Our visit to Kitchen 519 was quite pleasant over all. We ordered a BBQ platter with burnt ends, sweet potatoes casserole(served in a tiny cast iron skillet-cute!) and Brussel sprouts. Hubby had grilled salmon with kimchi fried rice and brisket baked beans. All were very tasty except for the sprouts. They were over cooked and very greasy. I know fried sprouts are in vogue but their structure isn't conducive to good oil drainage. They stayed with me for the rest of the evening! What an imaginative and tasty interpretation on food! I enjoyed a delicious house salad (519 salad) with dried cherries, goat cheese, candied pecans with a light vinaigrette. It typically comes with onions, but I ordered without due to my Low FODMAP diet. Even with the missing ingredient, this salad was so good. I loved the flavor combination especially when I got the perfect bite. I've had a lot of salmon, but this was a lovely interpretation with perfectly grilled salmon topped with crab meat and Gouda cheese. So unexpected, but so yummy. And the vegetables underneath were amazing. Roasted potatoes, sweet potatoes and tomato confit (which I learned is slow roasted). I've never wanted to eat vegetables so much in my life. I enjoyed their flavored lemonade which was blackberry mint that day. The food is five stars. The only downside is my server was average (forgot water and not well versed on the entree prep in order to ask questions) and the place lacks a little ambiance. Small inside. About 15 tables. What a discovery! This is such an amazing restaurant! We called ahead and the staff were super friendly. We were excited we could bring our 9 pound fur baby with us, too!Little did we know, the fur babies have their own menu section! The owners John and Diana pair up as an amazing team! John does the meat dishes and Diana does all the vegetarian (Chic pea and cauliflower bases) and pet friendly treats and desserts! We started with the Crab Bacon Guacamole and chips- this was outstanding. The bacon and crab were crunchy and delicious! And the chips had salt AND pepper- game changer. My meal was the pineapple chicken! Out. Of. This. World. The plantain chips on the side were the perfect compliment. I kept saying "look at all these ingredients!" It's true! The menu has soooo many flavors and profiles! From tacos to short rib to burgers! My partner got the Burger- and it was also absolutely delicious! We substituted for the garlic Parmesan fries and they were super yummy as well! Crispy with big chunks of kosher salt and Parmesan. And our puppy got a homemade treat by the owner Diana! A family member order us some meals for our family due to having a newborn and the times of COVID. It was Ordered through Grub hub I believe and everything was seamless, on time and delicious. We ordered the Salmon dinner and the BBQ pork W/ Gouda Mac n cheese family of four dinners. They came with a medium sized salad, pound cake and all the fixings (sauces and dressings) that can come with that. The salmon came with a side of mixed sweet and regular potatoes and some green veggies like broccoli. We ordered it a second time and got asparagus. It was all so good. The Mac n cheese was good, but for me I preferred it without the pork on top that comes as a one pan dish or casserole. Which we got a Mac n cheese family dinner. Y'all it was a full pan of it! My whole family enjoyed the meals and we ate on these foods for a couple days/meals. The second time of my delivery, our food was hot and and apparently right out of the oven. As it was a little late. The restaurant and grub hub delivery person both contacted me and adjusted our time accurately by only 20minutes. Not bad at all. We also got a side order of the garlic fries which is one of my husbands favorites. We love this place and will continue to recommend. Service obviously cannot be counted but just the communication factor is definitely a leg up. I can't wait to return to this establishment. Due to COVID we prefer to remain at home, but luckily this has not stopped us from enjoying their meals. We had Kitchen 519 for a date night during pregnancy. So it's safe to see we will be back. Their tacos are yum! Sorry no pictures. There were way to many people (my household) and too much food to get a solid shot on a whim before everyone dug in. No wait on Easter Sunday and reservations allowed! It was a cozy restaurant with great customer service. Everything we had off their brunch menu was enjoyable: lox bagel; chicken and waffles; and pancakes. They also offer an assortment of teas. The overall dish tasted good though. Just enough salt and flavor from veggie and mushroom. The fries seemed like it was left on the stove for too long - hard and burned. A pleasant surprise! Went for Sunday Brunch. Great menu with variety. I had the chocolate chip and banana pancakes, which were perfect! Soft and fluffy. The bananas were not too mushy or over cooked and the chocolate chips were perfectly melted. Kitchen 519 had been on my bookmarks list for what felt like ages. I could never convince anyone to visit with me until yesterday, but I'm so glad I've finally had the dining experience! I arrived for a late lunch around 3 p.m. It was my first meal of the day, so I was hungry. Their menu looked awesome with a host of sandwiches, healthy salads, starters galore, and entrees. Their chicken and spinach alfredo called to me, so I ordered that even though I had planned on getting a sandwich originally. I'm so glad I changed my mind. It was SO good and big enough for two meals at $13. Can't beat that. I also started with a cup of their Tuscan kale and sausage soup. I really enjoyed that as well but needed to add some salt. For dessert, I ordered the hot fudge sundae, whipped cream on the side, and added fried oreos. I thought the oreos would arrive in the sundae itself, but they had their own cup. That did help them stay warm. A cherry was omitted but I didn't care enough to ask for it. I'd say this place is a gem, especially considering how many chains are in the surrounding area.
