Food is always delicious and I love how you have the option to mix different ciders together! The staff is super friendly and gave us some recs of what cider goes well together.

Grand Rapids is often called Beer City USA, but if you're in the mood for good food and tasty cider, we highly recommend you check out Vander Mill! While a lot of their seating options are outside, they still have plenty of seating in their upstairs tap room. The tap room overlooks their production facility, with lots of large vats and barrels to store the different ciders. I tried a flight of four of their ciders, but my favorite was the Honeycrisp. The food was also spectacular; I tried the BBQ Bacon smash burger, but they also had some limited time food items for an event that were delicious as well. We'll definitely be going again with friends and getting more cider from them soon!

Second time coming to Vander Mill and I was stoked because one I got one of my friends obsessed with totally roasted (she's doesn't drink beer) and I could finally bring her to a brewery where she would enjoy more than 1-2 options there! We got there around 4:30 and were promptly sat out on the patio with our pups. Our server was awesome and the playlist going did not disappoint, Spotify - Hot Pink, and it was giving! One friend is NA, and she throughly enjoyed the sparkling Honeycrisp - even brought some back home to Chicago! I went with the smash burger, which was fantastic! Sturdy bun, crispy burger edges, and as requested extra pickles. For my flight I went with, Vandy, Honeycrisp, blueberry, and totally roasted. I love them all, and ended up getting a pint of Honeycrisp to finish off the meal. All that for about $29+tip. Can't wait to come back to my fav cider spot in GR.

Excited to sit down at Vandermill after drinking their ciders over the years! Lots of parking available, that is super easy to find. The food was spectacular! I was not expecting much as cideries and breweries typically hone in on the drinks and the food is ok, but I was wowed by the quality of food that came out! Dish and chips were very light and packed with flavor. Who knew you could order salmon?! It was delicious. We will definitely be coming back soon!

I went here recently to meet up with a friend who can't have gluten. We like to find places that have plenty of gluten free menu options for her. I hadn't been in a few years and was looking forward to trying them out again. It was a nice day, so we decided to sit outside. They have a really cute outdoor area. We were out there by ourselves, probably since we were there at a weird late lunch time. Our server was quick and attentive though, which was nice. We both ordered flights of ciders and food. I was happy to see that there are a few beers on the menu in addition to ciders, so I tried 2 ciders and 2 beers. The IPA was pretty good, and definitely my favorite of the 4. I ordered the watermelon feta salad to eat, and there really isn't a better combo for a refreshing summer lunch! The watermelon didn't have a lot of flavor, but it was pretty early in the season, so I'm not surprised. It was still good. My friend didn't really love any of the 4 ciders she tried, but she ordered the gluten free macaroni and cheese and has been raving about it ever since! I hope they're doing well. It was pretty empty the whole time we were there, but its such a great space and a really easy to get to location from a lot of different parts of town. I'm going to need to remember to suggest it when I'm meeting up with people so I can try out more of the menu. And I'm sure I'll be back soon with my friend so she can get the macaroni and cheese again!

Been wanting to try this place for a few years. Finally got to try it on a Saturday afternoon around 3PM. Pulled into the parking lot and wondered if they were even open. Walked in and just a couple people at the bar. Thinking this may not be good. Luckily we were wrong. Service greeted us right away and was very friendly. Started with the pretzel bites and cheese dip. The dip was amazing. Even had some left over and dipped our fries in it. Got the olive burger and BBQ Bacon burger. Both were very good and not dry. Definitely will be back.

I actually came here only because I discovered that I love their Totally Roasted cider and wanted to see what else they have! When I got there, there were two parking lots on the left side for general parking, and there was a totally separate parking lot up near the door for handicap accessibility. I sat at the bar and ordered a flight so I could give a couple things a try. The first flight was not my favorite so I ended up getting a second, but definitely ask for samples before you order to avoid this mistake! They have a lot of different flavor profiles which was really nice. I still like the totally roasted the best, but it was great to try other stuff! They also had a nice little Happy Hour menu for small bites and $ off drinks. Their full menu is really good too! I like the different seating that's available too. There were larger tables, high tops, the bar, and a nice outdoor section that would have been nice if the weather was warmer. 10/10 you have to try the totally roasted!

Honey crisp cider, and Cider Mule!

The drinks, the service, the food, everything was wonderful. Big shout out to Liz our waitress for making our quick trip to Grand Rapids so great!

This is a fun place! It smells like apples when you walk in! They have a lot of room here, and it really wasn't that busy while I was here. You can see into their warehouse, and walk out onto a balcony in there. Down below the are tables and chairs, and a small bar, but I'm not sure when that's in use. Maybe private events. They have a lot of different ciders available on tap. They also have a few beers available. I didn't realize how many options they had! We chose to do flights so that we could try as many as possible. We also ordered a salad and a side of fries, both of which were very delicious!! Most of the cider was good, the beer was just okay. The service was okay. But this was a fun atmosphere here. And it's nice to have a place to go to besides a brewery! It's also not downtown which is nice, and bonus- they have their own parking lot (which is huge).

This was the first time we visited Vander Mill, and we'll be coming back. It's quite spacious inside and outside with a nice outdoor "patio" with tables. My kids loved the fries and chicken tenders. My husband got the burger, and I had the pulled pork sandwich. The sandwich isn't covered in BBQ sauce, which is good...but I did need to ask for more. The fries were delicious and well seasoned. Service was great! As for the cider, we enjoyed a flight and was surprised at all the varieties. I like a drier ciders with the brut and the loving cup as my faves. Staff said they usually have live music outdoors with the small stage off to the side, but with the holiday weekend there wasn't any. Good to know for the future, because we'll definitely be back. Kid friendly and a nice setting that you wouldn't notice if you just drove by.

