 for lunch for myself and my business guest. Between a server who was largely absent throughout the meal and the dismissive interaction when I called about my forgotten food, the level of service fell far below what I have come to expect. Everyone has an occasional bad day, but customer service is often defined by how issues are handled after something goes wrong. In this case, I felt dismissed rather than helped. Unfortunately, after today's experience, I do not plan to return.

Breakfast Adventure at The Peppermill Grill in Rockford, MI…read more The Peppermill Grill is a little diner hidden deep in a quiet Rockford neighborhood. If you didn't have Google Maps, you'd probably drive right past it. I finally found it on a cool morning, and when I walked in around 9:15, the place was calm and cozy. Only a few tables were taken, and the locals were chatting over coffee like old friends. The staff was amazing. Everyone was friendly, fast, and made me feel welcome right away. The diner was very clean and had that classic old‑school charm that makes you want to sit and stay awhile. Then came the main event: the All‑American Breakfast with American fries and a "large" chocolate milk. Here's how it all went: * The Chocolate Milk It tasted great--nice and chocolatey--but the "large" size was just a regular glass. I could've easily finished two. * The Eggs Two sunny‑side‑up eggs, cooked just right. They were runny and delicious. Still, I kind of wished there were three. * The Ham They gave me a big piece of ham, so the portion was great. But the flavor was pretty mild. It needed a little more seasoning or smokiness to stand out. * The American Fries These chunky potatoes looked good, but some were undercooked and none had seasoning. They really needed salt, pepper, or something extra to wake them up. * The Toast The wheat toast was buttery and fine, but not very crispy. More like warm bread than real toast. There were a few bright spots, though. The ketchup was top‑notch (pretty sure it was Heinz), and I loved the fancy salt and pepper grinders on the table so I could season things myself. In photos, the plate looks awesome--especially that giant piece of ham--but the taste didn't fully match the picture. The service and the cozy vibe were great, but the food didn't quite hit the mark for me. If you live nearby or want a simple diner breakfast with friendly people, The Peppermill Grill is worth a try. But if you're visiting from out of town, it's just okay. The people are wonderful, but the food needs a little more flavor to make the trip feel special.

Our waitress kept forgetting about us and never answered my menu questions that she said she would find out for me. Her visits to our table were so infrequent that I did not ask again. Overall, the menu is an eclectic, typical Greek fare with them being known for their coney's (hotdogs) with various toppings. My salad was fine, iceberg lettuce with a variety of toppings: pickled beets, tomato, olives, chickpeas and feta with Greek dressing. Not bad, not mind blowing. It was raining outside and our window was leaking in water. Luckily, are booth was a good distance from the window so we didn't have to sit in the puddle. This classic hometown diner delivers that cozy, down-home vibe with friendly service, a clean and welcoming interior, and a menu packed with hearty American comfort classics--all-day breakfast included. I went straight for the Country Sausage Omelette, a generous creation made with three fresh farm eggs, stuffed with savory country sausage, hash browns, and smothered in rich sausage gravy. It was everything I crave in a breakfast plate--scrambled eggs, breakfast meat, potatoes, and that creamy gravy--all conveniently wrapped up in one neat, delicious package. The flavors were spot-on: hearty, comforting, and perfectly seasoned with a generous sprinkle of black pepper on top. For an extra touch of sweetness, I paired it with raisin toast slathered in their homemade strawberry jam--tangy, bright, and just the right contrast to the savory omelette. No breakfast feels complete without my go-to drink: a tall glass of chocolate milk. This one stood out--it had that rich, old-school taste of real chocolate syrup mixed into fresh milk, far more flavorful than the standard pre-made versions you often get. Pure indulgence in a glass. The service was warm and attentive, even during what seemed like a busy post-church rush. The place is spotless, with plenty of seating in a somewhat bustling layout (think classic diner charm with 4-top tables). One note: larger groups might need to split across tables with an aisle in between, as seating isn't always easy to configure for big parties. Payment happens right at the table, which keeps things straightforward. One small observation about the menu--while there are plenty of creative omelette options and specials (like ham and eggs or corned beef hash), classic combinations like eggs with bacon or sausage links alongside potatoes don't appear as standalone items the way they do at some places. That said, the Country Sausage Omelette more than made up for it by hitting all those familiar notes in one satisfying dish. Overall, the Halfway Diner is a solid, feel-good spot for a reliable, no-fuss breakfast. Nothing halfway about the portions or the quality--definitely worth the drive if you're in the Rockford-Greenville area looking for authentic diner fare. I'll be back!