The owner, regulars, and bartenders are like surrogate brothers/sisters and watch out for everyone there - new acquaintances and old friends. Everyone is marvelously welcoming, and the place has a quirky local pub vibe. The place is small and intimate, so you don't walk in without walking out with new friend. I have brought my young daughter here for years (we grab a Fanta from next door at Chicago Style Gyro for her - that glorious place is a whole other 5 star review) and the people here treat her like their beloved niece. This will be the place she celebrates her 21st at. The cider here is unimaginably delicious. The seasonal selections and the staple flavors are all wins. Devout beer-only drinkers, hard cider experimenters, and cider connoisseurs will find something delicious to drink there. And every dollar stays local -with all local ingredients and local production. I highly recommend stopping by in summer to experience grabbing a cold mug of PCC cider, finding a seat in their patio, and watching the cars go by while the sun sets over Leonard. I had the Ginger Adams--3x(still got that beer mentality where ya stick to the same beer all night) but my comrades tried a variety of ciders where each had their own unique tastiness: sweet for the Zema crowd and different levels of dry for the more traditional drinker-afficionado. The environment is fantastic as well--small, small Irish pub with some vinyl you can request to be played. The barkeep shook my hand and introduced himself with my first order. As I was reading the Michigan BrewTrail magazine I ran across their advertisement page, and was confused that it had a Grand Rapids address so It prompted me to do a little research. If you Yelp search you won't find their restaurant, cider/winery because it pops up as Ed Dunneback and Girls Farm Market. This new Pink Barrel Cellars page should help separate this from just a farmers market, and help highlight some of their amazing food and drink. I went on their last day of live music according to their online schedule. When I showed up the parking lot was full and there was well over 100 people there. If you go inside you will immediately notice that this place is so much more than a farmers market. In the back they have a bar serving some amazing ales, seltzers, stouts, ciders, and wine by the glass. In the middle they have fresh donuts, wine by the bottle, fresh fruits and vegetables for sale. Near the front they have a food stand. All the employees were spectacular and very informative. I had many questions, and they were all very Knowledgeable. Found out they have a few beers that have won national beer awards. For lunch I wound up ordering the pretzel with beer cheese, and ordered a honeycrisp ale. The shareable size of the menu isn't joking. It's very large and you're gonna want to share. I was so full after my pretzel that I couldn't even think about a second beer. The beer cheese was the BEST beer cheese I've ever eaten in my life. It was out of this world. The beer was also pretty spectacular. The beer was so good that I couldn't resist the urge to buy some wine by the bottle with the hopes it was just as good. I enjoyed everything at their outdoor seating while listening to live music. If I had gone with someone I definitely would of taken advantage of cornhole and drank wine by the glass. After eating I couldn't resist walking around the farm that had a ton of people running and smiling. In the back I observed the piggies, Eddie and Joe, napping. Also got to say hi to their pony's and goats . I walked through the orchard, and also the pick your own pumpkin patch. They have a huge slidefor the kids, and a playground. Highly recommend following this place on social media to stay up to date on menu changes, and event updates. Such an eventful Sunday afternoon. Definitely worth the visit.

The employees were not overly friendly or even really smiling, so I agree that they could have been friendlier - they all seemed to be high school or college age. I finally got tired of his excuses I said "stop making excuses and get us our food". A few minutes later the food showed up. No silverware, salt/pepper, ketchup or drink refills. Again asked a bus person to help. Waitress never came back. After a few minutes the General Manager came out accused us of being disrespectful to his server and shift manager and proceeded to start swearing at us. We never said anything to the server and the only thing I said to the shift manager was stop making excuses and get our food. The GM again never acknowledged the poor service and accused us of swearing and being disrespectful. Never listened to us and asked us to leave. He threatened to physically remove me rather than listen to how bad the service was ‍ Incompetence at all levels. Save your time and money.

This was unfortunately our first and last visit…read more We arrived and were seated, but just a few minutes later were rushed to place our food order. While we understand they were closing in about an hour, the way we were treated felt unprofessional. We ordered one sandwich--the Hash Slingin' Slasher--and handed over our card to start a tab. From the start, we felt unwelcome. We sat in a corner and were being stared at by other customers, who appeared to be regulars & family members. The difference in treatment between them and us was striking. Most concerning was the young bartender, whose behavior was clearly unprofessional. She was rude and dismissive toward us, yet extremely friendly, upbeat, and attentive to everyone else. This made the atmosphere tense and uncomfortable for first-time guests. Around 7:06 PM, an older couple arrived. The staff greeted them warmly with smiles and even hugs. They had no issues ordering food, were asked about drinks, and were made to feel welcome. Meanwhile, we were rushed, ignored, and never asked about drinks. When I went up to order a mocktail, a bottle of peach sangria to go, and a box for our sandwich, all conversation stopped. Multiple regulars & family members turned and stared at me--it wasn't subtle. My fiancée noticed it too. It didn't feel like a "closing soon" situation; it felt exclusionary. We had stopped by once before near closing time and met Nicholas, who was very kind--that's why we came back. Sadly, his kindness couldn't overcome the unprofessional behavior and uncomfortable atmosphere. The canned meads are excellent, the bottled wines are solid, and the food itself was good, but the overall experience left us feeling unwelcome.

Staff was very friendly. Nice selection of craft beers & good food. What more can you ask?read more
